This is the start of an inspiration patch, where I hope that fellow scrappers and creators will come and find some inspiration, or even leave some inspiration for me.

Enjoy the Simple Life - 7 Dots Studio Oct/Nov Challenge

Hello Everyone

I hope that you had a good weekend and also found some time to scrap.

Yesterday was an overcast and cool day and so was the perfect day to do some scrapping.  I completed a page for the 7 Dots Studio Challenge here. The challenge is about Textures.

So here is my take on it.

This is a page of my sweet boy...just doing the simple things, like riding his bike, playing with the dogs and just being outside. Here he had stopped for 1 min to check something on his hand....and then he was off again, tearing up the grass and the garden , and playing with the dogs.

I have some journalling on the back of the page.

I used the Love is in the Air and Illumination collections. They were so super for this boy page.

Here's a close up of the layers, gesso, watercolouring and stamping.

I added some string for extra texture and then a bottle cap for a different texture altogether.

The photo corners were also heat embossed with Rangers Distress powder - Weather Worn. This gave them a nice rough texture too.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
I really do so love your visits.
Have a super evening!

Tags - Prima PPP October

Hello Everyone

The sky is dark and the sun has disappeared and I really hope that we get some rain this afternoon!
It has been very hot and windy, so the garden really does need some water.

Just before the sun disappeared, I managed to get some photo's taken of the tags I made for the Prima PPP this month.

10-october

I used mostly the Fairy Belle collection and the Engraver Collection. It was good to be able to use up some scraps.

I did a lot of fussy cutting and layering. Here's some close-ups of the individual tags.

I so enjoyed making the first one, that I just had to make another! LOL...
I didn't think I had any purple Prima papers and then I found some in the Fairy Belle collection.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
I really appreciate all the love you leave!
Have a super evening!

Candy Cane Lane BoBunny - Christmas Cards

Hello Everyone

I have had a really productive weekend, in between some nice family time and some beautiful weather.

I am slowly adding to my Christmas Cards this year, so hopefully I should have enough, in time for Christmas! ;-)

I used the very pretty Candy Cane Lane collection from BoBunny.

I added some old music paper, as an extra layer.

This collection has such sweet Santa images...I couldn't help myself, but use them! ;-)

I die-cut some snowflakes for this card and also added a few bits of stamping.

This is turning out to be one of my favourite collections and I really do plan to make some more cards from it, as well as some Christmas gifts.  So watch this space for that!

BoBunny Supplies:
Candy Cane Lane Collection 6x6 and 12x12 papers
Candy Cane Lane Brads
Candy Cane Lane Noteworthy

Mom - Prima BAP October

Hello Everyone

I hope you are having a super Saturday.

I have been cooking a pot of curry for a family dinner later on and also just pottering, scrapping and a game of 2 of UNO in between, with Joe! ;-)

I loved the Prima BAP sketch again this month....it is super.

2014 October BAP Jennifer

Here's my take on it, using the Delight Collection.

I loved this quilt type patterned paper in the collection and so definitely wanted to use it for my background.

I crackled and distressed the title.....along with the chipboard oval, which was then halved.

My Mom was 21 in this photo and she really was very beautiful! So my journalling above, tells you a little bit about her. My Mom has never really spoken about what her life was like, when she was young....she's just never been that open about it.  Maybe someday she will share some of it with me.

Thanks for stopping by!
I really appreciate the visit!
Have a super, scrappy day!

Man's Best Friend - Scrap Africa Challenge no.37

Hello Everyone

We have a super challenge up on the Scrap Africa Blog - List It.
You must create a project (layout, card or off the page) that included a list.  Your list must have at least 10 items.

It would be super if you could play along and also pop along and see what the DG and DT have created.

This is my "List It" page.

I did not even know, until mid morning that it is Blossom's Birthday today. So Happy Birthday Blossom...you are a terror and an angel all rolled into one! ;-)

This photo was taken 2 weeks ago, at the start of the school holidays and Joe fell asleep on the couch, in front of the TV. He had his arm wrapped around Blossom...their noses touching..it was juat too precious.

Here's a closer look at the list.

I also used a really cute paw wall stamp and then outlined it for more effect.

I used Happy Tails from BoBunny...it's such a fun and cute collection.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
I hope you will play along!
Have a super evening!

Hello Friend Card - Graphic 45 Botanical Tea

Hello Everyone

It was the first day of school again today, after a week's holiday and so we are back to the routine! LOL....a week was definitely too short! ;-)

After my last project, I wanted to create a card with a few of the scraps left and so here it is.

This is really such a pretty collection. I also used a very pretty die-cut that I recently bought and it was the first time that I had actually used it.

These intricate dies really do make for pretty projects.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
I really do appreciate the visit!

Hello Friend - Once Upon a Sketch October Challenge

Hello Everyone

I hope that you are having a super Saturday, whatever you are doing!

We had the most amazing African thunderstorm last night, with lots of wind, lightning and thunder...but unfortunately, not very much rain.  The wind continued blowing this whole day and has just blown all the clouds away.  Some much needed rain, would have been really nice.

I finished my page for the OUAS October challenge. This was the challenge.

Journalling Theme: "The women/girls etc in our lives..."

You are free to interpret our theme ANY WAY you like. It is for your inspiration and this theme word DOES NOT need to be part of your title or journalling. But please make sure your layout is based on the sketch below and includes journalling (hidden journalling is fine). Acceptable journalling is MORE than just a sentence, or generic writing such as date/place etc. It needs to be present and at least 3 lines long. Remember, hidden journalling (under a photo/tag or behind your page) is perfectly fine but please DO let us know in your post where your journalling is!

I turned the sketch on it's side.

So here's my take on it.

This page is about my sister Sharon.
This photo was taken on my engagement day in 2005. I was saying to my sister, just this morning, that we looked so young here. LOL

My journalling is under the photo and is the tag sticking out. It says this:

My sister is not just my sister, but also my best friend.  We virtually see or speak to each other every single day.  We chat, we confide and we support each other, in so many ways.
Sometimes, it is just to pop in and have that very needed cup of tea! ;-)
We don't always see eye to eye and sometimes a little space is needed..
But we always find our way back to sisterhood and friendship.
It is a relationship that I hold very dear and one I hope will carry us into the elderly years.

We often laugh and say that we had better tell the other one, when at 80, our memory is fading or we are doing daft things. I hope that is surely the case!!!

Here is a close-up of the two of us.

I used the really pretty Botanical Tea from Graphic 45, and it was so fitting, because we love our tea and so often share a cuppa together.

Here is a close-up of the stencilling and watercolouring, along with lots of fussy cut elements.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
I really appreciate the visit.

Be back soon!

Sing Lil Bird - Scrap Around the World October Challenge

Morning Everyone

It's so nice to be able to not rush this morning.  I am off for 2 days, as it's school holidays and so decided to spend some time with my son. A great way to start a week! ;-)

So he is sitting here eating his breakfast and I am just quickly doing this post.

I finished a page for the October Scrap Around the World Challenge....
The mood board is really super.

The inspiration from the mood board, was that picture of the girl with her eclectic shorts and I immediately thought of the Zip-A-Dee-Doodle collection from BoBunny, as well as the colouring.
The sentiment was also so gorgeous and I have had these photo's of Joe for a long time now and it fitted perfectly.  The puzzle pieces cam together quickly! ;-)

So here is the page.

These photo's were taken in 2012 when Joe was still at nursery school and they had a end of year concert.  He was dressed as a Macaw and had to sing and dance with his class.  They were all sorts of animals. He really did sing and dance and was not afraid to do his part.  It was really so precious!
So hence the title....Sing Lil Bird.

These little birdies at the bottom of the page just fitted in so perfectly with this theme.

I had to include this photo, which shows his little tail feathers.  He couldn't stop waving it around!!

This is a close-up of the journalling. Isn't that the sweetest little face?!

I did some gesso, stencilling, watercolouring and stamping on the background.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
I hope you have a super day!

Masculine Cards - BoBunny Wild Card

Hello Everyone

I can't believe that I have the whole house to myself again today....the boys are out with the bikes and so it's just me and the dogs, the birdies outside and my scrappy goodies! LOL

BoBunny has an awesome collection out - Wild Card - which is gorgeously masculine and is so perfect for those masculine cards and layouts.

I created some cards...one which I will certainly be using for my brothers 40th birthday, coming up very soon.

I used BoBunny stamps on the backgrounds, along with some BoBunny washi tape.

Here are the individual cards.

On this second one, I used the packing sheet from the buttons, as it was perfect for using on this card.

BoBunny Supplies:
Wild Card Collection - Packaging Sheet, Chipboards, Papers and Buttons
Stamps - Stained Textures
Souvenir Collection - Ephemera Pack
Washi Tape - Black and White
Wood Shapes - That's Life

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Have a super Sunday!

Relax, Restore, Breathe - Scrap Africa Sketch Challenge no.36

Hello Everyone

Wow...01st October! Now the end of year gitteries are really setting in and I realise I have much to do before this year is finished! ;-)

Anyways, we have a new sketch challenge at Scrap Africa here. It's a bit eclectic, but I like it! ;-)

I went with a beach page and theme and I am happy with the result.

I used the gorgeous Seashore collection from Prima.

The chipboard words are Celebr8 and the tree chipboard is Enmarc.

I used the little woody bits from a canvas to create the fence, along with some string.

My journalling tells you about this page and my love for the sea and these 2 boys! ;-)

Please pop over and have a look at the GD and DT inspiration....and then...put paint to paper and play along!!!!!! ;-)

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Have a super evening!
