This is the start of an inspiration patch, where I hope that fellow scrappers and creators will come and find some inspiration, or even leave some inspiration for me.

BoBunny Brads and Handmade Flowers

Hello Everyone

Apologies, for being missing in action for a few months. Life has been crazy, as you all will know, but hopefully we are getting back to some new normality!

Today I am going to share some cards with you and also have some fun with brads.
These are little bits that we often forget about and yet are really versatile and cute.

Time and Place_Brad Flowers_Denise_29 May 01

So to start off, I made flowers and leaves by using BoBunny Stamps. I embossed them and then watercoloured them and added brads to the centres. This really was so much fun and I created a whole lot more than I actually needed.

I then went about making the cards, using these flowers and leaves, some lace and other Time & Place bits and bobs.

I also used brads to create and secure the bows for these cards.

I cannot tell you how many brads I have in my stash and I can tell you that I am really excited to get stuck in and use even more for flowers and cards.

How many brads do you have in your stash, just waiting to be used?

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today and we really hope to see you back tomorrow.

Have a beautiful day!

My Best Pal Mixed Media Layout - Fabscraps - C119

Morning Everyone

Today I am sharing a layout that was created a while back for FabScraps, using the very cute C119 Spilt Milk collection.

I was up on the FabScraps blog here also.

I created my own handmade flowers from FabScraps cardstock and just love how they turned out too.

I just love these photo's of my son and our dog Blossom, at the time.

He was about 7 and she was a few months old.
They played so rough, but loved each other so much!

Sadly she passed away at 18 months. It was tragic!

For This Project You Will Need:
  • FabScraps Spilt Milk Collection: C119 002, 003, 008
  • FabScraps Stencil: DS118 - Dogtooth
  • FabScraps Chipboard: DC119 003
  • FabScraps Cardstock – Navy, Cream, White and Green
  • Tim Holtz Distress Oxides: Faded Jeans, Peeled Paint, Clover, Hickory Smoke, Black Soot, Candied Apple
  • Small yellow beads, silver micro beads
  • Leaf Stamp
  • Leaf die, Various sized flower dies
 Instructions:
  1. Die Cuts:
  • Cut various sized flowers from navy, white and cream FabScraps cardstock. Layer and stick these together and add yellow beads and silver micro beads to the centres.
  • Cut a number of leaves from the green FabScraps cardstock and ink the edges with Peeled Paint distress ink.
  1. Cut down 002 patterned paper to 29,5cmx29,5cm and adhere to the 003 patterned paper. Then tear a fairly wide strip, from almost corner to corner of the 008 patterned paper and adhere to the base, as per the photo.
  2. Stencil with Faded Jeans distress ink and the FabScraps stencil over the background, as per the photo.
  3. Stamp with Clover distress ink and the leaf stamp over the background, as per the photo.
  4. Adhere the photo’s onto a mat base of 003 patterned paper. Raise and adhere these as per the photo.
  5. Colour the chipboard pieces with Hickory Smoke distress ink and use Black Soot to darken the edges. Colour the heart with Candied Apple distress ink and also edge with Black Soot. Adhere to the page, as per the photo.
  6. Adhere the flowers and leaves, as per the photo.

04 Dec - Christmas Treasure Christmas Cards with Denise

Hello Everyone

Today is a little throwback to some BoBunny Christmas cards in December.

I used lots of layers to create dimension and interest. I also fussy cut a number of elements, which I raised and then adhered. All the edges were also roughed up to give a vintage and aged look.

On the second card I did pretty much the same and then also added some diecut leaves, some berries and some pearls. I also stamped and added wording to the card.

I admit that this past Christmas I did not make too many Christmas cards, but I was pleased that I had made a few special one's for the special people in my life.

Wishing you a creative day!

Universal Journal - BoBunny Time & Place Collection

Hello Everyone

I was up on the BoBunny blog here with my Universal journal.

With the start of a new year I wanted to have a versatile journal.
The name of the booklet is a play on words, as it is a universal booklet, in that it encompasses all the things I love, stamping, journalling, doodling, drawing and beautiful little bits and bobs.
However, it is also a place where I can channel my thoughts, gratitude and goals to the universe.

Here's a little sneak peeks.

Cherish Mixed media Canvas - Little Birdie Crafts

Hello Everyone

Today I am back with a mixed media canvas that I did for Little Birdie crafts a while back.
I really enjoyed my DT time with them and loved their products, especially their blooms.

For this project I used Fairy Sparkle.

Below are some photo's showing the creative process.

I re-used Little Birdie packaging and bits for this canvas.

Thereafter the blooms, fussy cut bits and bobs were layered and added.

Here are the projects details.

For This Project You Will Need:
·         Little Birdie Crafts: Fairy Sparkle Paper Collection & embelishments
·         Little Birdie Crafts Stencil: Honeycomb
·         Little Birdie Crafts Packaging
·         Little Birdie Crafts Chipboard: Keys
·         Little Birdie Crafts Flowers
·         Little Birdie Crafts Acrylic Paint: Driftwood
·         Little Birdie Crafts Crackle Paste
·         Little Birdie Crafts Gesso
·         Canvas Board 20cm x 30cm & Wood Corners Inserts
·         Distress Paint – Gathered Twigs
·         Distress Oxide – Worn Lipstick
·         Water spray bottle and canvas

Instructions:
1.      Using the crackle paste and stencil, stencil randomly around the canvas. Allow this to dry.
2.      Spray water over the canvas and then dab Driftwood acrylic paint in and around the stencilling. Allow the paint to run and seep into the stencilling. Allow this to dry.
3.      Using the packaging bits, raise and adhere them, as per the photo’s. Outline with Gathered Twigs distress paint and a brush.
4.      Adhere the canvas wood corner inserts and paint with Gathered Twigs distress paint. Once dry, use a dry brush and add gesso highlights.
5.      Adhere the keys to the canvas, as per the photo’s.
6.      Fussy cut bits from the patterned papers and use bits from the embellishment pack to layer on the canvas.
7.      Add flowers and leaves to create the clusters, in and around the fussy cut bits and embelishments.
8.      Using a dry brush add gesso highlights.
9.      Lastly colour the chipboard title with Worn Lipstick and adhere to the canvas, as per the photo’s.

Graphic 45 January Box Challenge

Hello Everyone

Second post for the year already, so I am definitely off to a good start! :-)

I am back with another challenge project and that is the Graphic 45 January box challenge.
I upcycled a cellphone box to create a gift box for my Aunt.

I used the Come Away With Me collection, along with a few bits and pieces.

I also used some ornate metal label holders for accents from G45. They were just perfect for this feminine box.

I sadly cannot remember the chipboard supplier, as there was just a little short cut left of the strip. I coloured this with oxide inks, Vintage Photo and Tattered Rose.

I prettied the inside with some patterned paper too.

I kept it fairly simple, but tried to give it an elegant and decadent feel.

Believe it or not, but I have had these papers and goodies for ages and this is the first time that I have used this collection. I will definitely be using it some more and want to put it to good use.
One can't let beautiful goodies sit idle!!!! LOL

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
I really appreciate the visit and your comments.

Have a super day!
Denise.

Altered tin - Challenge #86 13 arts

Hello Everyone

Happy New Year to everyone and I really hope that 2020 is a fabulous and blessed year for you.

Apologies that I have not posted on my blog for many, many weeks, but life just got too hectic towards the end of last year and I prioritised creating over posting.

I hope you are all well though and that 2020 has been kind to you, thus far.

It has been years since I have had a bit of time to actually create something really different and for a challenge. I was inspired by Patricia's mood board for 13arts and had myself a dandy little time creating an altered tin.

Here's the mood board below.

I love the rust and rich greens from this mood board and this was the inspiration for the altered tin.

I used lots of textures, pastes, paints and alcohol inks to create this rustic beauty.
In particular, I used Ayeeda powders 3D from 13 arts, yellow and dark green sand for some of the texture.

I used many metal pieces and 3 corners around the tin itself for the design, which also became the feet of the tin.

For the added green I used a clover bloom from BoBunny.

It was really so nice to just create something, without a deadline for a project of specific DT theme. It really did my soul good!

Thanks so much for your patronage and your support!
I truly appreciate it and really hope to keep posting more often in 2020.

Have a super day!
Denise
