This is the start of an inspiration patch, where I hope that fellow scrappers and creators will come and find some inspiration, or even leave some inspiration for me.

Summer - Scrap Africa Sketch no.46

Hello Everyone

Sorry for being so quiet this past week, but life has just been a little difficult.  So I just took some time out.

We have a new sketch challenge at Scrap Africa here.  Here is a reminder of the sketch.

And here is my take on it.

I used mostly BoBunny Lemonade Stand, but also some bits from Summer Stories Good Day Sunshine. I did some gesso stencilling, watercolour effects and stamping on the background.

My boy loves summer and so this is what this page is about! Sun, swimming, ice-creams, watermelon.....;-)

It's a bright, sunny and cheery page asd I really wanted to capture the essence of summer.

Here's a close up of the background and also some untidy cotton....which I thought was perfect for a boy's page! ;-))

Well I look forward to another beautiful day....even though the mornings are certainly getting a little cooler....the days are still very HOT.

I hope you have a super Saturday!

A Day to Remember - Sketchabilities #120

Hello Everyone

I really loved the new sketch up at Sketchabilities and so just had to play along! ;-)

Here's my take on it.

This is just such a special page for me, because I don't often have photo's where Joe and I are together. So I loved that we had this photo taken, even though it took HUGE amounts of persuasion for Joe to sit still and also not pull funny faces! ;-) Little boys and ants in their pants!!!!

My journalling says this: It was such a mission to get you to sit still for 2min! You loved running amock outdoors, playing and fishing! You had such a ball! Old Millstream June 2014

We had a family weekend away at Dullstroom, flyfishing, and it was just a wonderful weekend for us all! ;-)

I used one of my favourite stencils and then did some painting....which I am sooooo loving at the moment.
On the circle chipboard I also did some crackle work.

On the chipboard leaves I added some white embossing and was thrilled at the result.

A close-up of my sweet boy and me! ;-)

I will rather add a list of goodies used, as I think this is easier to make sure I list them all.

Collection - Teresa Collins Now and Then / Summer Stories
Blooms - Petaloo
Chipboard Round - Blue Fern Studios
Chipboard Leaves - Celebr8 and Enmarc
Brads - Teresa Collins
Stamps - BoBunny,Teresa Collins and Prima
Washi Tape - My Minds Eye
Stencil - Pronty
Ranger Paint - Lettuce
White embossing powder

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Have a super evening!

Cards

Hello Everyone

I am so pleased that Friday has come as I had a hectic week! ;-)

Yesterday was my hubby's birthday, so I created a card for his Birthday! I can honestly tell you that this card was made in 15 mins flat.  I really did not have a lot of time, and so this is my version of "Pretty Darn Quick"! ;-)

I used Teresa Collins Summer Stories and even though I used a flower, I still think it is rather masculine.

Then today being Valentine's Day I made another card for him, this time using BoBunny Head Over Heals.

This card took a bit longer than 15min! ;-)

So yes, cards were the order of the day!;-)

I hope you have a happy, romantic and hearty filled day today!
Thanks for your visit.

Splash - CSI Case File no.107

Hello Everyone

Geepers, we are almost at the end of January already!! Where did it go?! ;-)

I managed to find time to play along with the CSI Case File this week.

Here is my take on it.

My yellow looks a little pale in the photograph, but is quite a bit more sunny on the page.
In any case, this is a little fun page about Joe and his dips in the pool this summer.

I used mostly Teresa Collins Summer Stories, with some Fancy Pants patterned paper. The chipboard piece is Design Worx and was embossed with power. I also used some string to emphasis the photo.

This is such a cute photo, I wanted to show you a close-up.

Here is a close-up of the journalling, for good measure too! ;-)

Today is one of those scorchers, and there will certainly be a dip in the pool a little later! ;-)

Have a super evening!

Today - CSI Case File no.97

Hi Everyone

Yesterday was such a busy day, but it was really great to catch up with Evgenia! We had both our boys with so they could play and we could chat! It was really a lovely afternoon.

I finished my layout for the CSI Case File no. 97.

Here is my take on it.

Evidence: Leaves, Branches, Something Shiny
Testimony: Using the word "Bright"

So much of my scrapbooking these days is about just everyday moments! I love scrapping special moments too, but I think the everyday moments are the "stuff" of life! So that was why I called my page "Today" because I wanted to emphasise that everyday moment.

So my journalling says this:
Somebody, somewhere had the bright idea to put fruit on a stick! This is certainly one of the best inventions for Joe, who is firstly a fruit lover of note and then secondly, a lover of fruit on a stick!! So much care is taken to get each piece of fruit off the stick and into his mouth, and he won't eat little bites off. Each whole piece is removed from the stick and placed in his mouth, where it is devoured. Needless to say there are very sticky hands at the end of this little exercise, but the happiest little boy!

I used Teresa Collins Summer Stories collection mostly, with a few bits and bobs from here and there.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
I hope you are having a super weekend!
Cheers

Your Hugs - CSI Case File no.91

Morning Everyone

Sorry my blog has been a little slow this week, but after my little getaway, I have been slow getting into the scrapping again! Also, I have quite a few DT projects going on behind the scenes...so yes, today is the only day that I could actually share something with you.

I am playing along with CSI this week and the case file is a goodie.

Here's my take on it.

Evidence: Stripes and Torn Washi Tapes
Testimony: I have documented Joe's daily hugs

The journalling on my page, tells you exactly what this page is about, and this is something that I love and treasure daily.
My journalling says this:
I absolutely love your hugs and there is nothing I enjoy more than that first hug I get, when I walk through the front door in the afternoons! It means I am HOME and I get to see your sunny, little face!

I used Teresa Collins, Summer Stories collection, along with some 7 Gypsies stamps, Prima and Petaloo flowers.

Joe is such a joy and everyday I am reminded how blessed I am.

Hope you have a super Saturday!

Aspang - CSI Case File no. 86

Morning Everyone

Happy Spring Day to everyone in the southern hemisphere! It is rather a chilly day here in Johannesburg, but the signs of spring are everywhere and the spring smells abound! ;-)

I had to skip a few CSI challenges, due to time constraints, but I am pleased that I was able to squeeze this weeks challenge in. The colours are so soft and gorgeous.

So here is my page.

Evidence: Scallops and Art Mediums
Testimony: Journalling about a City

My journalling is at the back of my page, as I did not want to compete the the writing on the background already. ;-)
My journallings says this:
Aspang is probably more a town than it is a city, but think it is one of the prettiest towns I will ever go to. This photo is at the centre of the town and is just beautiful in every way, with a stunning statue, beautiful gardens and beautiful surrounding shops and buildings too! It is quaint and so fabulously European.
Aspang is the home of the Mileder family and I will never forget how hospitable and friendly they were and how they opened their family to welcome ours.
We spent 2 and a half wonderful weeks in and around Aspang and enjoyed the 40C plus degrees of the fabulous summer weather!
We had the best time in Austria, and specifically Aspang, and I really do hope to visit it again in the future. Joe often asks "when are we going to Austria" again?" ;-)

I used Teresa Collins Summer Stories Collection, which had the perfect colouring and feel for this page! I punched the edges with a Martha Stewart punch and then did some chalking and stencilling with a fabulous Kaisercraft stencil. I outlined the chalking, which really gave it such a nice effect. The flowers used are Prima and no name brands.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Have a super Sunday!
