This is the start of an inspiration patch, where I hope that fellow scrappers and creators will come and find some inspiration, or even leave some inspiration for me.

Hello Everyone

I hope that you are all well. Apologies for being missing this month but life has just been really busy on my end.

Today I have a Brag Book to share, using the Days Gone By collection from FabScraps.

I created this little book for my niece who had her matric dance a while back.

Let's start with the cover. I used purple as my accent colour to match her dress colour, which was purple.

I used the gorgeous heart chippie from FabScraps and then some gorgeous flowers from Little Birdie Crafts, along with die-cut leaves from FabScraps cardstock.

You can see below how the inserts fit into the folders created by the pages. I created 3 of these inserts.

I used resin pieces I have had for ever, along with some FabScraps stickers and the gorgeous FabScraps rose stencil.

Here are the 3 inserts that I created.

I have left some spaces for her to write some notes and also add some of her memento's.

Again, on this page I created little pockets with tag inserts for some wording etc.

On the last pages, I used some more FabScraps chippies, along with stamps and stickers.

This little booklet is the perfect size to pop into a handbag and pull-out easily to show friends and family.

I really hope that she will like it.

Thank goodness it is Friday and I am really looking forward to the weekend.

I hope you have a fabulous weekend and also find some scrappy, crafting, relaxing time! :-)

Cheers for now

This is the front of the project and the base is a 12 x 12 page.

When you start folding it out, this is what it looks like.

...and eventually the inside.

Below are the instructions on how to make this booklet.

For This Project You Will Need:
FabScraps Men Only Collection paper range: C112 001-08
FabScraps Cardstock:FSC112
FabScraps Chipboard: DC80010 Barbed Wire
FabScraps Chipboard: DC80011 Arrows
FabScraps Stickers: ST112 002
Grey, Green and Teal Cardstock
Stamps: BoBunny Grid and Gogs; Just my Type; Captured; I Heart Stars
Small round punch
Small black gems
Black & White Gel Fineliner
Distress Oxide Ink – Broken China, Hickory Smoke, Black Soot, Walnut Stain
White pigment ink
Paper distresser
Bits and pieces from worn pants, buttons and material.

Instructions:
  1. Trim the grey cardstock to size. 30cm x 30cm. Measure 3 sections 9,5cm each and allow for 1/2cm in between, for the folds, on the width of the cardstock. Now measure 3 sections along the length of the cardstock, 1 x 6cm, 2x 12cm. Fold along all these fold lines. (See photo)
  2. Trim on the width folds, where you allowed for the 1/2cm in between the sections. (See photo)
  3. Use a white gel pen to do faux stitching along the length lines of all the folds.
  4. Trim the various bits of patterned paper to fit within each section, allowing for a cardstock border and adhere these to the cardstock base (See photo)
  5. Fussy cut the various words, blocks and arrows from the patterned papers.
  6. Use a black gel pen to do faux stitching around all of the patterned paper bits.
  7. Trim the green, grey and teal cardstock for the bottom sections of the booklet. Width should be the same as the patterned paper, but the length only 7cm. Shape the top end and adhere only on the edges, to make a folder, to insert your photo’s.
  8. Use Broken China and some water to splash over the bottom 1st section. Once dry, outline with a black gel pen.
  9. Mat your photo’s with the various cardstock, leaving a slight border.
  10. Stamp the various images, on the various folders and bits, as per the photo. Use Black Soot and Hickory Smoke.
  11. Colour the arrow chipboard with white pigment ink. Once dry, use your finger to rub over a little Walnut stain. Allow this to dry. Edge with a black gel pen.
  12. Adhere the various materials, buttons and chipboard pieces, photo’s etc. Add white and black gel faux stitching, as per the photo.
  13. Add small black gems, as required.
  14. Fold up the booklet. Use white pigment ink to edge on all the folds and edges.
  15. Trim the black and white stripes from the patterned paper and adhere to the outside of the booklet, approx. 2,5cm from the top.
  16. Add white gel faux stitching around the strip and all edges.
  17. Fussy cut the Little Man Title and adhere with double sided tape.
  18. Add 3 little black gems, as per the photo.

Thanks ever so much for stopping by!
I really appreciate the visit.
Have a fabulous day!

Fabulous Life - Mixed Media Canvas - FabScraps Pink Lemonade

Hello Everyone

I have a mixed media canvas to share with you..
FABulous life, uisng FABulicious FABScraps! LOL

I did loads of fussy cutting for this project. I definitely wanted to use all the gorgeous blooms and leaves on the patterned papers.

I had a lot of fun with the background too, using various mediums, paints etc.

I did a step by step tutorial for this canvas, to show you how I created it..

For This Project You Will Need:
·         FabScraps Pink Lemonade Collection paper range: C108 005
·         FabScraps Stencil: DS096
·         FabScraps Chipboard: DC78 008
·         Tim Holt Stencil: Crocodile THS022
·         Canvas Board 21cmx25cm
·         Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Ink: Peacock Feather, Peeled Paint, Worn Lipstick
·         Tim Holtz Distress Stain: Bundled Sage, Pine Needles, Pumice Stone, Broken China
·         Dina Wakeley Media Acrylic Paint: Evergreen
·         Paperartsy Infusions – Golden Sands
·         Wild Plum Dimensional Pearls
·         White Gesso
·         Pentart 3D Powder
·         Small pink and purple flowers
·         Nuvo Mousse Cornflower Blue
·         Nuvo Purple Organza Glitter

Instructions:
1.       Using the Nuvo mousse and spatula and FabScraps stencil, stencil 4 leaves from the bottom of the canvas upwards and outwards. Allow this to dry.
2.       Using the gesso and a spatula and the Tim Holtz stencil, stencil the crocodile patterning, in and around the nuvo mousse stencilling. Before this dries, sprinkle Pentart 3D powder over the stencilling.  Allow it all to dry.
3.       Spritz the canvas with water and add the various distress stains and green acrylic paint randomly over the stencilling. Add some Golden Sands Infusions on the edges too. Keep spritzing water to get the colours to run and mix. Once dry, add a few watered-down splatters of the wild plum dimensional pearls.
4.       Colour the Fabscraps elephant ear chipboard pieces with the green acrylic paint.  Once dry, add some white gesso highlights.
5.       Fussy cut lots of leafy bits, small flowers and birds from the patterned paper and ink all the edges.
6.       Fussy cut the title from the patterned paper and ink the edge with Peacock Feathers.
7.       Create and layer the central focal point cluster with the chipboard leaves, fussy cut leaves and flowers, pink and purple flowers and birds, as per the photo.
8.       Add some purple organza glitter to the purple flower centres.
9.       Use a paintbrush and water down some gesso.  Use the paintbrush to gently add some white splatters all over the canvas.
10.    Lastly layer and add the title.
11.    All Done!

TESTIMONY (JOURNALING IDEAS)

  • Presentation: Add your journaling to a circular journaling spot or tag.

So for the evidence, this is what I used:
Solid White Background
Stripes
People Embelishments

Testimony: I documented about food or a meal - I documented about coffee and a Chelsea bun.

And lastly, I used all the colours.

So here's my page.

I used FabScraps paper and chippies, along various stamps, diecuts and I also used a FabScraps stencil on the background.

I handmade the purple flowers from cardstock, using the gorgeous Sizzix diecut set, small tattered florals.

Journalling:
There is nothing better, than a cup of coffee and a Chelsea Bun.
Coffee is a daily...a few times daily and the Chelsea an added bonus, every now and then!
Coffee starts the day and the coffee aroma, as one makes it, just signals the start of the day and indicates that I have to get my butt into gear and get ready for the day ahead.
Coffee is also the inbetweener, when I need a little break at work and I can take 10 mins to go off to the kitchen and have a change of scenery and perhaps a little chat.
Coffee is also sometimes the last action for the day, where I can reflect on the day gone past and it warm my tummy before I get into bed!
It is pure medicine for the soul!

Perhaps you can play along this month! ;-)
Pop over here for all the details.

Anyways, hope you have a fabulous day!
I am just about to go and have another cup of the medicine brew!!! ;-)

Cheers for now!
