Blossom - Mixed Media Canvas

Hello Everyone

Last month I lost my sweet dog Blossom...she was only 16 months old.  It was a real blow to our family and it was so hard to accept her death.  However, a month on and I am now able to think of all the happy times she gave us!! She is still terribly missed and will always have a special place in our hearts.

I created this canvas for her.  It's kinda messy....but that's Blossom to a T! ;-)

She so loved playing with her toys and they were always spread out over the garden.  These photo's were taken in Jan...Johann and Joe were playing with her.

I used the BoBunny Happy Tails collection, which is still a favourite of mine!

She added such a breath of fresh air to our family! She will be sorely missed!

Birthday Card - Sweet Life Collection BoBunny

Just a quick post...it's my sisters Birthday today, so I made a card for her.

This is such a soft and pretty collection! I love the pinks and blues together.

The Good Life - Scrap Around the World March Challenge

Hello Everyone

I am just managing to get this layout up in time before the challenge closes......another hectic month is almost finished! ;-)

Here's the gorgeous mood board this month.



I was inspired by the colouring and the fact that this could be a masculine board.  I saw the little robot drawing and though about boys and their toys....LOL

So here's my minimalistic take.

I created the background with strips of washi tape and then added some watercolouring.

Here's a closer look.  I also used some rub-ons that I have had for ages.

This picture tells quite a story and so I wanted to really document that.  So I put a journalling tag behind the photo - the Details

"We were visiting Johanns Mom on the farm and there was heavy rain the night before.  So we had all gone out in the Landrover and bakkie for a drive and the Landrover got stuck in the mud.  We first tried to pull it out with the 4x4 bakkie, which was no use whatsoever.  Johann then went back to get the tractor, along with Joe and eventually they pulled the Landrover out.  It was huge fun for us all!
This was the 2 of them...very determined on their rescue mission!"

The square chipboard, behind the photo, was heat embossed and is Blue Fern Studios piece.

Thank You Cards - BoBunny Sweet Life Collection

Hello Everyone

I am so looking forward to Friday! Roll on week-end and some good scrappy time! ;-)

I made some mixed media cards, using the BoBunny stickable stencils and the very pretty and lovely Sweet Life Collection.

I used gesso through the stencils and then did some watercolouring effects.

The butterflies from this collection are so fabulous and so I really wanted to use them.

I love bright and sunny cards...so this was definitely the intention with this one too.

General Cards

Hello Everyone

I met up with my scrappy buddies last week Tuesday and I managed, through all the chatter and laughter, to create some cards! ;-)

I used the soft and vintagey Rustic Harmony Collection from Kaisercraft.

I used an old BoBunny butterfly stamp to create the background! So simple...yet really effective, I thought! ;-)

I always like having different cards on hand, for all sorts of occasions. These are just the sort! ;-)

Grande - Prima BAP March

Hello Everyone

I hope that you are having a good and restful weekend and hopefully finding some scrappy time in between.

I found some time to finish a page for the Prima March BAP.  Here was the sketch.



Here's my take on it.

I used the Coffee Break Collection, which is fresh and fun and so wanted to keep the page also fresh and fun. 

These 2 lovely ladies are special friends, who I haven't seen for quote some time and really must make a plan to get together.  They have an awesome Mother Daughter relationship and one which I think is rather Grande!!!

I love these bright sunny Prima daisies....I tried so many different flower and colour combinations and then the yellow just fitted perfectly.

I love this other little cluster too.  I know for a fact these these 2 often sit and just have a coffee together and so I added the mug. I think about myself and Joe and just sitting and having a coffee or tea together, is such a special time.

I crackled the chipboard pieces and then sanded them, for a more weathered look. It gave a great shabby look.

Cherish Tag - Prima PPP

Hi Everyone

I soooo loved the Prima PPP board this month...that I just had to play along!


These are definitely some of my favourite colours.

So I created a tag....

I used a whole lot of Prima bits and pieces, including some packaging.

I have actually used a little envelope, from the All About Me Collection...with a little card inside...so I can now easily write a little message on the card, but is tucked away for privacy.

I so love green....it's my favourite colour...so the different greens on this board were the inspiration!!

Tag - Mood Board Challenge no.47 - Scrap Africa

Hello Everyone

We have a super new challenge over at Scrap Africa! ;-) I looooove the mood board and it really is a beaut...even if I say so myself! ;-)

So I decided to go along with a tag....you know how much I love tags ;-).....and here is my take!

I had a horrific February month and it is a month I would not like to repeat ever! So this tag was especially for me...to remind myself that Lemonade.....or Gin and Tonic....is the way to go, when Life Gives you Lemons!!!!! ;-)

I used the bright and sunny collection Lemonade Stand from BoBunny and even used the packaging! Waste not Want Not!!! ;-)

Birthday Card

Just a quick post to share a card I made for my Brother in Law.  It was his Birthday last week.
I used some Graphic 45 bits and pieces....along with some Leaky Shed chipboard.

Being a masculine card...I left it rather simple and concentrated more on the design.

Summer - Scrap Africa Sketch no.46

Hello Everyone

Sorry for being so quiet this past week, but life has just been a little difficult.  So I just took some time out.

We have a new sketch challenge at Scrap Africa here.  Here is a reminder of the sketch.



And here is my take on it.

I used mostly BoBunny Lemonade Stand, but also some bits from Summer Stories Good Day Sunshine. I did some gesso stencilling, watercolour effects and stamping on the background.

My boy loves summer and so this is what this page is about! Sun, swimming, ice-creams, watermelon.....;-)

It's a bright, sunny and cheery page asd I really wanted to capture the essence of summer.

Here's a close up of the background and also some untidy cotton....which I thought was perfect for a boy's page! ;-))

Well I look forward to another beautiful day....even though the mornings are certainly getting a little cooler....the days are still very HOT.

Firstly, it is with a really heavy and broken heart that I post that my sweet girl Blossom passed away yesterday. I am devastated! This doggie will be sorely, sorely missed! xxx
