This is the start of an inspiration patch, where I hope that fellow scrappers and creators will come and find some inspiration, or even leave some inspiration for me.

Sympathy Card

Hello Everyone

Today is a Public Holiday here and so another day to relax and find a bit of scrappy time! ;-)

Sadly, in this past week, an uncle of mine, passed away, after a fairly long battle with cancer.
He really had become rather frail and very unwell, so even though he passed away, I am pleased that he is no longer in pain and is free from that.

I made a sympathy card for the family, as the funeral is on Wednesday.

I used bits and pieces from my Graphic 45 papers and also did some fussy cutting.

I hope you have a super Monday....whatever you doing!

Adventures - Safari Collection - BoBunny

Hello Everyone

I hope you have been having a restful and crafty weekend!

I had some fun in my scrap room this weekend and created this fun little page of my son. I think Joe was just over 1 year old here and was so very, very sweet.

My Mom and Dad have this huge bush in the garden and my Dad shapes it.  It is normally a bit of a round ball, with a flat side on the top. On this day he put Joe on top of this bush and was closely watching him to see what his reaction would be.  Joe just sat and looked down into the garden below.
He was so sweet....and held onto the leaves...just like a little monkey! ;-)

Eventually he starting clambering and crawling towards the edge of the bush, and of course, my Dad was there to catch him! ;-)

I used the Safari Collection from BoBunny and the colouring was perfect for this page! It was also perfect for this fun, little boy themed page.

I did some watercolouring, which is always such fun for me! I used some Lettuce Distress paint here and it came out wonderfully!

I used my white gel pen around the chippies and the photo wood frame matting.  I did not want them to get lost in the background and so was a great way to give them definition.

Safari is obviously a travel and Zoo collection...but can definitely be used for other themed type projects and this is just one example.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Have a super Sunday!

BoBunny Scrapbook Adhesives 3L Blog Hop

Hello Everyone

Welcome to the BoBunny & Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L blog hop!  You should have come
from: Scrapbook Adhesives 3L.

For my project I created a canvas for Mothers Day, next month.  I plan to give it either to my Mother or sister as a Mothers Day gift.

Here 's the canvas.

This is a 20cmx20cm canvas.  I used stickable stencils and gesso to create the background and then used Tim Holtz Distress Paint - Gathered Twigs for the colouring, along with some blue acrylic paint.

I stamped the flowers and leaves with BoBunny stamps and then coloured them with watercolour pencils. I then fussy cut them.  I used gold beads for the centres of the bigger flowers and Ivory Flower Soft for the smaller flower centres. I stuck these down with the 3D Foam Squares from Scrapbook Adhesives 3L.

This is an angled shot to give you an idea of the layering and different elements.

The verse I found on Pinterest and I just loved it so much. It's such a great piece for any Mother to remind us of the vitally important role that we play, in our childrens lives. I printed this onto the patterned paper and then stuck them down the with the 3D Foam Creative Sheets from Scrapbook Adhesives 3L. I loved these 3D Foam Creative Sheets, I am definitely going to aquire some more of these.

Sometimes when one has painted onto a canvas, not all the adhesives stick so well.  However, these Scrapbook Adhesives 3L products were just amazing and stuck like a dream. That's exactly what one wants and makes for pleasurable and easy creating! ;-)

BoBunny Supplies Used:

Spring Tags - Berry71Bleu April Challenge

Hello Everyone

I am up on the Berry71Bleu blog today with Spring Tags.  There is a Spring Fling challenge this month.

I took my inspiration from the colours and Spring blooms.

I used Graphic 45 scraps to make these tags and did quite a bit of fussy cutting too!

I had some Scrapininec chipboard, which I had from my Zeus and Zoe DT days and I used these as well.

I know somewhere and at some point, that I can use these tags to hopefully put a cheer on someone's day! ;-)

I have really been good lately with purchasing scrap supplies...but a local scrapbook shop had a huge sale on Graphic 45 papers and accents....it was just too much to withstand and so I got some yummy goodies, which I cannot wait to play with! ;-)

Anyways...I hope you have had a scrappy day! ;-)
Thanks for popping in!

Today Perfect - Scrap Around the World Challenge/Prima BAP April

Hello Everyone

I hope that you are having a stunning weekend! ;-) I have found some scrappy time to finish off my page for the Scrap Around the World Challenge this month, as well as the Prima BAP.

The mood board is stunning!

2015 April bap keren

I took my inspiration from the colouring, as well as the beach/sea theme.

Here's my take.

This photo is of my Dad.  Our family had gone down for a week to Umdloti and we spent a week at the sea and it was glorious!

Here's a close-up of the journalling.

I used the gorgeous Prima Seashore papers and accents.

I used some shells on my page too.  I thought there were super to use, as part of my clusters.

I created the background with 2 types of gauze and gesso, and then added some stencilling and watercolouring. I added some stamping too.

On the chipboard pieces, I sponged white and brown gesso.  I have a rough sponge and it really gave the chippies some gorgeous texture.

I am happy with this page and it was good to do a sea/beach page again.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
I really appreciate the visit.
Have a super Saturday!

Pencil Challenge no.49 - Scrap Africa

Hello Everyone

We have a really super challenge at Scrap Africa and one can really go to town with it...
Here's some super ideas from an old Scrap365 magazine....

Me loving the watercolours...I went with using watercolour pencils or aquarelle pencils.

I made a tag.

I used pencils on the background as well as colouring the flowers.  I then softened it all up by white spritzing.  I might have been a touch heavy handed! LOL

I used Botanical Garden papers from BoBunny. The flowers were stamped and coloured and then fussy cut.

Thanks so much for popping in!
I hope you have a creative weekend!

Life's Journey has Many Paths

Hello Everyone

I just don't know where the days go.....I wish I had more hours in a day!!

Tomorrow school starts again after 2 and a bit weeks of school break, so tomorrow is back to the early morning starts and routine again.  As Joe says "Mommy...why can't we have holiday all the time?"..

A guy couple recently moved into their own home and are starting their life and journey together.  So I wanted to make a masculine card for them.

I used the Wild Card collection from BoBunny, along with some stamping and splashy paints. I kept it simple and I am so happy with the way it turned out.

Thanks so much for your visits! ;-)
I really appreciate it and apologise for not having blog visited much, over the last 2 weeks.
My husband is well on the mend and even though he is still hobbling, he starts back at work tomorrow as well.  So that is really great! ;-)

Have a super evening!

Father - BoBunny Heritage Collection & Laser Cut Chipboard

Hello Everyone

I recently had this page up on the BoBunny
blog, using the beautiful Heritage Collection, BoBunny stamps and the gorgeous laser chip pieces.

Father Layout by Denise van Deventer using the Heritage Collection

Since this is a page of my Father, I wanted to keep it masculine, in design and style. So to add details to the background, I used the fabulous BoBunny stickable stencils and BoBunny stamps. I also did some splashy paint and some water colour effects.

The clock stencil is certainly one of my new favourites, along with the horizontal lines stencils.

I love the new BoBunny floral stamps. I stamped the flowers and leaves using StazOn and then coloured them with water colours. They were then fussy cut. They really did add a nice feature to this page, without being too floral and feminine.

I also used the new laser cut Timepiece chipboard, which was really perfect for this masculine page.

Thanks so much for stopping by the BoBunny blog. We really do appreciate your visits.

Have a super day!

Goodbye Card

Hello Everyone

Firstly, apologies for not having posted for a few days.  My husband was involved in a rather serious motorbike accident and was hospitalised for 2 days.  Thankfully he is now back home again and he is on the mend.  It was a rather scary time for us and I am just thankful that his injuries were not too bad, considering that there was not much left of the motorbike. The angels were certainly watching over him!!!

I made a Goodbye Card for the Head Mistress of my sons school, who has moved on to another school.

I created the blocks by doing some resist, embossed stamping and then used some distress paint to paint over the stamping, along with a whitewash. It was initially a big block, which I then cut up into the smaller blocks.

It was quite a lot of fun trying this technique and I was happy with the result.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
I really appreciate the visit!

U & Me - Scrap Africa Challenge no.48

Hello Everyone

There is a new sketch challenge up on the blog at Scrap Africa.  Here's the sketch.

I created a page of my sister and I, when we were just wee girls! ;-)

This Garden Journal Collection from BoBunny is just amazing! It is so beautiful and gorgeous!

Here's some close-ups.

I used the stickable stencils and some ink for the background swirls.  I also used a Tim Holtz stencil and BoBunny pearlescents for the background dots. The gorgeous delicate photo frame is also a new die-cut from BoBunny, which I just know is going to be a favourite of mine! ;-)

Well perhaps you can play along! Please also pop along to the blog from some gorgeous inspiration from the Design Team and Guest Designers.

Hope you have a super day!
