General Tag - Graphic 45 / Sizzix

Hello Everyone

2 posts in 1 day! I can back to share another project with you...a general tag.

I dove into my stash again and used some French Country from Graphic 45 and a Sizzix die cut that is really so gorgeous! ;-)

Here's the tag.

I just love this collection because of the beautiful sunflowers. Sadly I have used every little last sunflower on this tag. But yes, there was no wastage of any little scrap! ;-)

I have wanted to use this die for ages now and so I was pleased that I got to use it on this tag.

Here's a closer look.  I used some gold pearlescents for highlights.

I also used some black pearlescents for the dots.

Birthday Card - October Afternoon

Hello Everyone

It's my sons Birthday today and so I have a Birthday Card to share with you.

Firstly, happy Birthday to my Boy! He is 9 today! ;-)

The time has flown and I really don't know where the last 9 years have gone.

But he's a good boy and I love him dearly!

Here's a photo of the big man, in his bed this morning! ;-)

I made this card for him.

I used some October Afternoon bits and pieces along with a Celebr8 stencil and some BoBunny black gesso. I kept it fresh and upbeat...I think perfect for a boy! ;-)

I certainly am happy that I was also able to use some goodies from my stash.

Anyways, off to get some dinner and celebrate a little! ;-)

I Love Adventure - BoBunny Take a Hike Collection

Hello Everyone

I am so thrilled to be staying with BoBunny for another term! ;-)

I cannot tell you what a joy and thrill it is to be on this team! ;-)

Anyways, I created a double pager, which is something that I have not done in years!

But I must admit, that I am really happy with it and how it turned out! ;-)

I used the Take a Hike Collection from BoBunny.  It was so perfect for these photo's of our fly fishing trip a few years ago.  It was 2010 and Joe was just 4 years old.

My boy turns 9 in 2 days...so yes, time has certainly rolled on.

I did some water colour effects, with gesso and stamping and also added some paint splashes.

I love these photo's of Joe and Johann.  They are so special!

Magical Art Journal Page - Berry71Bleu - July Challenge

Hello Everyone

I was up on the Berry71Bleu blog to share my take on this month's mood board! ;-)

Here is the mood board.

This board really challenged me and I created something that possibly I wouldn't have created, without this little nudge.  I am pleased with it though and very happy with the way it turned out.

Here's the page.

I used a "magical" sentiment, which was the inspiration for the scene I created.

"She wanted to touch dragonflies and stars

Dance with fairies and talk to the Moon"

So below is the moon, the stars and the dragonflies.

I also used bits and pieces from the BoBunny Enchanted Garden collection and used the fairy from this collection.

I actually used loads of BoBunny products and will list them at the end of the post.

Lastly, here is a look at the bottom of the art journal page.

I used a tree die-cut and some distress ink to create the tree silhouette's.

Smile - More Than Words Challenge July 2016

Hello Everyone

I have been wanting to play along with More than Words, since the challenge blog started but due to DT commitments and time I was unable to play along, until now! ;-)

Gladly, I can say that this month I really did make some time and was able to create a page for this challenge.

So here's my take...

I basically turned the sketch upside down.

I used bits and pieces from various October Afternoon collections.

I so loved the earlier October Afternoon collections.

You can see the close-up of the title and little bit of journalling above.

I was telling Joe to smile and as I took the photo Sally (the Sharpei) yawned and it looks as if she is smiling a huge smile too! ;-) It is the perfect photo for this challenge! ;-)

One of the October Afternoon collections had a smiley sticker and I knew that I just had to use it too!

Celebrate Card - BoBunny Country Garden

Hello Everyone

I hope that you are having a super weekend!

I had a lovely day yesterday, scrapping and just chilling at home.

We did go out for a round of mini golf, but basically it was a stay at home day! ;-)

Today is a little chilly and overcast, so I really plan to do some more scrapping today.

School starts again tomorrow, after 3 weeks break and so we will be back to the routine.

I had some fun with some BoBunny older collections yesterday.

One of them is Country Garden, which is still one of my favourite collections too.

So here's the card I made.

I used some rub-ons from an ephemera pack and it's amazing how well these still work.

Layering and some pretties does the trick! ;-)

It's a Dogs Life - Prima Build a Page July 2016

I finished a page for the Prima Build a Page for July.

Here is the BAP.

So here is my take on it.

I used all sorts of bits and pieces from various Prima collections, but mostly from the Vintage Emporium Collection.

Here's some close-ups.

I used some Celebr8 chipboard too, which is the flower and leaves chipboard pieces.
I coloured these with paints and inks.

I really love this photo of my dog Sally!
This was taken on a Sunday morning.....her little Sunday morning nap.
It really is a dog's life! ;-)

Life is Good/Chill Out Mixed Media Layout - Celebr8 Local Pride

Hello Everyone

Some of you might have read that we went away to my hubby's Mom in Limpopo this past weekend.

My hubby took a photo of my on the farm, which I really just had to scrap! ;-)

He put the photo on FaceBook and had a comment of "Denise at a hen party"...I thought that was quite funny! ;-)

So here's the page.  I used the Local Pride Celebr8 papers, which were just perfect and apt for this page.

I used some of the Guinea Fowl feathers that I collected on the grass, as well as some of the seeds that I also collected up, as they were just gorgeous.

The truth be known, I absolutely love Guinea fowls and they are my favourite birds.

Above and below, you can see the pod like seeds that I used, along with the feathers.

Lastly, here's a closer look at the wording on the page, which I thought was really so true of me.

I really love this page and I thrilled with the way it turned out.

It is really home grown and is filled with Local Pride, in more ways than one! ;-)

General Mixed Media Card - Graphic 45

Hello Everyone

We were away this weekend.  We went to go and visit my hubby's Mom, up near Alldays.

It is beautiful African bushveld up there and was really so nice to be able to relax in nature and just enjoy the family.

I will share some photo's with you shortly...

But here is one of the sunset on Saturday.  It was just magnificent.

I took my scrappy goodies with and had some time to play on Saturday, as it was so very cold and so we spent quite a bit of time inside.

I created a general mixed media card, using the gorgeous Botanicabella collection from Graphic 45.

I did a lot of fussy cutting for this card, but I am really pleased with the result.
