This is the start of an inspiration patch, where I hope that fellow scrappers and creators will come and find some inspiration, or even leave some inspiration for me.

Once Upon a Time

Hi Everyone

Today is back to work and it seems as though the weekend has passed in a flash.
I have some awesome Websters Pages that I have been saving for a special layout and finally decided on a layout of my son (LOL...probably obvious I know).  In any case, I just love Websters Pages and always feel that my layout has to do the paper justice. So here is my layout below, and is entitled exactly as on the page, Once Upon a Time.

I used Websters Pages (Magical Wishes) Prince Frog and (Feather Your Nest) Twigs and their Deluxe Journaling Card set. It involved a LOT of fussy cutting, but was worth it in the end.

Here are two close ups of the journaling and photo.

I hope you like what you see and maybe find a little bit of inspiration.
Have a great scrappy evening.

Goggle Eyed - Scrap Africa Challenge

Hi Everyone

I just love Saturdays! I can take my time getting up in the morning and lounge about with a cup of coffee, and always find time for lots of scrap booking! Nothing is rushed and that is when I can relax and have lots of inspiration.

I am really excited about the new Scrap Africa Challenge Blog and was very keen to get a layout done for this challenge. I think there is heaps of talent in South Africa and hopefully it can be showcased here.

The very first challenge and here is the sketch.

I loved Svetlana's page and also decided to do a boys page. See my offering below - Goggle Eyed

I just love this picture of Joe and think he really looks like a little cute bug! So with the bright colours of the photo's it was great to be able to use bright coloured papers and accents. I did stamping along the border and also did some splash painting with Dazzles Spray Ink. I used Doodlebug Design Apron Strings paper, Echo Park Sweet Summertime & Summer Days & Happy Days paper, and Echo Park Dots and Stripes stickers. I stamped with Hampton Art Foot Longs Stamps and used Sandy Lion stickers too.

Below are 2 close ups.

I hope you are having a relaxing Saturday afternoon and maybe are scrapping...
Have a great one.

Little Angel

Hi Everyone

I am often surfing the net and looking at scrapbooking sites and look for inspiration and great projects.  This one below caught my eye and I really wanted to try the stamping technique. Gabrielle Pollacco from Websters Papers demonstrated the stamping technique she used.  See this link if you would like more details:

Sun Kissed

Below is my layout created using the same stamp technique.  I also painted my picture frame with white and pink craft paint, and gave it a marbled effect.  I did some very fussy cutting (to quote the awesome Gerry van Gent) and used the cutout Poppies as my flowers.

The beautiful  Poppy paper used is Kand Company, and the photo matting is Glitz Design, Beautiful Dreamer paper. The stamp used was Pheasant stamps from Basic Grey and the 2 rub ons are Scrapbook King.

Here is a close up.

In retrospect, I think I might have used lighter cardstock than the shade of pink I used, but it turned out quite nicely. Maybe you might like to try this technique too.

Have a great scrappy weekend.

Once Upon a Sketch - 15th January Challenge

Hi Everyone

Yesterday I was plagued with DSL issues in the neighbourhood and so could not access the internet at all.  It's amazing how reliant we become on this connectivity to the web and how frustrating it can be when it does not work! Luckily it did not last too long and I am back and connected today!

I have done a layout for the Once Upon a Sketch challenge and geepers, was it a challenge.  Sometimes one struggles to get the right look of the layout and I struggled with this one.  It took me a good 3 days to really get it finished. So take a look and see below.

And below is a close up of my journalling.

This page really was about reminding me that I want and intend to make time for the things and people I love.  I will really try to keep sight of my goals and dreams and make time to allow these to grow and develop.

List of materials used:
Glitz Design Paper and stickers - Beautiful Dreamer
Basic Grey Rub Ons and lettering
Prima Flowers
Upikit Rhinestones
Martha Stewart Punch
Creative Imaginations Leaves

Hope you have a great evening.
Take care
