This is the start of an inspiration patch, where I hope that fellow scrappers and creators will come and find some inspiration, or even leave some inspiration for me.

Beach Boy - BoBunny Zip-A-Dee-Doodle

Hello Everyone

I have had such a great start to the week, with 2 sets of happy scrappy news...firstly the Berry Bleu DT announcement and then secondly a publication email.

Then a little parcel was delivered to the house today and is was my birthday present from my husband! I asked him for some Gelato's and, man oh man, this girl is soooooo happy! I can't wait to start playing with them! My birthday is only on Saturday but he knew that I couldn't wait to have a look, so I have opened them and hope to play a little later!!!! This is one happy girl!!! ;-)

For the South African ladies out there, I thought I would share this info with you.  I really did not think we got Gelato's here in South Africa, but you can check this site here and their prices are really reasonable!

Okay, now to actually get to my new layout for BoBunny using the Zip-A-Dee-Doodle collection. Here is the page I created for the BoBunny blog today! You are welcome to click on the link above and you can go and see what Maryia created as well.

We had recently been on vacation to the coast and I thought that the Zip-A-Dee-Doodle Collection would be perfect for a "beach" page, as it has the lovely blues and greens! It is also such a fun collection and so is also perfect for this theme.

Fussy cut elements from this collection were layered and added to this page, which created texture, as well as interest on the page.

To add to this "beach" theme I added gauze and gesso, which gives one the feeling of the fish nets and also is a flowing element, which draws the eye across the page.

2014 BerryBleu Design Team Announced

Hi Everyone

I have some really exciting news! You are welcome to go and view it here, BUT I will also share it here!

Welcome to our New Design Team Members for 2014

Hello friends!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart to those who applied to our Design Team. It is one of the hardest decision I had to make lately that is why it took me so long to do the announcement. We had received so many amazing applications from so many talented women and I appreciate each and one of you that took time to submit it.
Unfortunately, we can only pick so many and this is all mutual decision from me, our coordinators, and the rest of the team.

If you didn't get picked this time, please try again on the next call. In fact, from the applications I received, I will pick guest designers for 2014. The possibility is always there. We like giving people a chance, we all have to start somewhere and if no one will give you that chance, then who will?
We also suggest that you visit our blog and Facebook page often and join our challenges. We like meeting people and staying friends and this is the only way we get to know you.

We always welcome suggestions and if you feel that you will be a good candidate for our team as DT, please feel free to email me (Marivic...berry71bleu@att.net). I reward creative people that is loyal to our blog and our challenges.  Scrapbooking has been so competitive, but we are not in competition with other challenge blogs nor I would say that we are better than anyone else because we're not. I started this blog almost 5 years ago. My goal was always to meet friends and share ideas and inspirations with people from all walks of life all over the world. Through the years, my goal has remained the same. And I will only pick DT members that share the same goals that I have...to inspire, to create, give gratitude....and.... most important thing, always have an open door for friendship.  I have met a lot of amazing people from all corners of the earth, which I am very thankful for. So we hope by continuing this tradition we will be here for a long time.

Thank you very much for all your support. Thank you to our Sponsors, Design Team Members (past and present),  Guest Designers, our friends who join our challenges every month and to our friends that give us support by leaving us comments...MY BIGGEST THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU!

Please help me welcome our new Design Team Members...

and our returning DT members

Thanks so much Marivic for this wonderful opportunity! ;-)

Summer - Sketchbook365 November Sketch Challenge

Hello Everyone

I hope that you are having a super Saturday and hopefully finding a little bit of scrappy time too.

This morning we went to Joe's Grade 1 Information Day. I cannot believe that my son will be in Grade 1 next year.  It seems like a moment ago he was still a baby and now he will be starting school. The time just seems to pass so quickly!!!

Anyway, I have a page to share with you for the Sketchbook365 November Sketch challenge.

Here is my version of it.

I used the Palm Beach collection from Websters Pages, along with a Prima stencil for the gesso embossing, Fabscraps,Enmarc and Sassafras chipboards and an Upikit stamp, along with some My Minds Eye washi tape and enamel dots.

I did some gesso dabbing on my chipboard piece with a sponge and then spritsed it with some Enmarc Dazzles. I love the grainy, sandy texture that this effect gave.  Here's a close-up below.

I really tried to keep this page simple, and really had to keep myself from adding anything more.

This is another photo from our recent holiday by the sea. Joe was swimming in a tidal pool, and I sat on the side and took photo's of him! He was rather chilly here and I kept telling him to get out, but trying to get him out of the water was pointless.  He still swam for another half hour or so, and by that time the sun was already setting. It certainly was such a fabulous time for us both! ;-)

Thanks for stopping by!
Have a super Saturday!

You have until midnight MDT on Sunday October 27 to send in your answers!!!

Here's the blog hop order:

To tell you a little about myself, I am a devoted mother, giving wife and happy creator!  I am a very happy scrapper and love creating layouts, as well as cards and altered projects. I am not sure that I have a particular style, probably somewhere between classic and shabby chic, but recently I have also done quite modern pages.   I love chipboards and embellishments, and I am always keen to try new things and once I have an idea, I really have to run with it, and must get to it as soon as I possibly can! I give classes at two local Scrapbook stores and love sharing my ideas and creativity with others.

I love being part of the Design Team at BoBunny (http://bobunny.blogspot.com/), which has certainly been such an honour and a privilege. BoBunny is so generous and they really do create such wonderful products to work with! The team of ladies I work alongside are really awesome and I am proud to be associated with with this team and  this fabulous company BoBunny!

I am a very versatile scrapper and create altered projects, cards and pages! I love anything paper and love trying my hand at a new idea! I think that is why paper crafting is such a passion for me, because it is ever evolving with new papers, new tools and new crazes!

Many things inspire me and my son and family are definitely two of those things.  I also love colour and layering, but sometimes clean and simple does the trick. I love photography and really enjoy taking good photo’s that can later be scrapped.  I truly believe that great photo’s make for great projects.

I created this page for the blog hop, using the beautiful Autumn Song! I absolutely love the purple papers (my favourite) in this collection and they certainly stood out for me and so I just had to use them for this page.

This page is of my oldest niece, who is a little older now, than when this photo was taken! She is turning into a beautiful young woman and I really wanted to remind her that she really is, perfect just the way she is!

I did some stamping and embossing on the background, and the title was done exactly the same way!

Lovely Together - Prima BAP October

Hello Everyone

I have so enjoyed my Saturday! It started off with a little mulberry picking, and then a little visit to my folks, followed by 2 massive African thunderstorms, and some chat and dinner with my family! A little bit of scrapping in between, so I am happy as can be! ;-)

I eventually finished my Prima BAP for October, which seemed to sit on my desk for quite a few days! Anyways, I am pleased with the end result. So here's the sketch.

2013 October BAP KK

Here's my take on it.

I used the Rondelle Collection and did quite a lot of fussing cutting! The chipboard is Design Worx, and along with that, used quite a number of dies.

I gessoed my background completely with watered down gesso and then added some stamping.

I really had fun with this background and even though it took me quite a while, I was pleased with the end result! One never really knows how these little experiments will turn out, but I can honestly say I was very happy with the end result.

Thanks so much for popping by!
Hope you have a super evening!

SeaSide Fun - Scrap Africa challenge no.22

Hi Everyone

There is a super new challenge up on the blog today, and it is all about "resisting".

Current Challenge

This is really such a fun technique and can be done in so many ways! Pop along to Scrap Africa and you can see the different mediums and projects made.

Here is my page made, using pearlescent embossing powder as my resisted stamping.

I used a variety of bits and bobs and so was a great way to use up scraps. The background was done with a stencil and gesso, onto which I threw some embossing powder and then embossed. Then I did some spritzing with different blues, which the embossing resisted and then lastly added some stamping.

This is another picture from our vacation to Salt Rock and a really cute one at that, so really wanted to use it.

Thanks so much for popping by!
Have a super day!

Life Journey - OUAS October Challenge

Hi Everyone

Today was an absolutely blissful day and exactly how Sundays should be, with a good mix of family and scrapping! Just perfect! ;-)

I completed a page for the OUAS challenge here. The theme was "journey" and the sketch this one.

Here's my version.

This photo was taken on Joe's 3rd birthday and was on his birthday outing on the Gautrain to Sandton Sqaure/ Nelson Mandela Square.  On the one side it has a huge staircase coming down into the square and this is where the photo is taken.

My journalling says it all, and is really a little message to Joe about his life journey, and my wishes for him.
"Life's journey is a step at a time, and my wish for you is that you would make everyday count! My wish is that your journey takes you to many far and wonderful places and that you see beautiful and interesting things. I pray that your journey is full of happiness and abundance and that it is rich in opportunity and variety. May your heart be the key to every step you take!

I used Teresa Collins "Far Away" Collection and a number of  vaious stamps for my background. The flowers are Prima and Bazill Bascis.

Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to say hello!
I really appreciate it!
Have a super evening!

A Boys Story is the best that is Told - SATW October Challenge

Hello Everyone

Sorry that my blog has been extremely slow this week, but life has just been hectic and I have not been able to post too much, until this afternoon.  I scrapped this morning and really enjoyed the creativity and inspiration that was flowing.

So the page I have to share is for the Scrap Around the World challenge here.

I really loved the bright yellow from the mood board, as well as the chevrons. So along with inspiration from the sketch, I put this page together.

These photo's were taken on our vacation to Salt Rock recently, and so I really wanted to use them. Joe and I had the most wonderful time and it really was just so good for the soul! We really did relax, have fun and enjoy every moment! It is certainly a vacation that I will not forget! ;-)

I used Kate & Co. Oxford Lane Collection from MME and Petaloo flowers.

I used paints, gesso and stamps for my background and I was really pleased with how it turned out.

Apologies for a little bit of a glare off the washi tape in the top right hand corner, but no matter what I tried, I just could not correct it.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
I hope you are having a super Saturday!
Be back soon!
