This is the start of an inspiration patch, where I hope that fellow scrappers and creators will come and find some inspiration, or even leave some inspiration for me.

Dad - Scrap365 Publication

Hello Everyone

I hope that you are having a scrappy Saturday and that time is on your side! ;-) The weekends seem to pass so quickly, so I really do try and make the most of them! ;-)

In the previous Scrap365 magazine, I had a layout published and one that I really love. It's a page about my Father. Such a wonderful man!

This photo was taken when he was still quite young and he was a really handsome man. He still is! ;-)

I used the beautiful Weekend Market collection from BoBunny, which is wonderfully masculine in some of it's colouring! It was so perfect for this page.

A close-up of my journalling, tells you of how I have always thought of my Father as handsome.

Thanks so much for popping by!
Have a super day!

Monstrous Fun - Scrap365 June Sketch

Hello Everyone

I have had such a busy time.  My brother has been here from England and so we have been spending lots of time together as a family and I have not had lots of scrappy time. He leaves tonight, so it certainly will be sad but at least then I get some creating time back! ;-)

I did manage to finish a page for the Scrap365 June challenge. The sketch was a real goodie.

JUNE SKETCH CHALLENGE

Here is my take on it.

I am so enjoying my mixed media.  It really is so creative and no matter how hard one tries, it always turns out differently! ;-)

I used the gorgeous Our Lil' Monster collection from BoBunny. The colouring of this collection is so fun and fresh.

The little tag under my photo is my journalling tag and it says this: You are such a typical little boy, who loves to ride anything, and also ride it fast as you can! The wheels need to spin and the faster you can go the better. You are a little speed demon.

Little boys really are the bomb! ;-)

Thanks for always stopping by!
I really do appreciate your visits!
Have a super day!

Pinterest Inspiration Cards - BoBunny

Hello Everyone

I hope you had a good week!

I was up on the BoBunny blog yesterday with some Pinterest inspiration cards here.

Just a reminder that BoBunny is still giving away goodies for 40 days, they are now on day 22 already.  Pop over and have a look.

Here is the gorgeous Pinterest image.

Here are the cards I created.

The inspiration from the Pinterest board came from that first image, where it has those 3 pictures so closely hung, that they look like 3 panels. So this little seed of inspiration was used for the design of the card, where I created the 3 panels. The paper was embossed and then distressed and inked.

I used the gorgeous Avenues collection, which is still one of my absolute favourite collections.

I did some embossing and distressing and it gave this card a lovely, soft look.

On my second card I used a pinwheel, which were so beautiful on the Pinterest board.

I used Modern Miss for this card, which again matched the Pinterest board colours perfectly.

I did some heat embossing for the background and then added some colouring and stamping.

Thanks so much for popping by to have a look.

I hope you have a super scrappy Saturday.

Changing Seasons - 7 Dots Studio April Challenge

Hello Everyone

It is a very chilly day in Johannesburg and just as I walked in the door, the rain drops began to fell! BRRR...
so a very apt page to share with you today! ;-)

I am just in the nick of time to submit this page for the 7 Dots Studio April Challenge here.

April showers bring May flowers

So this is my take on the challenge. I apologise in advance, if the photo's are not so great, because with this very dreary weather outside, the lighting was awful.

In our part of the world, May means that autumn is almost over and winter is surely on it's way! So hence the reason for the title of my page. My journalling says: Month of May 2014 - The Aloe blooms twice a year! Once at the start of Spring and then again at the start of winter.  May has come and it's a sure sign of the changing seasons!

I used the gorgeous Love is in the Air papers and an Illumination sticker, along with some of the Illumination stamps. The colouring was super for this page, and I just enhanced a little more of the orange.

I used 2 Enmarc chippies, which I crackled and aged. The blooms are BoBunny and Prima and the stencil also Prima. I have been on a mission to also use my stash and so the title is a mix mash of alpha rub-ons. The washi tape is My Minds Eye.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
I really do appreciate your visits!

Original - Prima BAP May

Hello Everyone

I am so pleased that Friday is here! Time to chill and time to scrap! ;-)

I finished a page in the week for the Prima May BAP Challenge.

BAP May Lene

It's a real goodie!

My boy looks so serious here, but in actual fact, these were his posey photo's! Normally he pulls faces and such, but on this day decided to do these model type poses..LOL...too funny! ;-)

So my title is that middle strip across the middle - ORIGINAL!

I kept the colours quite neutral and let the photo's speak for themselves.  So even though I used some flowers, I think it's still very much a boy page.

I used up lots of bits and pieces that I had from the Lifetime Collection and the Engraver Collection. My corners are embossed with copper embossing powder and just love their colour.

I love how this page turned out! I have some journalling on the back of the page for Joe and hopefully one day we will read it and know that he is an "original" and so special and loved.

I hope you have a super day and weekend!

12345...and before we knew it she was 13! - Scrap Around the World May Challenge

Hello Everyone

I hope that you are having a great week so far!

I have a page for the awesome celebratory challenge at Scrap Around the World here. There are really some lovely prizes to be won.

Here is the mood board.

There is certainly much to celebrate and this year my neice turned 13. I had created a canvas a few weeks back of her birthday, but then had given it to her.  So this layout is for MY treasure store! ;-)
We had a super celebratory dinner and here she is opening her gift from us. So all of these things tying into the mood board.

My title is a long one and is 12345...and before we knew it she was 13 and by golly, how true this is! She was just yesterday a baby and today she is a young woman! She is almost as tall as I am...it's scary! ;-)
So this page is to celebrate and represent her blossoming into young womanhood!

I used Modern Miss from BoBunny, which is so perfect for this page! I love the colouring and fresh styling of this collection!

I am simply loving the the mixed media and so I played with paints, stamps, gesso, water and it was huge fun,as always!

I wanted to keep the styling young and fresh too, in keeping with this young beauty and her 13th birthday.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
I hope you have a super evening!

Mothers Day Cards

Hello Everyone

Happy Mother's Day to all the Mothers celebrating  it today!

We had a beautiful, sunny day today and it was spent with the family! Just perfect! ;-)

I made some tags for my sister and aunt and then a card for my Mom.

The ribbons looked much better when they were actually tied to their little parcels.

I used the Primrose Collection from BoBunny for the tags and then the Pincushion Colllection for the card.

I hope you have a super day today!
Thanks for stopping by!

Today: Enjoy the Little Things - OUAS May Challenge

Hello Everyone

I hope that you had a good week and that today you are finding some time to relax, as well as perhaps some scrappy time.

I finished a page for the OUAS May challenge and I am really pleased the result.

Journalling Theme: "Anything goes...."

Here's my take on it.

I love the title of this page, because this is what this page is about, the everyday little moments that are just precious and special.

My tag under the photo say this: Today: Enjoy the little things, because these are really the things that matter. These are the everyday moments that mean so much to me! On Wednesday afternoon, we took the dogs for a walk to Rhodes park, and this was a photo I took, while resting at the side of the lake. Spending time with my boys and doggies, these are the best moments and everything I need!! 07 May 2014

I used the super collection from BoBunny - Woodland Winter - can you believe how well it worked here?! LOL!  I also used some washi tape from BoBunny Modern Miss.  So perfect for a boys page. I also used a few stickers from Fancy Pants Collecting Moments.

I had so much fun with my gesso, spritsing and stamping.

The chipboard frames are leftovers from chipboard sets and were just lightly coloured with inks.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoying this everyday moment with me!
I love and appreciate your comments!
Have a super day!

Perfect Yummy Mulberries - Berry71Bleu May Callenge - Simple Pleasures

Hello Everyone

I am up on the Berry71Bleu blog today to share my page with you for the May Challenge - Simple Pleasures.

Tusia created this amazing Mood Board.

This is my take on the challenge.

I used the words from DarkRoomDoor to sort of provide prompts for the little story that I have written on the back of my page and which I will also share with you here!

"Last summer we saw that our neighbours Mulberry tree was just bursting with fruit! Joe kept saying to me that he wishes we could get to taste some. So I went over to the neighbour one evening to ask him whether we could pick some mulberries. Unfortunately, he was not home and so a very disappointed little boy and myself came home, empty handed.

The next night I saw that someone was home and managed to speak with the neighbours father, who was actually just checking up on the house, since my neighbour was actually away.  He was in a bit of a hurry and so agreed to meet up with us on Saturday morning, so that we could do some picking. Another disappointed, little face was met, as I told Joe we would have to wait until Saturday.

From the moment we were awake on the Saturday morning, Joe kept asking whether it was 9am already, so that we could get going. Every few minutes he kept asking me whether it was time to go, so when it was eventually time, I sighed a sigh of relief! ;-)

We dressed in our oldest clothes and made our way to the neighbours house for our mulberryadventure. I laughed at the sight of us, as anyone seeing us, would probably think we were homeless people! Even the neighbours father gave us a few fleeting glances, probably thinking these people really need some fruit!! ;-)

We made our way to the backyard and the massive mulberry tree.  Only to discover a massive carpet of fallen mulberries at the bottom of three. We could not believe that about a 3cm layer of mulberries, virtually covered this small little backyard. The beauty of this huge tree and the beautiful, plump mulberries was a sight for sore eyes!

Joe and I had a number of plastic containers.  Joe started picking on the bottom branches and I picked as high up as I could get.  We soon enlisted Johann's help, from across the wall, and he was also picking. It was a juicy and sticky affair, as we were walking on the fallen mulberries and the juice soaked straight into our shoes. If ripe, they also fall at the slightest movement and so our hair and clothes were the colour of purple. It was magical as we all worked together, laughed and spent about an hour and more, trying to make a dent in this tree's load.

Joe was eating as much as he was picking and so his containers were slow to fill! ;-) Johann and I between us picked about 5 big containers, but also took a fair amount of time. But eventually we decided we had enough pickings and made our way home.

Before we could enter the backdoor, we all literally undressed and left all the clothing and shoes at the door.  We laughed our heads off at the sight of us, as we made our way straight for the shower and managed to get a little of the purple/black tinge off our hands and feet.

I soon separated out the containers and went and delivered some off at my parents and sisters place.  Then I was back home and making some mulberry jam and putting some away in the fridge for later.  Joe had a whole bowl to himself and was constantly munching away at berries.
He has a love for mulberries that I doubt will dissipate!! ;-)

I wish I could have taken some photo's that day, while doing the pickings, but it was impossible to do so and so my photo is of the actual pickings, after the fact! They were sweet, plump and the most awesome simple pleasure ever! The memory will forever stick with me...it was such an absolute treat!"

I hope that you haven't fallen asleep with my little story...LOL....but now you have an idea of why this simple little bowl of mulberries, was actually like a pot of gold! ;-)

I loved that this Molossi chipboard was so perfect for this page! I used crackle and inks to age it and give it  a woody texture.

The papers I used were from my stash and some amazing Websters Pages papers.  They are gorgeous and I still love them today!

So I hope that you will also share your story with us, and tell us about those Simple Pleasures!
