This is the start of an inspiration patch, where I hope that fellow scrappers and creators will come and find some inspiration, or even leave some inspiration for me.

Feb2015 - Berry71Bleu February Challenge

Hello Everyone

I have a page to share for this month's mood board.

February 2015 Challenge

I created this mixed media page.

I used the very cute and gorgeous digi pieces from The Cat File Store.

Along with these pieces, I used the "All About Me" collection from Prima and some pretty Prima blooms.

I also used the gorgeous "Captured Stamps" from BoBunny.

Below is a close-up of my journalling.

My "staple" these days for most of my pages is watercolouring and gesso! ;-)

We would love to see your take on the mood board this month, so why not play along and join in the fun.

There are also some super prizes for inspiration too! ;-)

CAT File was founded in May 2014 as a family business of two people: Pawel and Mira. We are a small online store providing fresh and colorful digital designs: cut files and printables dedicated mostly for scrapbooking purposes. We love documenting our life and CAT File is our way of sharing this passion with others. It's the platform where crafters from all over the world can gather together, find an inspiration and give it. It's also the space that we created for young designers to grow and develop their skills.

Art Workshop Kit Club, located in Poland, is a joint effort of Agnieszka Arnold, a huge fan of handicraft and the owner of Art Workshop, and Tusia Lech, designer, coordinator of many scrapbooking ventures and owner of 7 Dots Studio. Our main mission, as a Kit Club, is to get your creative juices flowing. Each month we offer unique scrapbooking kits, with great products inside. We carefully choose the products for each kit, so they match each other and inspire you. Each month there are two main kits - Scrapbooking and Pocket Life. In these kits you will find patterned papers from various manufacturers, colored cardstock, 3x4'' and 4x6'' cards, stickers, alphas, stamps, chipboard, strings, ribbons, crystals and coming soon Art Workshop Kit Club exclusive products.

There is still a few days to play along.

Card - Take it Make It Challenge February

Hello Everyone

I have a card for the Take It, Make It February Challenge here.

February Challenge:
Stencilling

I used a Prima stencil to ink onto my whitewash cardstock and then added some border and word stamping.  The doilies were stamped and fussy cut.

The chipboard leaves I coloured with green ink and then added some white embossing powder.

I really enjoyed making this card and think the design came out pretty neat! ;-)

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Have a super evening!

Sky Above Me, Earth Below Me, Fire Within Me - Scrap Around the World Feb Challenge

Hello Everyone

I have finished a page for the Scrap Around the World Challenge here.
This is the gorgeous mood board.

I took my inspiration from the colouring of the mood board...the greens and orange from the seaside boat picture along with the sentiment of the quote.

Here's my take.

This photo is of my neice, on Franschoek beach, Jan 2007. We had gone down to Cape Town for my brothers wedding.  This was the first day we had arrived.  She was prancing and dancing around on the beach! ;-)

I used bits and bobs from various Kaisercraft collections, along with the beautiful Blue Fern studios chippies. I love the words of the title....

I coloured the chippies with ink and then added some white and clear embossing powders.

I did some stamping and fussy cutting too.

Thanks so much for popping in!
I really appreciate the visit!
Have a super Saturday!

BoBunny Glimmer Sprays

Hello Everyone

It's my neice's 14th Birthday next week and so I created a little something to add to her Birthday gift.
I had done something similar for her sister, so I wanted to create something for Carmen too.

Here's how it started off with 2 layers of white acrylic paint and then sponging with BoBunny Glimmer Sprays, Gold and Bronze.

I then added some brown ink to age it, on the edges and some yummy pieces from the Primrose Collection.

Here are the ends of the box.

Lastly, a look inside.

I really hope my neice likes it and can also find a nice use for it too! ;-)

Thanks for stopping by!
Have a super evening!

Sisters - Prima BAP February

Hello Everyone

I finished a page for the Prima February BAP.  I kinda struggled with the sketch, but eventually I was able to put my own spin on it and think it turned out okay.

February-sketch-2

Here's my take on it.

I used the All About Me Collection, along with some Blue Fern Studios chipboard pieces and Prima blooms and Petaloo blooms.

I wanted to keep the styling light and fresh.

I used some of the squares around my title and sub title, to pull everything together.

Here is a close-up of the journalling.

I used some shimmer sprays on the background with a stencil and so when photographing the page, it was a little difficult.  I guess this is also why the writing does not appear sharp.

"Being a sister myself, I know that it's not always easy to agree on everything and always get along! But I love seeing the two of you enjoying each others company and really having fun together Dec 2014"

These two girlies are my neices and it's really scary to know that they were babes just yesterday and today they are young ladies!!

Thanks for stopping by!
Have a super evening!

Tags - Scrap Africa - Die-Cuts Delight

Hello Everyone

We have a new challenge up at Scrap Africa and it's a goodie! It's a die-cut delight...whether cardboard, chipboard, paper...

So I went with lots of my scrappy stash and created these 3 tags.

I used all my little bits of Prima goodies for these 3 tags, including Prima packaging.

Here's a closer look at the individual tags.

I really did go to town on the die-cuts and was pleased I could use up some of my stash and bits.

Hopefully you can haul out those die-cuts too and maybe play along?

There's a $30 Lindy's Stamp Gang Voucher also up for grabs.

Have a super evening!

Tea Party Goodies with BoBunny

Hello Everyone

Apologies for not having posted for almost a week, but I had a week from hell! I really don't want to bore you with all the details, but I can surely say this...living in Africa is not always so nice and our country certainly does have it's negatives! I can just, once again, say that I have been reminded that life is precious and every day and moment is precious too!!!

I recently had to do a DT assignment for BoBunny for a party theme and so I chose a Tea Party theme and this is what I did.

I created a tea party setting, using die-cuts, tags, pleated canvas and also made pillow boxes.
Below is a closer look at the tags I made and using the alpha stamps, I stamped each persons name on their tag.

Maryia, my DT friend at BoBunny, pointed out this really neat way of using the alpha stamps, on Pinterest. You use a rubber band to keep the alpha's together and is much easier stamping like this.

I used various die-cuts for the decoration, in and around, the tea cups.

I joined the border diecuts together to make cake rounds for the cup cakes.

I used stickable stencils and pearlescant paint to make the tags. Here are the steps below.
Step 1. Colouring 4 tags in one go by placing the stickable stencils over the four tags.

Step 2. Using a sponge to dab the first colour, randomly, over the tags.

Step 3.  Now dab the second colour, randomly, over the tags.

Step 4.  Remove the stencils once the paint is dry.

Step 5.  Add rub-ons, stamping and other goodies.

I also made these cute little pillow boxes to say thanks and also hold a small chocolate.  I downloaded the template from the internet and hand cut them.

It was actually quite surprising to me that this little project was relatively inexpensive.  The flowers and the yummy goodies was the only expense.  I had everything else and so it was just putting it all together and making it pretty! ;-)

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hopefully I have given you some seeds of inspiration for your own tea party.

Have a super Sunday!

Grade 2 - BoBunny Pop Quiz

Hello Everyone

I hope you had a good, scrappy weekend and that Monday has been gentle with you! ;-)

This weekend I had some time and went through some of my photo's and realised that I had not yet scrapped Joe's first day of school this year. So I pulled out Pop Quiz from BoBunny, along with my stickable stencils and created this page.

I created the background by first using some watered down gesso to create a central working area. Then I stuck down my stickable stencils alpha's and inked in and around them.

I then added some gesso stencilling and stamping, before adding my photo and other bits.
I kept some space under my photo for some journalling cards and so have documented the details of this school year there.

It really is scary how quickly these kids seem to grow!!!!

Thanks for stopping by!
I hope you have a super evening!
