General Tag - FabScraps Tranquility Collection

Hello Everyone

Wow...a busy weekend...friends, family, scrapping...all rolled into one! ;-) But all good...so I am certainly not complaining! ;-) I hope you had a super weekend too.

I quickly wanted to share another tag that I made using the FabScraps Tranquility Collection.  This time it was a general tag.

This collection is really pretty and there are some amazing little flowers and leaves that can be fussy cut.  Here I used some of those flowers and coloured them pink.

I have a tutorial up on the FabScraps blog, with a step by step, on how to create this tag. So if you want to pop along and have a look, then that would be super! ;-)

Thanks ever so much for taking the time to pop by and say hello....I know time is of the essence for all of us and the social media is sometimes, just all too much! ;-)

Have a super evening!

Live Laugh Love Tag - FabScraps

Hello Everyone

I have been furiously creating in the background and I have lots to share with you! ;-)
BUT I will not overload you and so today is a share on a tag that I made with some fabulicious FabScraps goodies, from the Tranquility Collection.

I really had so much fun creating this tag and it was a little sad that I had to cover up so much of that beautiful background.

Here's what it looked like.

In any case, after many layers and goodies later...the tag was finished! If you would like to see a step by step...then you are welcome to check it out on the FabScraps blog here.

Another view.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
Have a super evening!

Time Together - Prima PPP June

Hello Everyone

I loved the colours of the Prima PPP this month and so really wanted to play along! ;-)

PPPJUNE2015

Here's the page I created.

I had this photo of Joe and I, for a while now, which I really wanted to use.

I used the beautiful Cigar Box Secrets collection. These colours were perfect.

A lot of work went into these flower clusters, as I used a gorgeous die-cut for most of the flowers, leaves and bits. I didn't have the sized flowers that I needed and so used Prima patterned papers to create them, along with some watercolouring and pens.

I also did some gesso and paint stencilling on the background, along with some stamping.

I also did some layers of string around my circle centre piece.

This page was really a labour of love, but I really enjoyed using the die-cuts and making the embellies, all out of patterned paper. It is a special page and so was done with lots of love! ;-)

I hope you have a good evening!
Tonight has to be an early one for me...last night was waaaaaay too late! ;-)

Fathers Day Card - BoBunny Wild Card

Hello Everyone

I have had some gorgeous scrappy time today and have been doing lots of creating in the background! ;-) I will hopefully be able to share it with you soon! ;-)

I did, however, finish another Fathers Day card, which my Mom, asked me to make for my Dad.

The nice thing about Men's cards, is that you actually don't have to add too many emblishments and goodies...simple is good! ;-) I so love this Wild Card Collection and only really have a few bits left!

I hope you have a good, crafty day!
Thanks for stopping by!

Hello Gorgeous - Prima BAP June 2015/ Take It Make It Challenge June

Hello Everyone

I hope that you had a super Thursday! It's another very cold day in Johannesburg and I can already feel that now that the sun is starting to disappear that the cold is creeping in! UGH!!!!

Being a summery, African girl, I hate the cold and Johannesburg being so high up, really does have extreme temps.  So the mornings we freeze and by the afternoon it's quite warm and then by the evenings we are wrapping up again! LOL....the winter blues! ;-)

Okay enough moaning about the cold....I have something VERY hot to share with you today! I made a canvas for the Prima BAP as well as the Take it Make it June Challenge, which is all about texture.

To explain the HOT...this man has caught my eye for a while now and when he opens his mouth to speak, I am weak at the knees! LOL...He is really one, hot dude and so decided to do a canvas, about this hunk! Gerard Butler.

Here was the Prima sketch.

June 2015 BAP keren

Here's my canvas.

I had used up my chipboard pieces from the Engraver collection and was left with a chipboard shell, which I decided to use as my background and create the texture.

Prima_Engraver_Chip

This is what it looked like before.  I cut off some bits around the edges and then stuck this down onto the canvas.  I then added lots of gesso and colour, along with my new Prima stamps, which I absolutely love.
I mixed Gathered Twigs Ranger Distress Paint into my gesso and lathered it in and around the chipboard.  Then I went and coloured the edges with some Esperesso pigment ink and also stamped on it too, with various Prima stamps.

I used up lots of Prima bits and pieces and just added layers with them.
I kept the canvas very masculine and so kept the flowers to a minimum, and the styling also simpler, along with metal cogs and accents.

Thanks so much for stopping by to check out my eye candy!!!! LOL
Hope you have a super day!

Fathers Day Card

Hello Everyone

It's Fathers Day this Sunday and so I made a card for my Father.  I used BoBunny's Wild Card collection, as it's fabulously masculine and so perfect for my Dad! ;-)

Said with a Southern Drawl: "My Daddy is a gamblin' man"....LOL...so thought this would be perfect for him! ;-)

Here's a look at the inside.

I'm sure he'll have a good chuckle at this one! ;-)

I have a few more to make, one for hubby and my Mom asked me to make one for her too.
Have you made your cards yet?

Hope you have a super day!

Gautrain - Scrap Africa Challenge no.53 - Planes, Trains and Automobiles Mood Board

Hello Everyone

We have a new challenge over at Scrap Africa here and it's a fabulous mood board.

I made a layout.

We have a highspeed train in Gauteng and hence the reason for the name Gautrain.  There was so much controversy around this rail system, while it was being built and yet it is a huge success story today.

We took the children, on a little jaunt, just after it started operating and it was a thrill for us all.

I used the gorgeous BoBunny Souvenir collection.

Joe was only 4 here...he was so very sweet! ;-)

Anyways..hopefully you can play along!

We have a yummy prize too! ;-)

Thank You Tag

Hello Everyone

This has been a bad week for posting and is really due to not having had power on Monday,Thursday or Friday evening.  It's really getting rather crazy...BUT...I am here now to share a tag that I created with some BoBunny Ephemera.

I am really trying to use up lots of little bits and pieces and so this tag was another super project for that.

A tag is not a tag without some pretties and so here's a close-up.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
I hope you have a super, crafty Saturday!

Framed Verse - BoBunny

Hello Everyone

Apologies for not having posted for quite a few days.  I would have posted on Monday night, but we had load shedding from 6-10pm and then last night was my scrap and chat evening! So yes...this is really the first opportunity I have had since the weekend.

I created a Framed Verse using lots of BoBunny goodies...not least BoBunny stamps.  I love them to bits and they really are my "go to" stamps! ;-) This verse is an affirmation and I will put it up where I can see it everyday and be a reminder to myself.

I had so much fun with my stamping and watercolour background.  Here's a little bit of the process.

Step one was randomly stamping the same image with StazOn ink. Some I inked once and stamped twice so I could darker and lighter images.

Once all this was dried, I then began doing the watercolouring of the stamped images.  I started off with 2 greens and once that was dried, I then added the 2 oranges.

This is not exact watercolouring, but just getting colour in the approximate areas.

I think the end result is a really pretty background.

Here's a close-up.

For the clusters I used some BoBunny blooms, along with flowers I had made and some leaves I had stamped and water coloured.

Here's a look at the gorgeous verse again.

I really wanted to get into my stamps and really use them again, after I had done the see packets.  So this really was another fun project.

Thanks for stopping by!
Hope to see you back soon!

I will share my projects with you in a little while.  But for now...I have a vintage BoBunny Card and Tag to share with you.

Here's a close-up of the tag.

Here's a look at the card.

Snap Shot - Scrap Africa Sketch Challenge no.52

Hello Everyone

There is a great sketch over at Scrap Africa and the start of a new challenge. Perhaps it's really time to play along! ;-)

So here's my take on it.

This was Joe's first year in the swimming team and I was so proud of this boy! He really trained so hard and even though he was tired at the end of the season, he kept with it and was a great little athlete. I have a little envelope under the photo, where I have put some journalling about this past swimming season.

I used the BoBunny Pop Quiz collection, along with a little bit of Lemonade Stand.

There's really some super inspiration over on the blog from the Guest Designer and Design Team...

There's some yummy goodies up for grabs too.

Seed Packets - Berry71Bleu Stamp It Up - June Challenge

Hello Everyone

It's my turn again this month, to host the Berry71Bleu Challenge and so I went with a Stamp It Up Challenge.

You can create whatever you like, as long as you use some stamping on your project! ;-)

Since we had some Viva Las VegaStamps to work with, I took the inspiration from the pea stamp I got and decided to put my spin on some seed packets.

I got 2 templates from the internet and then took it from there.

I went "all out" with the stamping and really had so much fun! ;-)

I used Graphic 45 papers and stamps, along with the pea Viva Las VegaStamp, BoBunny stamps, Prima Stamps and lastly a Pink Paislee stamp.

Here's some close-ups of the 4 packets.

I used StazOn ink for my stamping, so that I was able to use water colour pencils for the colouring.

I used some BoBunny black pearlescent paint for the flower centres.

All the little touches of stamping really do add to the end product.

I loved these Graphic 45 / Hampton Art stamps, they really are do detailed and beautiful.

This stamping project really reminded me that one can really do so much with one's stamps and really use them to create beautiful projects, without too much else.

There are also some gorgeous goodies up for grabs.

1st Prize:

1 plate o' rubber, the winners choice, shipped to them for free.

Random Prize:
