This is the start of an inspiration patch, where I hope that fellow scrappers and creators will come and find some inspiration, or even leave some inspiration for me.

Farewell Cards - Graphic 45

Hello Everyone

I had to make 2 farewell cards for colleagues at work, that were leaving to seek greener pastures.  So I made 2 cards using some Graphic 45 bits and pieces. One masculine and 1 feminine.

They had to be pretty robust, as they pass through many hands for signing and writing messages.

Here's the one for the male colleague.

Here's the feminine one.

I think it is always nice to receive a handmade card and hopefully is a special reminder of the colleagues remaining behind!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
I hope you have a super weekend!

Thinking of You Tag - Prima PPP October 2015

Hello Everyone

Today my parents have been married for 49 years! Amazing right?! Not many people even come close these days to that! So this evening we had some dinner with them and it was lovely to have the celebration with them! ;-)

I did make a card but will share that with you shortly.

But for now I share a tag that I made for the Prima PPP this month.

2015-October's-Prima-Picks

Here's the tag.

I used a lot of little off-cuts and pieces from different collections. I also used some Prima Mulberry paper that I have had forever, for the background of this tag.

I really did add lots of layers of fussy cut bits.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
I hope you had a super Thursday!

Thankful for You - Berry71Bleu Oct Challenge

Hello Everyone

I am up on the Berry71Bleu blog at the moment and I am sharing my take on the gorgeous mood board for October! ;-)

Here's the mixed media page I created for this challenge.

I used the fabulous Enchanted Harvest Collection from BoBunny along with the super chippie from Creative Embelishments.

I did lots of splashy work on the background and used some watercolours along with BoBunny Gold Glimmer spray.

I did lots of heat embossing on the chippie leaf round too...in fact about 5 layers.  The effect was amazing and has a crackled look to it.

Joe has such a serious little face here! ;-) This was taken on his 2nd Birthday and we were playing in the garden.  I cannot believe he is already 8.  6 years have been a flash by!! But yes, everyday, I realise how he adds so much to my life and how much he means to me! ;-)

There is a day or 2 left to play with the challenge, so you had better jump if you still want to enter! ;-)

Thanks for stopping by!
Have a super Wednesday!

First Journal Page - Graphic45 Times Nouveau Collection

Hello Everyone

I am so excited to share this post today as it is my first ever journal page! LOL...behind the times I know...but eventually got there! ;-)

I was inspired by Solange Marques journal pages on the Graphic45 blog a few days back and thought that after seeing her pages, I need to give this a go.

Being the watercolour fan that I am I had bought a watercolour pad and so this became my journal.
I did not even do the cover yet, as I had such a seed in my brain for the first page, that I just had to get cracking.  So here it is.

I really had so much fun making this page! ;-) I know that I need more practice but think it turned out pretty good anyways! ;-)

I have been wanting to use this inspirational quote for quite a while and I simply love it! ;-)
"No matter how you feel, Get up, Dress up, Show up and Never Give up"

I used the Times Nouveau collection from Graphic 45.  I did lots of gesso, embossing, stamping and of course water colouring.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I really do appreciate your visits!
Have a super Sunday!;-)

A Beautiful Life - Scrap Around the World October Challenge

Hello Everyone

I finished this page last weekend already but only got to photographing it yesterday and posting today! LOL....such is life!!!!

Anyways...I really loved the mood board this month and was so drawn to the fabulous colours and the beautiful parrot and the super coloured circles! ;-)

So the page I created was about my Parrot - Pepsi.

Here she was exploring the front garden and found a twig that really fascinated her! She is such a curious creature and must look at and investigate everything! I think that we could really learn from that! ;-) In anycase...there is always something that fascinates her and so the title of my page "A beautiful Life.."

I used the gorgeous Genevieve Collection from BoBunny and fussy cut a lot of the elements.  I also used the fab circle chippie from Blue Fern Studios.

The title is a rub-on that I have had for ages....and so was nice to be able to finally find it's place!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
I hope you had a super weekend!

More Circle Tags - BoBunny

Hello Everyone

I had so much fun creating the Genevieve circle tags that I created some Christmas one's too! @ Lizzy....yes I had that idea too with these Typo tags! LOL

I used the super Dear Santa Collection from BoBunny, along with some BoBunny stickable stencils!

The two round one's above also have some gesso and liquid pearls on, for a mixed media effect.

Here's a look at the individual tags. On this one I used crackle paste and liquid pearls.

The one below is created with stickable stencils and distress inks.

This one is gesso and distress inks.

And the last 2 just distress inks and stickable stencils.

I am so pleased with how these tags came out and it's a good addition to my Christmas needed goodies! ;-)  They were also so much fun to make and relatively easy too! ;-)

Hows your Christmas goodies coming along?

Have a super evening!

Relax & Unwind Canvas - FabScraps Tranquility Collection

Hello Everyone

It has been a HOOOOOT week in Johannesburg...everyday is above 30C.  Even this evening, I am siting here with the fan going and it's really hot! ;-)

I created a canvas a while back and I can finally share it with you! ;-) I used the fabulous Tranquility Collection from FabScraps. You can find the tutorial here!

I went with a retro feel to this canvas and it's a bit "tongue in cheek" with the title "Relax and Unwind". I don't suppose the ladies in the 50s and 60s had much of that, since they were forever in the kitchen! LOL

I fussy cut these blooms and layered them up, from the pieces below.

Here's a look at the top part of the canvas.

FabScraps do their own range of stencils, which I really like and you will see that I used one here too.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you had a scrappy Sunday! ;-)
Have a super evening!

Circle Tags - BoBunny Genevieve Collection

Hello Everyone

I hope that you are having a sterling week! ;-)

I went circle tag crazy this week and really created a number of tags for various occasions.

Here are some I created with the gorgeous Genevieve Collection from BoBunny.

They are general tags and I will put sentiments on as I require.

My sister had given me some tags from Typo, for Christmas last year, and they have now eventually found their use! ;-)

These fussy cut birds from this collection are so pretty! Maybe I should call them Tweety Tags! LOL

Anyways...thanks for stopping by.
I hope you have a super evening!

Recipe Book - FabScraps Country Kitchen Collection

Hello Everyone

I have a tutorial up on the FabScraps blog for a recipe book that I created for FabScraps.  I used the gorgeous Country Kitchen Collection.

This post is graphic intensive...LOL...so be warned! ;-) Let's start with the cover.

I used acrylic paints and some papers and also embossed the platter and the chefs hat.

Then come the rest of the pages.  I love the French Country feel to this collection and so this is what I also brought to the recipe book.  I kept it shabby and little rustic, by using lots and lots of white acrylic paint.

What would a Denise project be without lots of fussy cutting!!!! ;-)

This is one of my favourite patterned papers becuase of the sunflowers.  Aren't they just gorgeous!!!!

This crate paper is just so super! ;-)

You might think that the white washing is a little rustic and it is! LOL...It was intentional and adds to the French Country feel.

I really enjoyed creating this recipe book and it actually came together quite easily.
I certainly plan to use it and add recipes galore! ;-)

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Have a super weekend!
