This is the start of an inspiration patch, where I hope that fellow scrappers and creators will come and find some inspiration, or even leave some inspiration for me.

Gorgeous Girls - Prima BAP May

Hello Everyone

Welcome to Monday! I surely was not ready for Monday and was still quite happy to live in the past, and still pretend it was weekend! ;-)

Here is the sketch for the BAP Prima for May.

2013 May BAP

And here is my version of it.

I used the Prima Rondelle Collection, with some diecuts, splash painting and doodling. The garden chair chipboard is Enmarc and the flowers are also Prima.

I did a fair amount of fussy cutting, and was rather pleased with the result! ;-)

Thanks for stopping by!
I truly appreciate your visits.
Have a super evening!

Isn't she Lovely - Prima PPP

Hello Everyone

I hope that you have been having a good weekend!

I have had quite a busy one actually, and really had to prioritise, to find some scrappy time! ;-)
I had my neice's 1st birthday party yesterday and it was quite quite a distance away and then also had my in-laws stay over last night, and they only left this morning.  So yes, I only managed to get a few hours in this afternoon.

I finished my Prima PPP layout. This was the colour scheme.

2013 May PPP

Here is the page I created.

I used the Prima Song Bird collection papers and accents, with chippies from Enmarc and Celebr8.  The title is Celebr8 and the other 2 chippies Enmarc. I also used some some Enmarc Dazzles to colour my gauze.

You might think that the young girl looks vaguely familiar and you would be right if you guessed it was me! I was 23 here and this was my wedding day back in 1994, November 26. I was living in London and this photo was taken in Ealing, at the house where we lived, before getting into a London taxi and making our way to the church.

This is the first time I have ever scrapped this event and it was quite nostalgic for me, while creating this page! Seems like a lifetime ago. Such a happy and beautiful day it was!

I had recently also purchased the Prima Mixed Media 7 border stamps and I used one here, which I thought was so very pretty.  I loved this lace border stamp.

Well thanks for stopping by to have a look.
I hope you have a super evening!

Layout and Card - Zeus and Zoe

Hello Everyone

Happy Friday! I am sure that you are looking forward to the weekend, as much as I am! Roll on weekend!

I hope you have been checking all the wonderful projects for May. There has really been some super inspiration from the Zeus and Zoe DT.

I have a page and a card to share with you. Let's start with my layout.

This page is about me and only "Denise".  This is not about me the mother of Joe, or the wife to Johann, this is just about me! Sometimes I have to remind myself that there is a Denise and not just a mother and wife, and that Denise needs to exist also. So this page is to remind me to care for myself too, because if I don't nurture myself, then I will almost certainly just fade away! Do you sometimes feel like that too?

I used the beautiful trim from May Arts, it really is so versatile.

I really experimented with my background and first applied a thin layer of gesso. Then I stuck down some of the wonderful oldsie pages from the Zeus and Zoe kit, and then spritzed with 3 different colours over it. On top of that I threw course salt and allowed it all to dry.  Once dry, I removed all the salt and was left with a wonderful palette to work with. Maybe give this a try sometime...

For my second little project, I created a card using Couture Creations.

I used an embossing folder as well as a diecut. Here is a close-up for good measure.

Don't forget to enter the May Challenge for your chance to win prizes from May Arts and Couture Creations!

Have a great Friday and weekend!!

5 - Once Upon a Sketch Challenge

Hi Everyone

What a busy day today! There never seems to be enough hours in a day! ;-)

I have just just managed to get my page done for the OUAS challenge this month.  I was wondering whether I was actually going to get in done in time.  I really struggled with the lighting too, as the clouds had covered the sun by the time I got home.

Anyways, here was the sketch.  It also had to include a visible number on the layout.

So I did a page from Joe's birthday last year.

My journalling says this: Today sweet boy you are 5! I can almost not believe it! You are still as precious as always - 28 July 2012.

I truly cannot believe that he is growing so fast! It's actually quite scary. But yes, I guess they have to grow up and I will hopefully be there, every step of the way! ;-)

Supplies used:
Basic Grey Life of the Party Collection
Kaisercraft stamp for background stamping
The number 5 - Sassafras

Well thanks for coming to have a look!
I hope you have a super evening!

My Sweet Little "Austrian" Boy - CSI Case File no.72

Hi Everyone

I hope that you week has started well...

I finished a page for the new CSI challenge here.

I created a page about Joe, who just loved Austria! He often asks me when we will visit again and tells me that he misses Austria.

Evidence: Labels and Drawing
Testimony: Journalling on a series of stacked labels
My jounralling says this: July 2012 - You absolutely loved spending time in Aspang, Austria! You were right at home and in your element. You loved being outside. You loved that you were able to just jump on a bicycle and go riding next to the river. You kids such such freedom. (Right this way to play) You keep asking when we are going to Austria again! You tell me often that you miss Austria!

I used Fancy Pants Designs Swagger collection and the colours just matched the case file so perfectly.
The chipboards are Dustic Attic and were also perfect for this page.

I loved Austria and I hope to visit again soon!

Thanks for stopping by..
Your visits are always appreciated.
Have a super evening!

A Moment in Time

Hello Everyone

I am having a super Sunday...it's rather chilly outside and so a great day to be indoors scrapping! ;-)

I went to a scrap and chat with my scrappy ladies on Thursday night and initially could not decide what to do at all! It was like my mojo had completely deserted me! So I just sat and chatted and looked through a magazine and then eventually saw some papers that called to me! So I started creating...but did not get very far, as it was almost time to leave then.

So I got some lovely scrappy time yesterday and managed to finish this page.

I used Kaisercraft papers and accents. The chippie title and frame are Celebr8, the flowers Prima and the zip, and trim Websters Pages. I did some gesso brickwork on the bottom of the page, and then did some inking for texture.

I just love these photo's of my neices and they were perfect to sit inside these frames.

Anyways, thanks for stopping by!
Have a super Sunday afternoon!

Oh Mommy!!! - CSI Case File no.71

Hi Everyone

I am alone at home!!! LOL....yay...so hopefully can really get some scrappy time in for some DT work that I need to get finished and also play along with a few more challenges.

I finished this page for the CSI case file here.

Here is my take on it.

I kept wanting to add to this page, and then decided to leave it just as is! The photo's tell a little story and my few words, just add to the story.

The journalling says: "Oh Mommy, why are you taking a photo of me again? NOT AGAIN?"

He was sitting here on his trampoline outside and was unaware that I was taking the photo, until the last moment when he looked up and then covered his face with his book! LOL..

He is such a funny bunny, you will see that on the 1st photo he is even wearing 2 different sandals. One is a slop and the other another type and colour! LOL...too funny!

Anyways, I used Fancy Pants Designs - The Good Life papers and stickers, with Enmarc chipboards.
I also did some stencilling on the photo's matting.

Thanks for coming to have a look.
I really do appreciate your comments!

Have a super day!

40 - Scrap Africa Challenge no.17 - Chipboard

Hi Everyone

Hope you are having a great week!

There is a new challenge up at Scrap Africa here.  It's a really easy and fun one, all you have to do is use at least 1 chipboard piece on your project.

Please pop over and check out the awesome GD work.

Here is my page for the challenge.

This layout is not my usual colouring or style, but it fits the theme! You see I turned 40 in 2011 and my party was a Bollywood themed party and hence me dressed like a Bollywood star!! ;-) LOL.. So I wanted to use papers that would match this and these Graphic 45 papers were perfect.

I used a Design Worx chipboard, which I crackled and then put some pearls on for bling.

Hopefully you can play along!
You have until 31st May.

Have a super evening!

Outdoors Fun - Scrap Around the World Challenge

Hi Everyone

What a busy day today! Joe has been unwell and so between myself and hubby we were taking care of him, but also trying to get a few things done! So yes, I have really had my time cut out for me today!
Anyways, I did do some scrappy retail therapy and am very pleased with those goodies too!

I am playing along with the Scrap Around the world challenge here, and really loved the sketch and beautiful colours.

Here is my version, all boy! ;-)

I really wanted to use these photo's from last weekends outdoor riding, and so I had to create a boy page!
I used Fancy Pants Swagger collection and accents, with lost of painting, stamping and bits.

I used the new Bo Bunny background stamps and so love them! They are just perfect for any page!

Boy pages certainly allow for a lot more grunge and messiness, which I really enjoyed on this page! Isn't that what little boys are all about?? LOL

Thanks for stopping by..
I really appreciate your visits and comments..

Mothersday Cards / Bo Bunny Card Challenge

Hi Everyone

I am soooo pleased it is Friday! I love that Friday feeling, one of relax and just take a deep breath! LOL

I had to make 2 cards for this Sunday for Mothers Day, and so used up some of my Bo Bunny stash and made these cards.

I apologise if the photography is not that great, but when I got home this afternoon, the clouds had covered the sun! So the lighting was certainly not ideal.

I used Bo Bunny background stamps and Hello Sunshine papers and accents. The flowers are also Bo Bunny with Petaloo leaves.

I just love the new Bo Bunny background stamps, they are really awesome.

If you are going to make some cards for Sunday, then I guess you had better crack on! ;-)

Have a super evening!

Life in Bloom - CSI Case File # 70

Hi Everyone

I hope you are having a great week so far!

I had a wonderful evening last night, where I spent some time with a very old friend of mine.  We have been friends since Grade 1, so we are talking about 35 years.  It is so awesome that we have stayed friends all these years and even though we don't stay in the same country anymore, that we can still get to see each other! Friends are definitely the flowers of life! ;-)

I have a page to share with you today for the new CSI challenge, and it's a real goodie.

Here is my page. I used a sketch from Scrap Friends.

Evidence: Flowers and circles
Testimony: Documenting Spring
My journalling is tucked away in an envelope at the back of my page and says this:
Spring is my favourite season! It adds aroma, colour and energy to my life! The new blooms and fresh greens invigorate me and add much energy to my everyday life! I long for the coming Spring, even though our winter has not even properly started!!

I used Echo Park Victoria Gardens papers, with Prima and Bazzill flowers, Imaginarium Designs chipboards and a Websters pages resin accent.

The winter has not even properly begun and this layout makes me absolutely long for Spring!

Have a super evening!

True Love - Zeus and Zoe May Challenge

Hello Everyone

It's Wednesday and the week is flying by!

I have a layout to share with you today for the May Challenge here, which is all about Riikka's gorgeous mood board.

The soft and gentle colouring was right up my alley and so put this page together.

This is a photo of my parents on their wedding day! They have been married for 46 years, at the end of October. I think its a wonderful achievement!

I used some wonderful goodies from the Zeus and Zoe kit and you can find these goodies here in the etsy store.  The lace doiley is absolutely beautiful and forms a beautiful background for my photo!

Here are some close-ups for good measure.

You will see I used some metal charms and some buttons! I love how these just add to the vintage feel.
