This is the start of an inspiration patch, where I hope that fellow scrappers and creators will come and find some inspiration, or even leave some inspiration for me.

Special Moments - CSI Case File no.76

Hello Everyone

Almost weekend! Roll on Friday!

I have a page to share for the new CSI challenge here.

Using this sketch from Scrapfriends,

I created this page.

Evidence: Leaves, Circle Tags
Testimony: Documenting a wedding
I really could not decided whether I wanted to journal on the circle tags and so decided to write my journalling on the back of the layout.

Mark was married on 27 Jan 2007 and it really was a very special day for our family and him! We loved seeing him all grown up and finally marrying the girl of his dreams.

Carmen and Tayla were flower girls on this gorgeous day and they were so very sweet! This photo is of Mark and the two girls.

It is with much joy and sadness that I look at this photo: joy for the wonderful occasion and sorrow, to know that it really did not last very long.

It is certainly a moment from the past, but I know was very special for our family and very special for these 2 little girls.

Supplies used:
DCWV papers
Imaginarium Designs Chipboards
Prima Alpha stickets
Stencil and pigment ink, gesso

I have a card to share with you for the Prima PPP challenge.

2013 June PPP

Zeus and Zoe Challenge - My Favourite Things

Hi Everyone

There's still time to play along with the Zeus and Zoe challenge this month here.

Julie Andrews song " My Favorite Things"

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things!

Cream colored ponies and crisp apple strudels
Doorbells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings
These are a few of my favorite things!

Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes
Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eye lashes
Silver white winters that melt into spring
These are a few of my favorite things!

When the dog bites, when the bee stings
When I'm feeling sad,
I simply remember
my favorite things
and then I don't feel so bad!

You have until 30 June.

Dare to Dream - Bo Bunny Sketch Challenge

Hi Everyone

I am having a super busy day today!  I guess Saturday's really are the day to try and get everything done, that you want to get done!!

I am sharing a layout for the Bo Bunny June Sketch challenge today.  Here is the sketch.

Here is my take on the sketch.

I did some stamping on the background first and then did some stencilling with sand gesso. Then I fussy cut lots of blooms and used a die-cut for the foliage.

I used the Ambrosia Collection here and it is still one of my favourite collections.  The colouring makes for a really bright and sunny page.

Along with the fussy cut flowers, I used some Petaloo blooms.

I wanted a breezy and easy feel to this page and think the flowing across the page helps achieve that.

Thanks for stopping by!
Hope you are having a great day!

He knows I love Sunflowers - Prima BAP June

Hi Everyone

Half the week gone already! Where does the time fly!!!

I have my Prima BAP entry to share with you.

Here was the sketch.

2013 June BAP

Here is my interpretation.

I used the Prima Sun Kiss collection. I did some fussy cutting, as well as a stencilled background, with Deco Art Glamour Dust, and then lastly some Prima resin goodies and some Celebr8 chipboards.

My husband knows I love sunflowers and so coming back from a a day trip with the kids to visit the grandparents, he picked some sunflowers on the side of the road for me. I thought it was rather sweet.

These papers are just so super and I have been very miserly using them, but now this is the end of this collection in my stash! Maybe some sunflowers will appear somewhere soon again. I have some Graphic 45 papers, but also waiting for the right project! ;-))

Hope you have a super evening...
Thanks for stopping by!

Me and Joe - CSI Case File no.76

Hi Everyone

I am really enjoying the extra day to my weekend and so loving just having a bit more time to play and create.

I did some shopping with my sister and the kids this morning, and really feel like I have manged to tick off a few of my 'to do" things!

I have finished my page for the new CSI challenge and can  really say that I love this page! It has turned out exactly the way I wanted it to and I am thrilled with it. Here was the challenge.

I loved the sketch and really had some ideas for it.

So here is the result.

I used my circles template as a stencil and gessoed the semi circles on and then outlined it.

I used a combination of the Good Life collection from Fancy Pants Designs and the Swagger Collection.
The stamp used on the background is a Chiswick stamp and I just repeated the patterned words.

I made a fun title and love that it makes one's eye travel.

Evidence: Circles
Testimony: Using the word "day" in my journalling
My journalling is at the back of the photo and says this:
One of the most rewarding things in my life, is being your Mommy. Watching you grow, develop and learn is such a joy and such a pleasure! Daddy took these pictures of us on Mother's Day - May 2013 and it was a special little photo shoot for "Me and Joe"!

Thanks for stopping by!
I hope you are enjoying your Monday!

Snapshot - SATW June Challenge

Hi Everyone

Two posts in one day! LOL...it means I have been scrapping up a storm, and enjoying every second of it! ;-)

I finished my page for the Scrap Around the World Challenge and I am really pleased with the result.

I loved the inspiration from the board above and had the perfect idea for a page. So here it is.

I started my background with 2 big splashes of paint and then did some random drips and drabs of pink paint.  Did I have fun...it went everywhere! ;-))

I used Teresa Collins Summer Stories, papers, accents, stamps etc and I am really loving this collection. The flowers are Petaloo and the chipboards Enmarc Crafts.

Here is a close-up of my journalling and also tells you the story of this photo!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Have a super day!

Father's Day Cards

Morning Everone

Happy Fathers'd Day to all your hubbies and Dad's, wishing them a super and family filled day! ;-)

I made some cards yesterday for Father's Day using the super Teresa Collins Summer Stories collection.

I kept them both very masculine, as these are both for very masculine guys. So hopefully my hubby and Dad will like them.

I will be back to share a layout later, and hope you have a super Father's Day today, whatever you do!

The Last Rose of Summer - Challenge no.18 - Scrap Africa

Hi Everyone

I hope you are having a super Saturday! I have been quite productive and have lots of projects to share with you, but will try to not cram them all into one post! ;-))

There is a new challenge at Scrap Africa and it's all about this.

Use texture paint or modelling paste, either with a mask or stencil or free hand and any other wet medium like paint or mists etc.

So here is the page that I created, with some inspiration from (if I can remember correctly) Adrienne Ford and Kelly Foster, both having used the foam leftovers on their pages.

I used a Prima stencil with gesso for the background and then coloured with water colour paints, as well as Enmarc Dazzles Victorian Rose. The chipboard is also Enmarc and the flower Kaisercraft.

The papers used are Basic Grey Sweet Threads and I am pleased to stay that I am really trying to make a dent in my stash! ;-) The alpha's are from the same collection too.

We hope that you will come and have a look at the super inspiration and also hopefully play along here.

Thanks for stopping by!
I hope you have a super day!

Zeus and Zoe DT Layout / CSI Case File no.75

Hello Everyone

The week is steadily moving along and hope that at the half way mark you are still doing okay! ;-)

I am sharing a layout with you today, using Donna Salazar Designs papers and the Zeus and Zoe DT kit. I must admit that I really loved working with the Donna Salazar papers, they were thick and beautiful!
It was my first time working with Donna's papers and I would certainly recommend them! ;-) The aplha chipboard stickers were gorgeous too!

So here is the page that I created.

I first used a Prima stencil for the background painting, and then outlined the painting with a brown marker. I added some splats and then added the paper circles, stamping, chipboards and flowers, kitty cat and buttons.

This photo is of my 3 neices, being flower girls at another cousins wedding! They really looked so beautiful and were truly little angels!

You can find Donna Salazar Designs on this link and the super Zeus and Zoe etsy goodies here.

I am also using this page for the CSI Case File no.75, which consists of this.

Supplies used:
Prima Stencil, stamp and flowers
Donna Salazar papers and alpha chipboards
Petaloo flowers
Zeus and Zoe buttons and kitty
Enmarc Chipboards

Hope to see you back soon!

Love My Shoes - OUAS June Challenge

Hello Everyone

I hope you are enjoying the weekend!

It is supposedly winter here in Africa, but my goodness, we surely can't complain about the weather! Beautiful blue skies and wonderful sunshine is the order of the day! ;-))

I had to laugh when I saw the OUAS challenge, as I had just completed my DT layout for Zeus and Zoe and the challenge is all about my favourite things.  So I had done a layout of some of my shoes.  So the OUAS challenge is about exactly that, my 1 guilty pleasure, my shoes (of course, that is next to my scrapping goodies!!!)

So here was the sketch.

And here is my page.

I wanted to make my page a bit edgy, a bit steampunky and a bit sharp, to match my shoes. So I went with Graphic 45 papers, Steampunk Debutante and Olde Curiosity Shoppe.

My journalling is on a tag underneath the photo and says this:
My love of shoes comes a long way. There is no better retail therapy than looking for a new pair of shoes! Next to scrapbooking supplies, shoes must be my next guilty pleasure! In fact, what guilt at all??!!!!!! There is nothing better than stepping out in style! ;-)

Supplies used:
Graphic 45 Steampunk Debutante collection
Graphic 45 Olde Curiosity Shoppe collection
Prima Vintage Trinkets
Chiswick flowers
Enmarc Chipboards
7 Gypsies tag and stamp
Belle Brocade Stencil

Thanks for stopping by!
Hope you have a super day!

Badplaas - CSI Case File no.74

Hi Everyone

I am soooooo pleased it's Friday and I am so happy to just chill and relax a little bit! It certainly feels like it has been a very long week!

I managed to get my layout photographed, just before the sun has disappeared, so at least I am able to post today.

I played along with the new CSI challenge.

I used this sketch as inspiration from Scrap Friends.

Here is my page.

Evidence: Metal brad, flowers
Testimony: Documenting a childhood memory

This photo was taken when I was about 4 or 5 years old, at a resort called Badplaas (direct translation is Bath farm). We spent many a vacation here and it was ideal for kids as they have warm pools and is all centred around family vacations. For days on end we would lie around the pool, rollerskate, play and just chill!

My journalling says:We spent many a vacation at Badplaas, Eastern Transvaal. It was such a great place for families and us kids. We swam and played all day! It was bliss!

I used papers from my stash, BG Sweet Threads and they were perfect for this challenge.

Thanks for popping in!
I appreciate it!
Have a super evening!

Morgan - Sketchbook 365 June Challenge

Hello Everyone

I hope that Monday was a good day for you and that you also had a good weekend.

I am playing along with the Sketchbook 365 sketch challenge and created a sweet little page.

Latest Sketch Challenge - June 2013

Here is my take on it.

This is my youngest niece, who has just turned 1, and this photo was taken at her 1st birthday party! She is almost walking, but not quite yet.

I used Websters Pages Best Friends collection, with a Scrap FX chipboard.

I found the colouring a little tricky, especially with the dot paper! I like the end result, but think I had a totally different idea in mind, when I first started this page! ;-) That happens sometimes!!

Well thanks for stopping by!
Have a super evening!

Tree Fella's - CSI Case File no.73

Hi Everyone

The weeks are flying by, and the weekends even faster! I can't believe that it was Friday night a few hours ago and already it is Sunday afternoon! I wish the weekends would last forever!! ;-))

I played along with a CSI challenge and the colours were a little challenging for me, but I managed to create a page.

So here is my page.

There's a little play on words in the title, with Tree Fella's, as they are also fellers.

Evidence: Circles
Testimony: My jounralling is a series of directions
Then men in our family (Dad, Johann, Rudi and Mark) were asked to help out with some tree felling in December 2012, while they were all on leave. It turned out into 4 different days and 4 different locations! So they became the Tree Fella's (fellers)! My Dad was the organiser and the adviser and shouted directions.
The journalling spots say this:
- Hold onto this rope and make sure the branch is secure. Be careful now!
- Hold on tight now, is that saw secure? Okay boys, let's get this job done quickly.
- Hey guys, please be careful. Make sure that branch doesn't fall the wrong way! Watch out!!

I used the Fancy Pants Designs Swagger collection, with lots of spritzing and colouring. The chipboards are Enmarc and Design Worx, and the alpha stickers are Crate Paper.

I really wanted to add lots of texture, to add to this masculine page and love that way that it turned out.

Thanks so much for popping by!
I do so love your visits!
Have a super evening!
