This is the start of an inspiration patch, where I hope that fellow scrappers and creators will come and find some inspiration, or even leave some inspiration for me.

Cards

Hi Everyone

I hope you are enjoying your Saturday. I have had a really nice and relaxing one so far, and hope for it to continue! ;-)

I had to make a weeding card for a friend yesterday and so this is what I came up with. I used Glitz Design paper, with lots of Making Memories rub-ons, pieces and chipboards.

Then we had a birthday to attend today, for one of Joe's friends who turned eight. I had to go with a really boy card!! ;-)

For this one I used Crate Paper and accents, with lots of stamping on the background.

To give you an idea, here is a picture from the birthday party, so this card was just perfect for the occasion.

It has been a great day! ;-)

Thanks for stopping by!
Have a super evening!

Emmy - Sketchbook 365 April Challenge

Hi Everyone

It's Friday and the start of the weekend! Yay! It's always such a brilliant day.

I have completed a page for the Sketchbook 365 sketch challenge.

Latest Sketch Challenge - April 2013

Here is my take on it.

I used Graphic 45 papers and did some fussy cutting too! I have no idea what the make is of the chipboards, but I used Kwik Crackle for a nice effect.

This layout is of my Aunt Emily, who from small, we just call "Emmy".  She is now in her eighties and although frail, she is still able to visit with us and be a part of the family gatherings! I love these photo's of her, where she looks so well and so elegant.

Thanks for popping in.
I hope you have a super Friday!

Mark - CSI Case File no. 69

Hi Everyone

Geepers, but the days just seem to be flying by! I just wish time would stand still for a moment, so that I can catch up!! ;-)

I have a page for the CSI challenge here, and is all around this case file below.

Here's my version.

Evidence: Circles
Testimony: Circular journalling spot
This page is about my brother Mark, who was visiting here, just a few weeks ago and it says this:
It is always so great when you come home to visit! There is nothing better than having the whole family together! It means that we celebrate with meals together, we chat and laugh and really spend lots of time together. The kids also love having you around and hang off your every word! We miss you!

I used Little Yellow Bicycle Saturday papers and accents. I did some gesso stencilling and painting on the background.  I think it makes for a great masculine look.

It's never really easy when one of your family members, lives far away and only gets to visit every now and then!

Anyways, hope you have a stunning evening!

Beautiful Austria - Scrap Africa Sketch Challenge no.17

Hi Everyone

I am having such a relaxing day! I went to the gym and then had some breakfast with the girls, and now I am back home to do some postings and also get some scrapping done!

There's a new sketch challenge up at Scrap Africa here. It would be great if you could play along.

Current Challenge

I created this page.

I used Crate Papers and felt they were so bright and sunny, exactly what Austria is like in Summer!
I also used Prima vines and alpha lettering, with some Design Worx chicken wire chipboard.

Here's a closer look.

I really hope you will play along! You have until the 14th May.

Have a super day!

Let sleeping dogs (and children) lie - CSI Challenge #68 / Keeping the Best April Sketch Challenge

Hi Everyone

I hope that you are having a super Saturday, whatever you are doing!
We have had the most glorious day here in sunny Jo'burg! There is just something about the warm, sunny weather that lifts the spirits and gets the creative juices flowing.

I created a page for 2 challenges today. Firstly here was the CSI challenge.

and then using Keeping the Best sketch.

So here is my page.

I did some gesso stencilling on the background with some stamping too. I used a combination of Basic Grey papers and Echo Park papers, with My Minds Eye washi tape and 7 Gypsies tape.  I don't know the make of the chippie owl, but the chain chippe is Enmarc and the brads are Teresa Collins.

Here are some close-ups.

Evidence: Stripes, brads, owls
Testimony: Using the word wise in my journalling.
My journalling tag is under the photo and says this:
A wise Mommy once said: "Let sleeping dogs and children lie" - Joe was 2 years old and Rosie just a few months old. These two had been playing and running around like mad things, until they eventually settled on the couch and promptly fell asleep! They were so pooped out!

The sketch and the CSI challenge really pushed me to try some new things and styling and I am happy with how it turned out.  I always think it's good to try something new.

Thanks for popping in today!
Really much appreciated!

Heritage Page - Zeus and Zoe

Hello Everyone

Well the weekend is almost upon us and I am sure you are looking forward to it, as much as I am! ;-)

I have a heritage page to share with you today - Dad & Us.

This is a photo of my Dad and us 3 kids.  This was taken when I was about 7 years old. I just know that we were going to a function and we were all dressed up for the occasion. Don't we look spiffy?

I loved using the Zeus and Zoe crocheted round, buttons and text paper, as they really added to the heritage look and feel. The trim under the photo is May Arts trim and is really soooo divine! You will see I also did some  stencilling with gesso and here I used a beautiful DecoArt classic stencil.

Please check out the Zeus and Zoe Etsy store here, where you will find these wonderful crafting goodies.

Have a super weekend.

Easter Egg Hunt - Prima PPP

Hi Everyone

Winter has certainly started setting in here in Johannesburg and the mornings and evenings are really becoming quite chilly! So I guess it's time to haul out those winter clothes and get the heaters all fired up!

The Prima PPP this month is all about spring.

2013 April PPP

So I remembered that I had taken photo's, from Easter, and thought they would be perfect for this challenge.

I used the Meadow Lark collection. These colours are so bright and fresh.  The chipboard is Celebr8 and was gesso'ed and spritzed with Dazzles. There is also some gesso stencilling on the strip behind the chipboard.

We hid Easter eggs and choccies, all over my Mother's garden.  The kids had to really look to find them! Some were so well hidden, that 2 days later we still found some, as well as my Mothers dog!!! ;-)

Thanks so much for having a look!
I hope you have a super evening.
