This is the start of an inspiration patch, where I hope that fellow scrappers and creators will come and find some inspiration, or even leave some inspiration for me.

1 - Berry71Bleu November Challenge

Hello Everyone

It is so good to be able to post something, as we actually have electricity! Sometimes living in Africa, really does have it's frustrations!!!

Anyways, the new challenge at Berry71Bleu is up on the blog and it's an early years Birthday challenge.

This month we want to see a project created about any early years Birthday celebration, whether it's your won, your children or a loved one.

So I created a layout of my Son's 1st Birthday. It was a really special day indeed.

Since I was married twice and the second time was only well into my 30's, I really did not think that I was going to have children.  When at 36 my son was born, it surely was a life changing event and our lives have never been the same!!!!! We have been blessed by this little boy and we certainly love him dearly!

So yes, his 1st birthday was a really special one.  He is also the only even more so! ;-)

To see more details and close-ups, please pop over to the Berry71Bleu blog and hopefully you will also play along. There are some wonderful goodies up for grabs too! ;-)

Thanks for stopping by!
I hope you have a fabulous day!
Denise x

  2. So strong, so fabulous and love the crisp look! Awesome layout! <3

  3. Aaaaw this is absolutely delightful Denise. So many amazing details too, not to mention that adorable photo. You sure have rocked this challenge. Also I believe that belated birthday wishes are in order too. So sorry I missed the actual date !!! Sorry. Also thanks for visiting me yesterday & I know what you mean about life getting in the way, I always mean to call by to everyones blog, but sometimes there just aren't enough hours in the day to do everything we want!!!!

  4. What a precious little boy. Your page is bright and festive, with the B&W photo standing out against the vibrant colours. Wow, look at that cake, it's very special. The stars and balloons are the perfect embellies for a one year old :D

  5. Love these colors for lovely and fun layout!

  6. Oh Denise such a wonderful page! love the colours and beautiful fun details!

  7. Now I know something else about you ;) yes they are life changing and I think 36 is not a bad age for kids I was 30 and 32 when my two were born... Clint is 30 now and the twins are 9 months. I think that is the only regret I would have about not starting earlier... I look at people who are in their early forties with grandies and I am a little jealous of the years ahead of them that they get to spend with them I keep thinking that when mine leave school I will be 80... I wan't lots of time with them... anyhow a little off track :D You have created such a fun vibrant party page. Love the pic of you and Joe... special memories... <3

  8. I can see what a blessing Joe is to you and your love for him shines through each page You make of him. I love this bright and whimsical page.

  9. Too sweet!! I have heard of your frustrations in Joburg. Thankfully for now we have had minimal load sheds. Always annoying...

  10. Super layout , love the bright and bold colors and enjoyed your story as well.
