This is the start of an inspiration patch, where I hope that fellow scrappers and creators will come and find some inspiration, or even leave some inspiration for me.

Dad's 70th - Prima BPP Challenge

Hi Everyone

I am so looking forward to Friday and the weekend! This has been a looooong week!
In anycase, I am sure it will be here soon enough.

Today I have a layout for the Prima BPP Challenge.  This was the sketch.

2012SEPTEMBERBAPHege

And here is my take on it.

This is such a special layout for me, as was taken on my Dad's 70th birthday. I am really in awe of him and he is truly such a special man.

I used the Meadow Lark collection, with a Celebr8 chipboard and a 7 Gypsies border stamp.

The background was created with a Prima stencil and gesso and then I did some inking and misting over it.

Here are 2 close-ups for good measure.

Thanks so much for visiting today!
Your patronage is truly appreciated!
Have a super evening!

Sunset Find - Once Upon a Sketch/CSI Challenge

Hi Everyone

There is another Challenge posted on OUAS and it is another really cool one. Here is the challenge.

When I looked at these colours, I just knew that it has to have an African theme.

So here is my layout.

Evidence used:
Trees
Misting
Newsprint pattern

Testimony:
Journal like a newspaper article
Used "Easy"...

The journalling basically tells a story and I hope that the scene I have created, together with the journalling, paint an even more vivid African picture in your mind.  This is definitely Africa at it's best!

I used Basic Grey Bloc Basics and Curio papers and chipboards, Dazzles Clay Pot Spray Ink for the misting and tree and the gorgeous tree itself is Design Worx and lastly, also Prima Alpha's.

Here are some close-ups.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
I hope you have had a taste of Africa today.
Have a good one!

Wishing you a lifetime of happiness - Bo Bunny Challenge

Hi Everyone

Some friends of ours are getting married tomorrow and thought I would make a card, and combine it with the Bo Bunny Septmber card challenge.

So here is the card I made.

I used Bo Bunny Ambrosia papers and stickers, brads, buttons and trinkets. In addition, I used Prima and Petaloo flowers and butterfly.  The chipboard glasses are Enmarc and the rub-on, Scrapbook King.

I am really hoping for a sunny day tomorrow, and lots of photo's to scrap!

Hope you have a great afternoon.

This is the start of a long weekend and I am so looking forward to some warm weather, scrap time and just some good relaxation and fun.

Today I am sharing a project for the My Minds Eye Make it Work Challenge. The challenge was to create a layout and then create a card that goes along with the layout.

So here is my pair.

And here they are separately.

Supplies used:
So Sophie Patterned paper
Bloom and Grow Patterned paper
Meadow Lark Die Cuts
Follow Your Heart Papers and chipboard accents
Petaloo Flowers
Prima Flowers

I am so chuffed and amazed that 4 different MME collections can work so well together and just fit perfectly. I think that's really cool.

Okay, well thanks for having a look.

This is Me, Free to be Me - Berry Bleu September Challenge

Hi Everyone

I actually have two posts to share with you today, as I have been scrapping up a storm! Literally and figuratively! The weather has been so cold and dreary over the last few days, that I have been quite content to hibernate in my scrapping room! ;-)

So here is the first layout I would like to share with you.
It is for the Berry Bleu September challenge here.

This challenge is Steampunk.

I so enjoyed this challenge as I had no idea what Steampunk meant.  So after the DT layouts given and some Googling, I think I have a much better idea.

So here is my layout.

The quotes I used are just so fabulous from Coco Chanel.  I am really not trying to blow my own horn here..I wish I could say that I am those things....one can certainly aspire though! ;-)

Supplies used:
Jenny Bowlin - Vintage Red Ledger Paper
Fabscraps Chipboard Frame
Enmarc Chipboard Cogs
Graphic 45 - Vintage Stickers
Graphic 45 - Olde Curiosity Shoppe Collection papers and stickers
Graphic 45 - Steampunk Debutante Collection
Deja Views - Rub Ons
Prima Flowers
Recycled spring and metal round.

Here are two close-ups.

Thanks for having a look.
Hope you enjoy your Sunday afternoon.

Create - Challenge #9 - Scrap Africa

Hi Everyone

There is a new challenge posted at Scrap Africa! It is really a super challenge and hope that you might play along.

Here is the challenge. Here is the inspiration for this challenge.

...

And here is the layout that I created.

I had so much fun with this layout and really love all the colour that I was able to bring to it.  I used Staedtler Aquarelle Pencil Crayons to create this background, and was inspired from a sketch I had seen on the internet.
Supplies used:
Kaisercraft Class of '87 Collection papers
October Afternoon stickers
Echo Park Alpha Stickers
MME twine
Sassafras Apple Jack Paper

This was a picture of my son painting and him showing me how messy he had made his hand.  It was, no doubt, lots of fun and creativity.

Here are two close-ups below.

I also have some hidden journalling, you can just see the little green tag on the crossword patterned paper.

Okay...well I hope you are having a super weekend.
Hope to see you back soon.

Happy Birthday Card

Hi Everyone

I am so pleased to have a relaxing weekend for a change, with no scrap classes and no hurries to get anything particularly done! I have just enjoyed the rest and relaxation, and of course a little scrapping in between.

Yesterday was my neice's birthday and so made a card from scraps leftover from the Enmarc Spring Challenge layout that I did.

So here is the card.

I really wanted it to be bright and sunny, and think it surely is that.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Have a great Sunday, whatever you're doing!

St. Corona - Let's Scrap

Hi Everyone

There is a new sketch at Let's Scrap.
Check here.

Here is my take on this sketch.

I used MME papers and accents, On the Bright Side. The chippies were Design Worx, with a mix of Petaloo and Prima flowers. The leaves were punched from a Letack Craft punch.

Here are some close-ups.

I really wanted to use a lot of flowers on this layout, as Austria in the summer is all about flowers and blooms...every window ledge, garden and shop front is just too gorgeous and bloomy!

Thanks for stopping by.
Have a super evening!

This is so Cool - Sketch #9 - Scrap Africa

Hi Everyone

There is a new sketch challenge at Scrap Africa. Please do have a look, as there is really some amazing eye candy from the DT.

Here is the sketch and my take on it.

I used Echo Park Boys Papers and stickers. This collection is really awesome.
I did some artsy cicrles on the background as well, which I did using Staedtler Aquarelle pencils and a stencil. These pencils when used with water give a water colour paint effect.
Here is a closer look below.

Anyways, perhaps you can join us? It would be great if you could.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Have a scrappy day!

Enmarc Blog Hop - Challenge 3

Challenge 3

I'm so happy that you have decided to join us for the Enmarc Spring 2012 Blog Hop!  For those of you who are new to the site, Enmarc is a relatively new Social Network where a wonderful group of scrapbookers encourage and motivate each other in our love for scrapping!

New sketches are posted once a challenge is finished and sample Layouts are uploaded by members to provide inspiration to all. Enmarc sponsors all the challenges where you can win an awesome prize for each challenge entered.

Our forum contains Tutorials, Tips & Tricks and General Discussions.   We believe we have one of the friendliest communities of scrappers on the web, and are so glad that you have decided to check us out during our blog hop!
And now, a little bit about this blog hop:

The Enmarc Spring 2012 Blog Hop starts Saturday 1st September 2012 and runs until 11:59 pm South African time on Sunday 30th September 2012.  That’s right it runs for a whole month.

There are 8 Design Team, Contributing Design Team members and Administrators from Enmarc hosting the blog hop. They will each have a Challenge for you to do and a prize that you can win. Also some of the hosts of the group do not have a Blog, but their challenges will be posted together with all the other challenges on the Enmarc Social Site as well as on their Facebook pages, so make sure you befriend them on Facebook.
Not only do you have a chance to win a prize for each challenge you enter, but if you complete and post an entry for EVERY challenge along the blog hop by 30th September 2012, you're name will be entered into a random draw for a wonderful prize supplied by Enmarc Crafts
On every blog in the hop you must become a follower and leave a little love (a comment) for the host.
Okay, are you ready to start the Enmarc Spring Blog Hop?  Here is the 3rd Challenge.

If you came here from Canica’s Blog , then you are in the right place.

The inspiration for my layout was no other than "Spring" fever and the absolute feeling of rejuvination and energy. In addition to that, was the idea to not waste anything and also use my scraps leftover from the layout, to create a card.
I have put my hand into creating a Spring layout - double page layout and card from the leftover scraps.
So my Challenge to you is to also create a Spring Layout and card (with leftover scraps). Please use at least TWO Enmarc Chippies (Whiteboard/chipboard products) as inspiration to create this double page Layout and ONE Enmarc chippie on your card.

Here’s my layout and card for some inspiration.

Specific Challenge 3 (CH3) Rules:
1.     You must become a follower of my Blog.

2.    Be sure that you use at least TWO Enmarc whiteboard/chipboard products and name them in the comment section when you post your layout to the gallery. You can go to the Enmarc Crafts website’s Catalogue to get the names of the products you used if you do not have the packaging anymore.
3.  Please leave me a comment here on the blog and tell me who or what is your favourite topic to scrap.
4.  You must upload your Layout/Card/Project to the Enmarc Gallery. You must tag your layout correctly in order for it to be entered into the challenge. For my challenge, my tag would be:  SPR2012,CH3 for the layout and the card SPR2012,CH3B  - NO space between SPR and 2012, separated by a comma and then the challenge number with no space either

5. Come back to my Blog and provide a link to your layout in the Enmarc gallery - Hi-lite the information in the URL (address bar at the top of the page where your LO is after you have posted it to the gallery and opened the page again) right click the hi-lited address and click ‘copy’ then back to my blog and in the comments section, right click again and click ‘paste’ and post a comment so I know that you have posted your LO in the gallery.

6. I will randomly select one person who completed Challenge 3 to receive the candy I am offering. Draw will be done not later than 3 October 2012

Ok now its time to hop on over to the next stop – Jeaune's Blog
