This is the start of an inspiration patch, where I hope that fellow scrappers and creators will come and find some inspiration, or even leave some inspiration for me.

Spirit of Christmas - CSI #52

Hi Everyone

Two posts in one day!!! So it means that I was able to complete another layout today for another CSI challenge. I am so enjoying these challenges and they certainly push me to think outside of my little creative box! LOL

Anyways, so here is the challenge.

...and here is my page.

The newsprint paper is Darkroom Door paper and the chevron paper is My Mind's Eye - All is Bright. The alpha's are Websters, the leaves - Creative Imaginations and the flowers Petaloo! The poinsettia's were cut using a Cuttlebug. So quite a mixed bag!!! ;-)

I did some painting on the background using an Enmarc chicken wire stencil and then just some rough painting on the newsprint paper to lighten it up a bit, as it was quite dark.

My journalling is on a tag behind my first photo and this is what it says:
The Spirit of Christmas 2012
1. Joe you mean the world to me and this photo is all about you bringing the Spirit of Christmas to us! You cannot wait for Christmas to arrive and everyday ask when Father Christmas is coming! Your energy and joy at Christmas is infectious! You are the Christmas Spirit itself!
2. Mark, when you are here, it means the family is complete! This means that we are all together and we can all celebrate as a family! You bring the "complete" Christmas Spirit with you!
3. Fudgey, you are just the cutest doggy in this photo! Christmas is about including everyone in our celebrations and you are certainly part of the family! Everyone (including pets) are part of the Christmas celebrations! You, Daisy and Rosie are the sweetest little hearts of Christmas!

Here are 2 close-ups of the clusters.

This truly has been a wonderful Christmas and I am truly blessed to have my family around me, and we can celebrate and enjoy this festive time!

I hope you are having a super day!
Thanks for stopping by!

You are such a photo Diva - CSI #51

Morning Everyone

I hope that you have had a good Christmas!

I have had a really good Christmas and was also on leave for 2 days, so I have had a few days to relax and enjoy the family! We are eating, drinking and enjoying the really hot weather! I will certainly have to visit the gym very early next week!!!

Considering I have had a few days off, I have not really had that much time to scrap, but I did manage to complete this layout for the CSI #51 challenge.

Here is my page.

On the background I did some gesso paste work, and then spritzed over with Enmarc Dazzles Bermuda. I cannot even remember the make of the semi circle paper, but think that it is My Little Shoe Box..but could be mistaken.  The flowers are Bazzill Basics and Petallo and the leaves are cut with my Cuttlebug. The butterflies and corner chipboard are Enmarc and the swirl corner is Celebr8, which was also spritzed with Enmarc Dazzles Spring Green.

The various Alphas are Basic Grey, Echo Park and My Minds Eye.  I wanted to use different Alpha's as the title is quite long and did not want  it to get boring with just one alpha.

Here are some close-ups and these include my journalling. The journalling says: Every time you see the camera pointed at you, you strike a pose.  This is a cute one, while you were swimming at home on the 24th December 2012. So perhaps you are the Christmas Eve Diva!

Well I am hopefully going to have lots of scrappy time today, so might just have something to share with you later again.

But for now, I wish you a super Sunday!
Have a great day!

Summer Fun - MME December Sketch Challenge

Hi Everyone

...And so it 'twas the night before Christmas!! Yes, Christmas eve is here and I still have a few more tags to make and attach to gifts, but I am hopefully now ready for Christmas!!!! ;-)

Before the festivities begin, I want to share a layout that I did for the MME December Sketch Challenge.

MME December Sketch

It really tickled my fancy, as I really wanted to play along and keep the essence of clean and simple lines.

So here is what I created.

This layout was so great to use scraps and bits and bobs! Just the kind I like! So as you can see, I used various bits from quite a few collections. The stamps used were from The Sweetest Thing collection and Lost and Found 3. The twine is from the Indie Chic collection.

Here are 2 close-ups.

I did some spritzing with Dazzles Bermuda on the background.
I think this was a really fun little layout and I enjoyed it so very much.

Okay...let me get back to those tags...
But to you all....thanks always for visiting and your comments..
I wish you all a blessed and joyous Christmas!
Have a super Christmas Eve!

Snowy Day - CSI #50

Hi Everyone

Just a few days left and then it's Christmas! I am enjoying every moment and just enjoying the family time!
I think that's really what Christmas is about! :-)

I know I did a snow layout already, but for us here in Johannesburg, it is such a rare occurance, that I just had to do another one! The CSI challenge was perfect for this project.

This is the layout I created.

I used Carta Bella Winter Fun papers and accents, with Enmarc snowflake chipboards, Design Worx chipboard corner,  Upikit pearls, lace, Prima flower and some ribbon.

Here are some close-ups and also the journalling.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Your comments and visits are always appreciated!
Have a super evening!

Beautiful, One of a Kind - Prima BAP December

Hi Everyone

I am so enjoying my scrapping at the moment and really feel inspired to create some lovely projects! It's so good to feel this way and have so many ideas to run with!! ;-)

So today I share my Prima BAP layout that I created.
Here was the sketch.

2012 December

Here is my version of it.

This layout is of my lovely niece! She is really turning into a beautiful, young lady. I wanted the layout to be girly, but also have a bit of tom boy-ishness to it, as that is exactly what my niece is like! ;-)

I used various Prima papers - Romantique, Sun Kiss, Bird Song and various Prima chippies.  The swirls are Design Worx and washi tapes are My Minds Eye.  All flowers used are Prima.

On the background I used the washi tapes and then painted over roughly with paints and also stamped with Prima stamps. The edge was also painted with brown and pearl white paint. I also used bits of Prima packaging for the paper bits under my flower clusters.

Here are some close-ups for good measure.

Well I hope you are feeling scrappy and are inspired to create!
Hope you have a great evening!

It's December and it's Bloomin Marvelous - OUAS December Challenge

Hi Everyone

Yesterday was a Public Holiday here and so it was a good opportunity to catch up on some scrapping.  I finished this layout for the OUAS challenge and I am almost done with another layout, which I hope to share with you tomorrow.

So here was the sketch challenge.

Here is my version of it.

The title is a bit of a play on words, as it refers to the beautiful daisies in my garden! Here is a close-up below of the hidden journalling, which is the green tag to the right of my layout, which gives you the story behind the layout and title.

December is definitely my favourite time of the year, and as you can see, for many reasons.

I used Bo Bunny Country Garden papers and tags. The chipboard lantern is Enmarc and the fence is Celebr8 and all the woody swirls are Design Worx. The flowers are Prima and Petaloo. I decided to keep the colouring white and green as it emphasises the white daisies. I used a Martha Stewart punch for the border and punches for the leaves also.  The big fern leaves are Cuttlebug cut and embossed and spritzed with Dazzles sprays.

Here are some more close-ups.

Thanks so much for stopping by and having a look.
Hope you have a super evening!

Snow Wonder - Scrap Africa Challenge #12

Morning Everyone

I am so pleased that we have sunshine this morning! After so many mornings of overcast and rainy weather, my spirits are just lifted by seeing the sun!

We have a new challenge at Scrap Africa and it's about using a filmstrip!

Here is the layout that I created.

I used various Prima Papers, but mostly from the Zephyr Collection, Prima Alphas and flowers, and a Prima mask and stamp for the background. I also used Melissa Frances vintage elements. The filmstrip chippie is Enmarc. I added some gorgeous lace and pearls to also add texture.

This layout will certainly be a rare one for me, as snow in Johannesburg is certainly a rare occurance! I loved being able to create a snowy, winters page and thoroughly enjoyed the colours and textures.

Here are some close-ups for good measure.

You have until 31st December to upload your projects!
It would be great if you could play along!
Have a super day!

Christmas Wish List - My Minds Eye Dec Challenge

Hi Everyone

Wednesday has come so very quickly and the week seems to be passing very quickly!

Today I have a MME layout to share with you for the MME December challenge, which was to scrap your wish list.

So here it is.

On the background, I did some circles with paint, I did some stamping and also some ink smudging.
I used the gorgeous All is Bright collection papers and stickers, The Sweetest Thing stamps, 7 Gypsies stamp. Daidsy D's rub-ons and some pearls.

I am quite easy to please and so I really only had 4 items on my wish list! ;-)

Here are some close-ups.

I wonder if you have thought about a wish list?

Have a great afternoon!

Traditions - CSI #49

Hello Everyone

It is so good to actually be sitting down and writing this post to you! This morning I spent quite a few hours doing some Christmas shopping and so my feet are "just a tad" tired! I was so pleased to get most of it done and so I just have one or two left to get. Yay!!!

I have a Christmas layout to share with you today for the CSI #49. Here is the challenge.

I used a Christmas photo from last year and had the perfect papers for this challenge.  My brother had given me the Christmas Papercraft Collection for Christmas 2 years ago and there were some gorgeous papers in this lovely book! So I am pleased to say that I am also scrapping from my stash!!

Here is the layout.

My journalling says:
Christmas time is always a time for all the family to get together and we do Christmasy things. We always do a Christmas Carols by candle light and last year we specifically went to Aunty Steph's Christmas house at the retirement village. The entire house and garden was just one big Christmas adventure. In this photo the kids had dressed up as elves and were posing such cute little pose's for photo's! They are truly so very merry and happy at Christmas time and always spread the Christmas cheer. They are very definitely Santa's little helpers - December 2011

As I said earlier, I used The Christmas Papercraft Collection papers, Bo Bunny and Prima flowers with Bazzill Basics leaves. The Christmas gift chippies are Enmarc and the Cherish card is Kaisercraft, and I also used pearls down the left hand side.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
I hope the Christmas cheer is abundant in your day, today!
Have a lovely afternoon.

Special Times - Enmarc

Hi Everyone

I think the December Christmas stress is setting in and I feel like I am running out of time, with all the things on my "To Do" list...which just grows longer everyday! I love this time of year, but it certainly always brings it's own festive challenges!!!

I created a layout with some lovely Enmarc chippies and their new Maverick Collection papers.

I did some stamping on the background and also chalked the edges quite a bit.
I used Prima flowers and Bazzil Basics leaves.
Here are 2 close ups below.

I really love this little boy and any time spent with him is a special time!

Thanks for popping in!
Thanks always for your comments and kindness.
Have a lovely evening!

Dinnertime Snooze - CSI #48

Hi Everyone

I have a CSI case to share with you today! It includes a photo that I have wanted to use for a long time now, and this Case File was perfect for it.

So here is the Case File.

My take on it is this little number.

My evidence was mosaic and brads and then my testimony was a recipe for my journalling.  I did some sewing for the mosaic effect and I am so pleased with how it turned out.  I wanted to keep that really clean look and think I managed to do that!

My husband really made me laugh last night as he heard me on the sewing machine and came to see what I was sewing.  He said that I couldn't sew to save my life, but for scrap booking I would attempt anything!!! LOL.  As you can deduct from that I do not sew very often!!!! ;-)

Here are some close-ups.

This photo was taken about 3 years ago, when Joe was just 2.  He had a very busy day and was really tired at the dinner table and before we knew it, he had fallen asleep and the little bread on the table had fallen out of his hand! It was too precious for words and a little moment that I will not forget.

Thanks for stopping by!
Wishing you a pleasant evening!
