This is the start of an inspiration patch, where I hope that fellow scrappers and creators will come and find some inspiration, or even leave some inspiration for me.

Happy Birthday Card

Hi Everyone

I have something different to share with you today, other than a layout! Today I have a card!! ;-)
I haven't shared one of these in quite a while! It has been a nice breath of fresh air!

It is my Mothers birthday on Monday and so I wanted to make a birthday card for her. I really hope that she likes it.

I received a wonderful parcel in the post today and that was the little parcel from Imaginarium Designs! I received a gift from them and they have sent me the most amazing little chippies! I am thrilled!!! So I also wanted to use one on this card, and so that is the chippie you see on the bottom right.

I used Pink Paislee Butterfly Garden papers, and then used my Cuttlebug to cut out a few goodies. The stamped Happy Birthday is Inkadinkado, and the flowers from Prima. The teapot I bought recently, but unfortunately has no brand name on it.

Here is a close-up.

I hope you have had a good day!
Wishing you a very scrappy evening!
Thanks for popping by as always!

You make me Smile - Scrap 365 Magazine Sketch

Morning Everyone

I just love the peacefulness of Sunday mornings! It is such a beautiful day again, after a lovely shower in the night, so everything is clean and fresh again! I think it's going to be another scorcher today.

I have a layout to share with you for the Scrap 365 Magazine sketch challenge and is based on this sketch.

I used the gorgeous Teresa Collins Now and then Collection and created this page.

I just so loved these papers and accents and really loved working with the colours and accents. I made an embossed matting behind the left hand photo and also did some stamping around the page with a Prima brick stamp.

Let me show you a few close-ups.

My journalling strip down the right hand side says this: You light up any day and make each one fun and memorable. You say the darndest things and you surely make me smile! I love you!

He is such a photogenic little boy..it was easy to take these cute photo's.

Anyways, I hope you are finding some time to scrap and create.
Have a super Sunday!

No Scrap, Just Chat

Hi Everyone

It's a balmy Saturday evening and my son is already sleeping! The house is quiet and I am just sitting here, doing a little bit of scrapping and enjoying the peace.

Today was an absolutely beautiful day, with temps around 35C.  It was a really hot day and one that I just decided was one to spend with my son and family, beside the pool and just having some quality time.

This year is starting off so busy, that I often find myself really tired in the evenings, because I am trying to get to everything that I need to! I guess that's sometimes just how it goes, but today was my day to relax and enjoy the family and the sunshine.

So no layouts to share with you today, but just a thought to remind ourselves to have an "off" day sometimes, where you just allow yourself to just enjoy and BE.

I hope you have a super evening!

Sleepy Joe - CSI Challenge #55

Hi Everyone

I have another CSI challenge layout to share with you today.

The colours for this challenge were really great and I really enjoyed it! Here is the little number I created.

Evidence: Flowers, Leaves, Diamond shapes, scallops
Testimony: I used "stir" in my journalling
My journalling says this (tag hidden under photo): Joe was exhausted from family festivities, playing and swimming! This was the first day of the festive holidays that we were only meeting the family later in the day! He was in his room and I could hear his vroom vroom while playing with his cars. Eventually there was no sound at all and I went to check on him. He was sound asleep, with his crossed legs, up against the wall. He did not stir and slept for a couple of hours! Officially, festively pooped!! - 27 December 2012

I used a mix of papers again, MME, Echo Park and Dooddlebug. The chipboard is Design Worx.  The flowers are Petaloo and Prima, with the Prima sparkle also. The alpha's are Websters pages.

Thanks for stopping by and having a look.
I hope you have a super evening!

My Boy - CSI Challenge #54

Hi Everyone

I have so enjoyed spending time at home and getting a few things done around the house! It has been really good for my soul! I have also been scrapping a lot and so that has been really great too!

I have a layout to share with you for the new CSI challenge.

This was the first time that a sketch was included and I really loved it! Such a great sketch for my boy pages!!! ;-)  So here is my boy page.

I used suck a mix of papers, Kaisercraft, Echo Park, Crate paper and Teresa Collins.  The same with the stickers and accents, they are all a mix of the brands mentioned, with the addition of 7 Gypsies.

Here is a closer look at my journalling and really tells you everything about this layout.

Some close-ups of the 2 photo groups too.

Ah these kids of ours...that so capture our hearts and grow us as people!!!!

Thanks so much for popping in!
Hope you have a super evening!

Miss You - Scrap Africa Challenge #13

Hi Everyone

There is a new challenge up at Scrap Africa here.

Use postage stamps on your layout, old, new, rubber stamped stamps whatever you have in your stash

Perhaps you would like to play along....you have until the 31st January 2013.

Here is my DT reveal layout - Miss You.

This photo is of my brother and every year I do a layout after he has left to go back to the UK and I always feel quite sad. Scrapping about it makes me feel better! I have some hidden journalling under the photo.

I used Pink Paislee London Market, which is most certainly one of my favourite collections. The chipboard corner is from Enmarc.

To get a closer look at some of the details, here are some more shots.

Do you find too that scrapping is good for your soul?
Have a super day!

Embrace - OUAS Jan 2013

Hi Everyone

I am sharing another layout today, that tells about my OLW (one little word) for 2013 and it's for the OUAS - Embrace.  So yes, one of my previous layouts was also Embrace, but I think it's important to keep talking about it, thinking about it and then lastly living it! ;-)

Firstly the OUAS sketch.

Here is my take on it.

Materials used:
Kaisercraft Madame Boutique papers and accents
Prima flowers and mask
Petaloo Flowers
7 Gypsies tape.
Enmarc Dazzles Clay Pot
Corrugated board
Lace

I have 2 sets of journalling, one behind each photo.  The journalling says this: With the start of a new year I always want to have a thought that will take me forward and be my guiding light for the year, and this year it is the word Embrace - Learn to embrace the good and the extra-ordinary things in my daily life.  Things happen and we don't always know why, but then they bring about a different set of opportunities and events.  Embrace love and friends and the things I love.  Embrace time, moments and joy!!

Here are some close-ups of the clusters.

I hope that you might think of a word that can inspire and carry you through this year.
Thanks for stopping by.
Have a wonderful Sunday afternoon!

Simple & Sweet Memories - Prima BAP Jan

Hi Everyone

I was so pleased that I was able to finish this layout today, photograph and still post it! These long, summer days are just the best! ;-)

I am sharing my Prima BAP layout with you today.
Here was the inspiration sketch.

2013 January

I really loved this sketch and was really inspired to create my take on it. So without further adieu...

I did some spritzing and splash painting on the background and then did some gesso stencil work over that.

I used Prima Botancial and Pixie Glen collection papers and accents. I also used canvas resist leaves and Prima flowers. My chipboard corner is Celebr8.

This pictures were taken in December when all 5 children were together again! I love these fun pictures and reminds me of the lovely lunch we had at my cousin's place.

As always, I welcome your comments and inspiration!
Thanks for stopping by!

Embrace - CSI #53 / Zeus and Zoe Challenge

Hi Everyone

Sorry I have been missing for a few days, but life just happened and time was not on my side! I hope that the rest of the year is not going to be as hectic as the first 2 weeks!

Anyway, firstly my son started Grade R at the primary school today and it was so great that he was so excited and happy! I was a little heart sore, but so pleased that he had an awesome first day! I cannot believe that the time has flown so quickly! So here is a picture from this morning. Isn't he just a sweetie?

Now for the CSI layout that I created for challenge 53.

The colours of this challenge are just so awesome!

This also falls in nicely with the Zeus and Zoe challenge here.
" My challenge for you is to choose your own word that you want to live by in 2013 and to scrap about this word. This can be in whatever way you want: you can make an art journal, a lay-out, a card, an altered item. Whatever you like to record the word that you want to live by."

Sometimes you just do a layout and it doesn't quite turn out the way you imagined it to! This is exactly the way I feel about this layout! I love the sentiment, but somehow it just did not quite turn out the way I wanted it to!

In anycase, my journalling says: The start of a new year always gets me thinking about what I would like for myself for the coming year. My OLW (One little word) for 2013 is Embrace. Embrace everyday and everything that happens in the day. Embrace the good and the extra-ordinary.

The papers are Kay and Company, the chipboard corner Celebr8, alphas Basic Grey, flowers Prima and Petaloo and chickenwire Enmarc.

Maybe have a closer look.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
Hope you have a super evening!

Awesome - Scrap Africa Challenge Sketch no.13

Hello Everyone

Wishing you a very Happy New Year and hoping that 2013 is going to be a stunning year for you and your families! I hope that you are healthy, wealthy and abundantly happy!

There is a new sketch reveal at Scrap Africa and it would be awesome if you could play along. You have until 14 January 2013.

Firstly here is the sketch.

and then...here is the Awesome layout that I created! ;-))))

I just love this collection from Simple Stories - Summer Fresh - and so really wanted to use these papers, which I thought would really go so well with this photo.

I just love this photo of my son and being a New Year and all, it reminds me that time is fleeting and I actually cannot believe that he is growing up so fast!! So the fact that I can scrap these little moments and document his life....how awesome!! ;-)))

I did some masking with an Enmarc chicken wire stencil and then added the little Summer Fresh accents. As the paper itself is a little busy, I wanted to keep the lines quite clean and simple.

Some close-ups for good measure...

Well I hope that 2013 brings lots of inspiration and creative juices your way.....
Have an awesome 1st day of 2013!
