This is the start of an inspiration patch, where I hope that fellow scrappers and creators will come and find some inspiration, or even leave some inspiration for me.

My Retro Boots - Berry71Bleu August Challenge

Hello Everyone

I have had a hectic week and a hectic weekend to match! I am absolutely pooped and this is before Monday even begins! Yikes! Anyways, the joys of family, friendship and scrapbooking all rolled into one.

I have a number of projects to share with you, but I cannot share them all at once, and so will start with my page that is up on the Berry71Bleu blog. It's for the super August sketch challenge.

I love this photo of Joe, where I asked him to pose for me, with his new retro soccer boots on. LOL....such a goofy and funny boy!

We searched high and low for boots in his size and eventually saw these, which Joe was mad about.  I did say that his mates might tease him and he still insisted that he wanted them.  So we got them! ;-)

My journalling tells you even more about his love for these boots! He he he

I used these wonderful and retro felt circles from Chantal van den Berg and also the super chippie from Creative Embelishments. Joe's retro boots and Chantal's retro rounds were the inspiration for the page! ;-)

I used all sorts of bits and pieces and papers from October Afternoon. I was able to get into my stash and make good use of these goodies.

Pop along to Berry71Bleu and check out the gorgeous projects over the past few weeks with Chantal's goodies and Creative Embelishments. It has been a real treat! ;-)

Thanks so much for stopping by!
I hope you have a good Sunday!

Today - Prima August BAP

Hello Everyone

August is almost over and September almost here! This means Spring is certainly on it's way and the sweet evening Jasmine scent is definitely an indication! ;-)

I have completed a page for the Prima August BAP and the sketch was really so fabulous.  I fell in love with it when I saw it.

BAP Jennifersketch

I really wanted to stay quite close to the sketch, to really keep that design, and so went with clean and simple to create my page. I really had to put on the brakes, so that I did not keep adding or doing more! ;-)

Here's the result.

I am really happy with how it turned out. For the background I just did some stamping and then used a stencil and some spritz for the swirls.

I had bought a gorgeous die-cut and had been dying to use it.  It is most surely my favourite die-cut at the moment.

I used the Almanac Collection, which has some wonderful little images that could be fussy cut.

Here is a close-up of the spritzed swirls and the background stamping.

Lastly, here is a shot of my journalling.

I know that you have seen the photo before, but I had printed 2 of the same photo to use on my previous BoBunny Kraft Bag layout, but it did not work out.  So I had this photo and it was the perfect size for this page!  So thought "what the heck" and used it again! ;-) Waste not, want not! ;-)

Thanks for stopping at my little patch today!
I hope you have a super day!

42 - BoBunny Kraft Bags

Hello Everyone

Apologies for being so quiet, but I have been creating in the background and really needed to create, rather than compute! LOL...sometimes one has to do, what one has to do! ;-)

I was asked to create a collage for a friends sons 21st birthday and so I really had to spend quite a bit of time to complete it.  I will share it with you by the weekend (he must see it first before I share it with you...LOL) and then you will understand!!!! It's BIG! ;-)

I do have a page to share with you, that was up on the BoBunny blog last week here.  We were tasked with using the Kraft bags on our layouts.

Here's my page.

I could not bring myself to actually cut this gorgeous bag...LOL...so fold it I did! ;-) It created a really nice little journalling hideaway for my thoughts and words.  It also created a lovely matting for my photo!

The Somewhere in Time Collection is really so amazing....and I really do love it to bits! One can really go the steampunky road with it, or still keep it soft and timeless, as I have tried to do here!

I love the balloons in this collection too and so definitely wanted to use them too!

I am so enjoying mixed media and watercolouring is my absolute favourite! I loooove this stencil I have used and it really does add to the softness of this page!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
I hope you had a super weekend!

Oh so Pretty - Scrap Around the World - August Challenge

Hello Everyone

It's Wednesday and I am looking forward to spending some time at home today.  I have a lot of scrappy things to do and hopefully I can get a lot done today.

I have finished a page for Scrap Around the World August Challenge

I loved this mood board by Marilyn. If anyone knows me, they will know I love clothes and shoes...and those shoes are just amazing! I love the little roses and little vines....wow...so different and beautiful. So this picture and the colouring was the inspiration for my page. I also incorporated the sewing theme into my page.

I used the beautiful Primrose collection from BoBunny along with the cute Stitches stamps from BoBunny.
The layout is called "Oh so Pretty" and my journalling says this: "There is no better attire on a lady, than her most beautiful smile! These young ladies are perfectly attired!"

My sister had made these dresses for them, as they were flower girls at my cousins wedding. They really were so pretty and were the perfect young ladies!

I also incorporated some ribbon and pearls....as this is definitely all part of dress making and sewing.

I used a really pretty diecut for the matting of the photo. It's the first time I have used this diecut and love how intricate it is.

I added some butterflies, hearts and a little bling! All perfect for young ladies! ;-)

I am so proud of these girls...they are so beautiful inside and out!

Thanks for stopping by!
I hope you have a super day!

Forever - OUAS August Challenge

Hello Everyone

I hope that your Monday was a super start to the week.

I finished a page for the OUAS August challenge.

Journalling Theme: "The men in our lives..."

You are free to interpret our theme ANY WAY you like. It is for your inspiration and this theme word DOES NOT need to be part of your title or journalling. But please make sure your layout is based on the sketch below and includes journalling (hidden journalling is fine). Acceptable journalling is MORE than just a sentence, or generic writing such as date/place etc. It needs to be present and at least 3 lines long. Remember, hidden journalling (under a photo/tag or behind your page) is perfectly fine but please DO let us know in your post where your journalling is!

I turned the sketch on it's side and then created a page about a man in my life - my brother, who is 40 this year. He is the youngest of 3 siblings.

So here's my page.

I used a number of different bits and pieces and papers from different Prima collections. I wanted to keep this a masculine page, even though I used a few flower bits.

I did some watercolour effects, as I love doing lately and was very happy with the results.  I also added some gold beads, which I have never added on a scrappy page and thought they made a nice little feature and added some texture.

I have had these ornate metal hinges forever and a day.  I always wanted to save them for a special page and this page of my brother, was the perfect fit.  The metal accents just added to the masculinity. So after about 10 years or more in my scrappy stash, they have finally found their way onto a page! ;-)

My journalling says this: You are always in my thoughts and prayers.  No matter how far you are.  I wish for your happiness and love everyday.  No matter the age, I always look out for you and will always be your sister.  You have grown into a super man @ age 40!!

I really do miss my brother and so wish he would be a part of our daily lives! I wish also that he would find his happiness and would also recognise it, when he found it!! He's a good man and I love him dearly!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Have a super evening!

Scrap Africa Challenge no.33 - Travel Adventures

Morning Everyone

Hey, Hey it's Friday!!!! ;-)

There's a super challenge up on the Scrap Africa blog and it's about Travel Adventures.

Challenge: Tell us about your travel adventures...perhaps your favourite location, or the most memorable trip...anything related to travel. Please include journalling, even if hidden and tell us where it is.
Here are some quotes that you could possibly use as inspiration.

It would super if you could play along!

We have 2 amazing Guest Designers, Galina Sazanova and Nupur Patel...
so please pop over....their work is amazing.

Here's my take on it.

This page is of our adventures in Austria, 2 years ago. Joe just loved every minute of it.

Above is a close-up of the journalling saying this: We had the absolutely best time in Austria! We so loved the outdoors and spent so much time walking, exploring, swimming and just enjoying the beautiful countryside.  Joe was in his element and could not have been happier! I really hope we can visit again soon!

I used October Afternoon papers and accents.

This picture was taken on the first Sunday we arrived in Austria and there was a small beer fest in Aspang
town, to raise money for the Emergency Services.  So they had activities for the kids and the beer fest....it really was festive! This photo of Joe was in the park where it was held....where they did some tree climbing.  Here he was waiting for his turn! ;-)

Thanks so much for popping by!
I hope you have a super day!

Hello Everyone

I am really busy creating in the background.  I have a lot of DT stuff to do, as well as some private projects. Hopefully I'll be able to share them with you soon, but for now I am sharing a Stork Card.

My sister and I went to a Stork party on Saturday and so I had to make one, and one for my sister too! LOL. So the first one I shared in the previous post and here is the other.

The BoBunny Baby Bump collection is really so beautiful! The chipboards, along with the papers, are my absolute favourite! ;-)

I have seen so many Christmas cards being posted...I am getting the Christmas creating gittters!!!! ;-)
Better get to it!

Have a super evening!

A Day to Remember - Sketchabilities #120

Hello Everyone

I really loved the new sketch up at Sketchabilities and so just had to play along! ;-)

Here's my take on it.

This is just such a special page for me, because I don't often have photo's where Joe and I are together. So I loved that we had this photo taken, even though it took HUGE amounts of persuasion for Joe to sit still and also not pull funny faces! ;-) Little boys and ants in their pants!!!!

My journalling says this: It was such a mission to get you to sit still for 2min! You loved running amock outdoors, playing and fishing! You had such a ball! Old Millstream June 2014

We had a family weekend away at Dullstroom, flyfishing, and it was just a wonderful weekend for us all! ;-)

I used one of my favourite stencils and then did some painting....which I am sooooo loving at the moment.
On the circle chipboard I also did some crackle work.

On the chipboard leaves I added some white embossing and was thrilled at the result.

A close-up of my sweet boy and me! ;-)

I will rather add a list of goodies used, as I think this is easier to make sure I list them all.

Collection - Teresa Collins Now and Then / Summer Stories
Blooms - Petaloo
Chipboard Round - Blue Fern Studios
Chipboard Leaves - Celebr8 and Enmarc
Brads - Teresa Collins
Stamps - BoBunny,Teresa Collins and Prima
Washi Tape - My Minds Eye
Stencil - Pronty
Ranger Paint - Lettuce
White embossing powder

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Have a super evening!

BoBunny - Teachers Gift

Hello Everyone

I am up on the BoBunny blog today with a shadow box for a Teachers Gift.

I decided on a shadow box, because I thought it would be really nice to have something that a teacher could hang on the wall and "look to" for some encouragement and inspiration at times.

I used the fun and cool Pop Quiz collection.

I double embossed the Kraft wood apple and just love how it came out! It really does pop off that white background.

I love this sentiment and really hope that teachers everywhere would remember why they love what they do and also remember that they really do have such a big influence on our children's lives.

The embossed chipboard corners came out really great too! After being double embossed, the blue had a nice texture to it. So that was certainly an added bonus.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
I love and appreciate your visits!
Have a super evening!

If you have clicked on one of my creations and smiled then I consider my work a success! My name is Chantal and I live in beautiful Adelaide, South Australia. I began scrapbooking 5 years ago and since then I've never looked back. I've always loved art (particularly cartooning) and through scrapbooking, this passion has been dusted off and reignited tenfold! Yay! I would describe my scrapbooking style as fun, funky, colourful and whimsical. I love to inject lots of personality into my work and I really enjoy bringing memories to life through creativity.

I'm very fortunate and blessed to be a 2014 Scrapbooking Memories Master, and to have my work published regularly in scrapbooking magazines in Australia and worldwide. Plus now I'm also having so much fun designing and making my own scrapbooking embellishments - so that you can enjoy crafting and creating with a lovely collection of cute bits and pieces to play with too! If you see something you like, but would like a larger quantity, please feel free to convo me. I'm also always happy to make up custom orders.

Have lots of fun looking around and thank YOU for considering byChantalVandenberg! :)

A special thanks to Creative Embellishments and Chantal Vandenberg for sponsoring our design team this month!
