This is the start of an inspiration patch, where I hope that fellow scrappers and creators will come and find some inspiration, or even leave some inspiration for me.

Memories with You - Prima PPP

Hi Everyone

I am so pleased to be able to share this layout with you today, as I am really pleased with it and really wanted to get it photographed and posted today.

It is a layout for Prima PPP.

2013 Feb PPP

So here is the layout.

I so love how this layout turned out. To create the textured background, I used a Prima stencil and gessoed the pattern and then coloured it with distress inks. I think it really came out well.
The Prima papers used were from the Almanac collection and reflections collection, as well as the accents. The flowers are also Prima.

This photo is of myself and my sister, and we were probably 2 and 3 years old.

Here are some close-ups for good measure.

Cards

Hi Everyone

The house is all quiet as I am the only one up so early, and this is my best time to create a little, surf the internet a little and generally just have a little quiet time to myself! ;-)

I sat on Friday night and created 3 cards, as I had 2 birthdays this weekend and also attended a funeral yesterday morning, and wanted to give them a sympathy card.

So let's start with the Sympathy card, which I created with Bo Bunny Country Garden papers, with a Celebr8 chippie. I gessoed the chipboard swirl and then spritzed it with Enmarc Victorian Rose Dazzles.
The flowers are Prima and Petaloo.

Next up, we went to a 40th Birthday party last night and so had to create a masculine card, as it was a guy friend of ours.

So for this card, I used Pink Paislee London Market papers and accents.

And then lastly today is my neice's 12th birthday and I wanted to create a soft and gentle card for her.
I really had some wonderful inspiration from Irina here.  She scraplifted a card, and then I scraplifted her card! LOL....
Anyways..here is my version on it.

Here I also used Bo Bunny Country Garden papers, with beautiful Petaloo butterflies, a Basic Grey/Hero Arts stamp and Martha Stewart punch.

We are off to celebrate her birthday this afternoon, so I am looking foward to some wonderful family time.

Have a super Sunday!

My Sweet Blessing - CSI Case File #60

Hi Everyone

It is a real scorcher here today! We came home in the car and it was measuring 38C...it is HOT! But I am certainly not complaining and enjoying all the sunshine!

I have my last layout as CSI - Special Investigator to share with you. I really enjoyed this challenge and love the page I created. In fact, I have so loved all the challenges this past month and have loved every moment of Special Investigating! It was truly an honour! ;-)

Here was the challenge.

Here is my take on it.

I used Teresa Collins papers and brads. The background was created using a "Layers of Colour" stencil and a Prima stamp.  The flowers are also Prima.  My title was stamped on with Upikit alphas.

I wanted to keep a really clean look to this page and so really had to stop myself from adding more! ;-)

Evidence: Hearts and something that drips
Testimony: Using the word Sweet in My Title
I have written my journalling at the back of the layout, as I really wanted to keep this page very clean. My journalling says:
I never could have imagined that you could change my life as much as you have! You have added love, joy and laughter, in so many ways! You have taught me how to become a better person, you have taught me how to be a Mother, but most of all, you have taught me how to love unconditionally! You are my sweet boy and my sweet blessing! I love you dearly!

I just have one close up for you today.

Perhaps you'd like to play along.  Here is the link to the challenge.

Thanks for popping in to say HI!
I really do appreciate your comments!
Have a super afternoon!

Sisters - Bo Bunny Sketch Challenge

Hi Everyone

I hope that you are having a good week and can see the weekend in sight! ;-)

I have a layout that I made for the Bo Bunny sketch challenge to share with you. Here was the sketch.

So I really wanted to use some Ambrosia papers that I still had and created this layout.

This photo is of my 2 cousins, who are obviously sisters as the title suggests.

I used 2 7 Gypsies rub-ons, and they were perfect for this theme. One says: Other things may change us, but we start and end with family. The other one says: The informality of family life is a blessed condition that allows us to become our best, while looking our worst"! I had to laugh at the 2nd one, as I thought it was so true of family life.  Our siblings and parents, always see the best and worst of us! ;-)

Let's have a closer look.

I used Colour Me Crazy chippies by Petaloo and coloured them with paint and then embossed them with gel. I used Bo Bunny flowers and accents from the ambrosia collection.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
I hope you have a super evening!

Time - Prima BAP

Hi Everyone

I hope that your Monday is going well and that it has been a good start to the week.

I was so glad that I took a photo of this layout yesterday afternoon, because if I had wanted to do so today, I would have been washed away! Another afternoon, African thunder shower has just ended and it's still dripping a little!

So I have my Prima BAP layout to share with you today, and I am quite pleased with it.

OUT FOR PUBLICATION

I firstly did some spritzing with Enmarc Dazzles - Victorian Rose and Prima stencil and then did some gesso work with my Prima brick stencil and stamping. I then spritzed some gauze bandage with Enmarc Dazzles Dried Sage and adhered it to the page with some more gesso.  I layered up the circles and papers and then added my Prima flowers and chippies and lastly added 3 Imaginarium Designs chippies.

I used the Prima Songbird collection, with papers and accents. The chipboard alphas are Enmarc.

Here you will be able to get a closer view.

My journalling is about way back when, before marriage and kids, I had soo much time on my hands! LOL...where does the time go now???!!!

Anyways...thanks for popping in!
I really appreciate your comments!
Have a super evening!

P.S. I love You - CSI Case File no.59

Hi Everyone

There is a new case file open at CSI here. If you haven't played along before, you should really give it a shot! It really is a lot of fun.

I am really enjoying being Special Investigator this month and have loved the challenges, which have really been pushing me to try different things. So without further adieu, here is the case file.

I created this page, which brought back so many memories for me.

Evidence: Bird Cage, Branches, Flourishes
Testimony: My Title is a movie title
My hidden journalling behind the photo says:
I still remember this photo of us before we were even married and was actually at Roney and Julie's wedding! I can't believe how young we were! I loved you then and I love you now! This year we will be celebrating our 7th anniversary and I still love you dearly and pray that our love will only get stronger as we grow old together!

I used Pink Paislee Butterfly Garden paper, with Prima flowers, stamp and alpha stickers! These papers are just so beautiful and give me such a feeling of romance.  I did a lot of fussy cutting, which I think just also adds to the romance!

Do you have a photo like this, that just takes you back to a place, where you can remember the feeling, the smells and so many little details??

I hope you have a wonderful evening.

Hi Everyone

There is a new challenge open at Scrap Africa here.  It is all about the season of love and the main accent being hearts. It would be great it you could play along! You have until the 28th Feb.

I also created this for the Zeus and Zoe Feb Challenge here.

Here is my off the page project that I created.

I used the beautiful Teresa Collins Now and Then Collection papers, accents and stickers, with Petaloo flowers. I also used some leaves and beautiful chippies from a prize giveaway I won from Sandie Edwards!

Some close-ups for good measure.

This picture of my son was taken in a park, in the middle of Vienna, Austria last July! I love that he is so unaware of the picture being taken and leaning against this massive old, Oak tree.

Thanks for stopping by!
I hope you have an awesome weekend!

Love - OUAS February Challenge

Hi Everyone

I have really had a very relaxing weekend and have found lots of time to scrap! I have so enjoyed myself and enjoyed every minute that I have been creating and playing. So I have a layout to share for the OUAS challenge this month.

Here is what I created.

This picture was taken on our wedding day - 01 April 2006.
I have some hidden journalling behind my photo matting which says:
I loved you then and I love you now! We are married for almost 7 years, and we still belong together! I pray that our love just keeps growing and that we are always as happy, as we were on this day, 7 years ago.

I did some gesso circles on my background and also did some stamping! I used Pink Paislee Sweetness papers and accents, as well as Pink Paislee Butterfly garden papers! I did a lot of fussy cutting and am really pleased with the result! The gem swirl is Prima.

Thanks for popping in today!
I hope you have had a super day!

Sea (E)scape - CSI Case File no.58

Hi Everyone

There is a new Case File open at CSI and it is really so super! There is a sketch to get you going too! ;-)
Here's the Case File.

The scene on this case file was so inspirational for me and was definitely my creative energy.

So this is what I created.

My journalling is tucked behind the photo and says:
For me, the best holidays are the one's spent at the beach! There is nothing better for my soul than the sound of waves crashing onto the shore, the smell of the wind and the squawking birds overhead! I love this picture of Johann and Joe at Umdloti beach and is always so good for my soul too, when they spend time together and are close! I loved this breakaway! - September 2011

Some close-up shots for good measure ;-)

I used Echo Park papers and used a stamp for the photo frame and then cut it out.  I did some gesso stamping and spritzing on the background. I also used gesso on the gauze to keep it in place and add some texture.  The corrugated matting also adds to the layering and texture and definitely adds to that beachy feel.
I also wanted to incorporate the thick natural twine, as that also adds to the theme.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
I hope you have an awesomely scrappy day!

Watch me Grow - Berry71Bleu Feb Challenge/ MME Gosammer Blue GD Challenge

Hi Everyone

I managed to take a picture of my layout this afternoon, before the clouds rolled in and we had another African thunderstorm!! This is summer for you...scorcher days and then showery afternoons and evenings!

I made that a layout for the Berry Bleu challenge here, which is all about whitespace! I loved the challenge and so definitely wanted to play along! I also entered this layout for the MME/Gossammer Blue GD Challenge too.

So here it is.

This is one of my favourite photo's...especially with that cheeky monkey right in the front!!! ;-)
These are 5 children - Johann's 2 boys, my 2 neices and Joe - and I am just so in awe of the wonderful young people they are becoming and that they are growing up so quickly! They are my Famous Five! ;-)

I used MME Indie Chic Papers, accents, washi tape and stamps. I used a stencil and gesso for the background and then spritzed with Dazzles ink spray. The chipboard pieces are Enmarc. The flowers are Bazzill Basics and Prima.

Time is fleeting and so yes, I really am so pleased to document these special moments! It is not often that these 5 are together, so I am so pleased that I managed to get them to pose for this photo! ;-)

Thanks for popping in here today!
I hope you are having a super day!

Birthday Card

Hi Everyone

I had to make another birthday card for my Mother, as my sister asked me to make one for her.
So I created another card using My Minds Eye products and also entered this card for the MME/Gossamer Blue GD contest.  It would be sooooo awesome to GD for MME and Gossamer Blue!!!!!!

I used Indie Chic papers and accents and the little bee stamp is from The Sweetest Thing collection.

I hope you are having a scrappy day!
Take Care

Love - CSI Case File no. 57

Hi Everyone

2 posts in one day!!! Yeee haaa!!!
I was so excited and thrilled to be asked by Debbi to be a Special Investigator at CSI for the month of February! It is really such an honour and I jumped at the chance to be a part of this journey for this coming month. So you can imagine that for the last month, I have been scrapping up a storm in the background! ;-)

Here is the Case File.

I created this page to celebrate a special, family event 2 years ago.

Evidence: Hearts, Flowers, Leaves
Testimony: I am documenting a love story and hearts added to my journalling spot.

This layout is about 2 people finding each other, after both getting divorced and not being spring chickens anymore. My father in law got married again on 19 Feb 2011 and we were so pleased that he found happiness again and is truly loved and cared for.

The journalling spot is the words that my new Mother in Law read to him and is very special to them...and since this layout is for them, I wanted to use her words: Across the years, I will walk with you, In deep green forests, On shores of sand; And when our time on earth is through, In heaven too You will have my hand!

Let's have a closer look.

I will make a list of the materials used, as it is a mix and match of note! ;-)

Echo Park Victoria Gardens Papers and stickers
Design Work circle chipboard and vine chipboard
Petaloo Flowers
Making Memories chipboard hearts
Basic Grey flower stamp
Prima background stamp
Lace and pearls

Well thanks again, for your visits and comments!
I truly appreciate them all!
Have a scrappy afternoon!

Grade R - Scrap Africa Sketch no.14

Hi Everyone

There is a new sketch up at Scrap Africa and it would be awesome if you can join us this month.

Here is the sketch.

I created a layout to commemorate my sons first day of school, in Grade R. He is loving school so much and is so happy! That for me, is all that is important!! It's been a great start to the year.

I was such a proud Mommy and he was such a big boy! My heart was sore to know that he is growing so quickly, but happy too that he was so excited and happy!

I have some journalling on the "Report" Card and is really a report on the first day of school.

I used Simple Stories papers and accents.  For the background stamping I used a Kaisercraft stamp, the chipboards are Enmarc and the button Fabscraps.

You have until the 14th Feb to upload your projects, should you play along!

Thanks for stopping by and visiting!
Have a super afternoon!
