This is the start of an inspiration patch, where I hope that fellow scrappers and creators will come and find some inspiration, or even leave some inspiration for me.

Documented - Patina Effect Canvas

Hello Everyone

I hope that you are all well.
We had some beautiful rain again last night, so this morning the air is crisp and clean.

I was inspired by Marta Lapkowska and a patina effect canvas that she created.
So I took the inspiration and created a canvas of my own.

I have some gorgeous Pentart products and so this is mainly what I used.
I will list the products at the end.

I didn't just use paints, I also used some Pentart rust effects.  These added lovely, real rust patches.

I know the shape seems a little odd, but I will hang this up on the wall with a canvas string and then it will be perfect.

This canvas is called Document and it is meant to symbolise the documentation of my sisters life and how she has overcome health issues and has started living her life with energy and such determination.

I love how it turned out.
It took quite a bit of time and quite a few layers, but I am really pleased with it.

Carmen is 13 Today - Canvas - Prima BAP March 2014

Hello Everyone

I hope that your Monday was a good one and that it was gentle on you! ;-)
I had quite a busy day today, but luckily at the end of it all, I have found some scrappy and posting time.

I have a canvas which I created for the Prima BAP for March.  Here is the sketch.

BAP March 2014 mani

Here is my take on it.

I used the All About Me collection, along with some other goodies from various collections.

This canvas is about my niece, who just  turned 13 a few weeks ago.  I wanted to keep it fresh and light, since this is now for a teenager!!! ;-)

I did lot of gesso and stencil work, watercolouring, stamping and spritsing!

I did stretch the interpretation of the sketch, but I think it will do! ;-)

Thanks so much for stopping by!
I hope you have a great evening!

Enjoy the Journey - Mixed Media Canvas

Hello Everyone

I started a canvas about 5 weeks ago and it kinda sat on my desk, while I was doing other DT projects etc.  But last night at 9.30pm I had a little bee in my bonnet and finished it off! I was mighty pleased with the end result.

So here is my finished mixed media canvas.

This photo was taken at Salt Rock last year, and Joe was running and playing on the beach here.

I wanted to incorporate some real shells and pebbles.  These were collected by myself at Salt Rock about 30 years ago. It's quite a scary thought that so many years have passed already!!

I painted my chipboard grasses first, then lightly and randomly embossed them, and then added some more white paint for depth.

I used lots of gesso, paints, spritzes, stamps and gauze. All the papers, stickers and chippies are from the really cool Zip-A-Dee-Doodle BoBunny collection. The stamps used were also BoBunny.

Thanks for popping by!
I hope you find some scrappy time today!

Open the Door - BoBunny The Avenues Canvas

Hello Everyone

I hope that you have started your week on a great note and that Monday and Tuesday have been good for you.

I created a canvas using the gorgeous BoBunny The Avenues Collection and wanted to share it with you.

Of late, I have been feeling a little anxious about changes that are happening in my life and also changes that will be happening. I guess we sometimes, all are a little afraid or anxious about change and it is very normal to feel that way. But I also decided that being anxious or afraid, does not really serve me, and that with any change, it is really what you make of it and the mind set you give yourself everyday.

So this canvas was created with the idea, to remind myself that every door that opens is an opportunity and not to be afraid to open that door. Even if I have opened it and it's not quite what I thought it would be, I can always then make another decision. But "open the door" and allow myself the choices!

So here is my canvas.

I just love The Avenues and have so enjoyed creating with it over the past few months.

I love the shutters and the doorways and the soft, beautiful colouring! Just perfect for this canvas.

So how about you..how do you feel about change?

Hope you have a super evening!

Sisters/Friends - Berry Bleu Anything Goes July Challenge

Hi Everyone

I hope you have had a good week, and are seeing the weekend in sight! I am mighty pleased to be home already! Let the weekend begin!!!! ;-)

I have a canvas to share with you today, which I am entering for the Berry71Bleu challenge, here. So here is my project.  It measures about 60cmx60cm.

I used Bo Bunny Prairie Chic papers. The big chipboard is Celebr8, and the alpha chippies are W&M. The flowers are Prima, Petaloo and no-name brands. The swirl crystals are Prima too.

I firstly gessoed the big chipboard frame to the canvas and then added layers of gesso, cheesecloth, sprays and paints. Then I randomly stamped and added fussy cut Bo Bunny hexagon papers on the canvas.  Lastly, I added my photo, with the blooms and bits.

This is one of my favourite photo's of my sister and I, taken at her 40th birthday party. It really is testament to the fact that we are good friends, as well as sisters.

Thanks so much for popping in!
I really appreciate the visit!
Have a super evening!
