This is the start of an inspiration patch, where I hope that fellow scrappers and creators will come and find some inspiration, or even leave some inspiration for me.

Art Journal - Remember 2 Have Fun

Hello Everyone

I seem to be a little bad with posting lately! Life is just a little hectic and I find that I would rather be crafting than sitting behind a pc writing up posts!

Anyways, I am sharing an art journal with you today.

I used up so many goodies from my stash.  It was really cleansing and de-clutter-fying! ;-)

The pages are a little busier than I would like, but I was still happy with the end result.

I love the vintage, retro feel that the October Afternoon bits and pieces added to these pages.

I love the sentiment too and is very much one that I am trying to stick to this year... Remember to Have Fun! ;-)

I certainly did have fun with these pages and it was so good for my soul! ;-)

I hope you had a super Monday! ;-)
Thanks for popping in!

10th Birthday Card

Hello Everyone

Time is flying and the weeks just seem to float past!
It was Joe's Birthday last week and he turned 10.
I can't believe that he is getting so big.

I made a card for him, using up all sorts of bits from my stash.
Most of these were October Afternoon goodies and of course, I also used my distress oxide inks.

Here's a closer look at it.

I don't think I will ever stop experimenting and playing with the distress oxides.
They are just so fabulous.

Anyways, thank for stopping by!
I hope you have a great week!

Retro Art Page Journal

Hello Everyone

After "tagging" you with many taggy projects, today I have a retro art journal to share with you.

Here's the page...pages in fact! ;-)

I used some October Afternoon bits and bobs and DoCrafts/Papermania goodies from my stash.
It has been liberating to do some stash busting.

Here's some closer views.

A lot of time and effort went into this project and I am happy with the way it turned out.

and lastly...

I chose this quote because I love it and every single creative project starts with this process!
I thought it was rather apt! ;-)

Thanks so much for popping in today...
I really appreciate your comments and love! ;-)

Have a super Thursday.

Birthday Card - October Afternoon

Hello Everyone

It's my sons Birthday today and so I have a Birthday Card to share with you.

Firstly, happy Birthday to my Boy! He is 9 today! ;-)
The time has flown and I really don't know where the last 9 years have gone.
But he's a good boy and I love him dearly!

Here's a photo of the big man, in his bed this morning! ;-)

I made this card for him.

I used some October Afternoon bits and pieces along with a Celebr8 stencil and some BoBunny black gesso. I kept it fresh and upbeat...I think perfect for a boy! ;-)

I certainly am happy that I was also able to use some goodies from my stash.

Anyways, off to get some dinner and celebrate a little! ;-)
So enjoy your evening too!
Cheers for now!

Smile - More Than Words Challenge July 2016

Hello Everyone

I have been wanting to play along with More than Words, since the challenge blog started but due to DT commitments and time I was unable to play along, until now! ;-)

Gladly, I can say that this month I really did make some time and was able to create a page for this challenge.
So here's my take...

I basically turned the sketch upside down.

I used bits and pieces from various October Afternoon collections.
I so loved the earlier October Afternoon collections.

You can see the close-up of the title and little bit of journalling above.
I was telling Joe to smile and as I took the photo Sally (the Sharpei) yawned and it looks as if she is smiling a huge smile too! ;-) It is the perfect photo for this challenge! ;-)

One of the October Afternoon collections had a smiley sticker and I knew that I just had to use it too!

Thanks ever so much for stopping by!
I really appreciate your comments!
Have a super day!

The Magic of You - Scrap Africa Pinterest Retro Challenge no.51

Hello Everyone

We have one of my favourite mood boards up on the Scrap Africa blog here for the Pinterest Retro Challenge.  Check out this amazing board.

It's way cool and I had so much fun creating my project.  So here's my take.

If you follow my blog, then you will know I have made some projects, of this lovely lady! This photo is really amazing and I knew it was perfect for this theme.

I used bits and pieces from some of my favourite October Afternoon collections, 5&Dime, Report Card and Thrift Shop.

The title chipboard is Celebr8 and the big circle round is Blue Fern Studios.

To keep the retro theme, I really kept to certain colours and elements and I am so happy with how this canvas turned out.  I know already that it is one of my favourites.

So if you love the 50s and 60s like I do...why not play along with this challenge!

And lastly....a little quote from the lady herself.

Have a super Friday!

My Retro Boots - Berry71Bleu August Challenge

Hello Everyone

I have had a hectic week and a hectic weekend to match! I am absolutely pooped and this is before Monday even begins! Yikes! Anyways, the joys of family, friendship and scrapbooking all rolled into one.

I have a number of projects to share with you, but I cannot share them all at once, and so will start with my page that is up on the Berry71Bleu blog. It's for the super August sketch challenge.

I love this photo of Joe, where I asked him to pose for me, with his new retro soccer boots on. LOL....such a goofy and funny boy!

We searched high and low for boots in his size and eventually saw these, which Joe was mad about.  I did say that his mates might tease him and he still insisted that he wanted them.  So we got them! ;-)

My journalling tells you even more about his love for these boots! He he he

I used these wonderful and retro felt circles from Chantal van den Berg and also the super chippie from Creative Embelishments. Joe's retro boots and Chantal's retro rounds were the inspiration for the page! ;-)

I used all sorts of bits and pieces and papers from October Afternoon. I was able to get into my stash and make good use of these goodies.

Pop along to Berry71Bleu and check out the gorgeous projects over the past few weeks with Chantal's goodies and Creative Embelishments. It has been a real treat! ;-)

Thanks so much for stopping by!
I hope you have a good Sunday!

Scrap Africa Challenge no.33 - Travel Adventures

Morning Everyone

Hey, Hey it's Friday!!!! ;-)

There's a super challenge up on the Scrap Africa blog and it's about Travel Adventures.

Challenge: Tell us about your travel adventures...perhaps your favourite location, or the most memorable trip...anything related to travel. Please include journalling, even if hidden and tell us where it is.
Here are some quotes that you could possibly use as inspiration.

It would super if you could play along!

We have 2 amazing Guest Designers, Galina Sazanova and Nupur Patel...
so please pop over....their work is amazing.

Here's my take on it.

This page is of our adventures in Austria, 2 years ago. Joe just loved every minute of it.

Above is a close-up of the journalling saying this: We had the absolutely best time in Austria! We so loved the outdoors and spent so much time walking, exploring, swimming and just enjoying the beautiful countryside.  Joe was in his element and could not have been happier! I really hope we can visit again soon!

I used October Afternoon papers and accents.

This picture was taken on the first Sunday we arrived in Austria and there was a small beer fest in Aspang
town, to raise money for the Emergency Services.  So they had activities for the kids and the beer fest....it really was festive! This photo of Joe was in the park where it was held....where they did some tree climbing.  Here he was waiting for his turn! ;-)

Thanks so much for popping by!
I hope you have a super day!

Joe's Birthday Card

Hello Everyone

I made a card for Joe using Midway - October Afternoon.

He was very happy with his card, but even happier with the Lego he received! ;-) Little boys and their toys!!

Just crazy how each year seems to go faster than the last one!

Anyways...thanks for popping in.
Have a super evening!

Fun - Scrap Africa Challenge no.20

Hi Everyone

We have a super new challenge up at Scrap Africa here. This is what the challenge is about.

The challenge is to use the colour scheme of blue, green and white, with more than 1 photo.

Please come and check it out and hopefully play along.

Here is my take on it.

I used October Afternoon Midway papers and accents, along with Celebr8 and Wilpro chipboards.
There is some stamping too with BoBunny stamps.

Here are some close-ups.

This was such a fun day for the kids in Aspang Town last year, where they held a Firebrigade day, to raise money for the local Firebrigade.  The kids loved this tree climbing and Joe had a ball.

Thanks for stopping by.
Have a super evening.

First Day - CSI Case File no.78

Hello Everyone

I hope you have had a super weekend! I have just come back from a super weekend away, and just in time to still make it before Case File no.78 closes.

We went to a little town called Dullstroom in Mpumalanga and is renowned for it's fly fishing! It was absolutely just what I needed and was wonderful to fish and relax with family and friends.

I have 2 photo's that tell a story of where we stayed and the fishing we did.

In any case, so here is the case file.

Here is my take on it.

Evidence: Trees, Metal Brad
Testimony: Holder for my journalling and the word "beginning"
This photo was taken on Joe's first day of school this year at Leicester Road Primary School. He is in GR R, which is the year before Grade 1.

My journalling says:
09 January 2013
Joe's first day of Grade R at Leicester Road School. This is the beginning of his school career here, for the next 8 years. He was so excited and proud to wear his little uniform! I am so pleased that he was excited and looking forward to it! He is growing into a fine young man and I am terribly proud of him! Love you, my sweet!

Supplies used:
Simple Stories papers and stickers
October Afternoon Stickers
Bo Bunny stamp
Kaisercraft Stamp
Enmarc Chipboard

Thanks for stopping by!
Have a super Sunday!
