This is the start of an inspiration patch, where I hope that fellow scrappers and creators will come and find some inspiration, or even leave some inspiration for me.

Mothers Day Card - Penelope Dee Mother of Pearl

Hello Everyone

I have had a lovely day at home relaxing and also creating in the background.

Today I have a Mothers Day card that I will definitely use in the future.
Sadly I only got these papers after Mothers Day.
Never the less...I really enjoyed the fussy cutting and the gorgeous papers.

These papers were so pretty, that I really did not want to do too much extra, except fussy cut them and arrange them beautifully! ;-)

The doilies, the roses and the butterflies were all fussy cut.
They are so soft and beautiful! ;-)

I know this card will come in handy, down the line.
So it's stored for now! ;-)

I hope you had a fabulous Friday!
Cheers for now.

Wishing you Well Card - BoBunny Winter Wishes

Hello Everyone

It has been a fabulous long weekend and I am rather sad that tomorrow it is work again! LOL
Anyways...I am still enjoying it while it lasts! ;-)

A friend at work asked me to make a card for another friend that is leaving her church, to go off and pursue her music career.
So I used the BoBunny Winter Wishes collection, as there are some muscial elements in it.

Here is the card.

I used some old music paper as the background too.

I used a gorgeous Design Worx chippie too and some old twine.

Thanks ever so much for popping round to my blog! ;-)
I really appreciate the visits!

Have a fabulous day!

Cards - FabScraps Serenity Collection

Hello Everyone

Sorry for being missing in action for a few days.
I so love having my brother here and it's really so great to spend time with him and the family and sadly he left yesterday evening but now at least, my life can get some normality again! ;-)

I have some cards to share with you, from the soft and beautiful Serenity Collection from FabScraps.
Here is the first card.

I upcycled an old scarf to provide some softness for this card.

Supplies List:
Patterned Paper: FabScraps C77 002 Cherished 2; FabScraps Harmony 2 C77 004
Journal Pack: MC77 001A
Blooms: 4 – 1 small, 2 medium sized and 1 large
Die-cut leaves
Cardstock: soft teal and 2 greens
White Pearl
White Lace
3D Adhesive Foam
Greeting Stamp & writing stamp
Pigment Ink – Versa Magic Sahara Sand & Brilliance Pearlescent Ivy
White Gel Pen
Instructions:
  1. Cut a piece of soft teal cardstock 30cm x 16cm and fold in half.  Use Sahara Sand to ink all the edges.
  2. Use Sahara Sand pigment ink and the writing stamp to stamp from the top right towards the middle and from the bottom left towards the middle.  Don’t use an acrylic block, but just press down with your fingers to stamp.
  3. Tear a 9cm x 16 cm from the stripey Harmony 2 patterned paper and ink the edges with Sahara Sand. The 9cm edges are straight and the 16cm edges are torn.
  4. Stick down this piece in the middle of the card, not gluing the torn edges completely to the edge, so that you can tuck some lace underneath, as well as turn up these torn edges.
  5. Fussy cut 3 envelopes from the journal pack elements, as well as some stamped circles and the butterfly circle and a small butterfly. Ink all the edges and arrange as per the photo.  The 3 envelopes are raised with 3D foam.
  6. I recycled an old scarf for my lacey elements, but any petty lace will do and must be tucked under the torn edges of the stripey paper and glued in place.
  7. Stamp the sentiment with Brilliance Pearlescent Ivy on the writing side of the Harmony 2 patterned paper.  I used a fairly white-ish part, so that my stamping would be clearly visible. Cut out the stamped sentiment and ink the edges with Sahara Sand.
  8. Use 3D foam to adhere the sentiment across the 3 envelopes.
  9. Place your blooms, on the right hand-side above the sentiment, layering them up. Also add the die-cut leaves, which have been highlighted with a white gel pen.
  10. Add some more lacey bits inbetween this cluster, for softness.
I also made a tag from this beautiful collection.

I had received this crocheted doiley in a prize pack and loved that it was the perfect fir for this tag.

Supplies List:
Patterned Paper: FabScraps C77 006 Peaceful 2, FabScraps C77 002 Cherished 2
Stencils:  FabScraps DS35 005 Jungle Twine
Journal Pack: MC77 001A
Blooms: 2 medium sized blooms, 1 green and 1 orange
Cardstock: white
Die-Cuts:  3 Ornate circular die-cuts, 1 very small (approx. 2cm diameter), small (approx. 6.5cm diameter) and 1 medium (approx. 10cm diameter)
Brown Pearls and a brown brad
White and cream lace
3D Adhesive Foam
Crocheted doiley – approximately 7.5cm diameter
Greeting Stamp
Distress Ink – Tea-dye
Pigment Ink – Jumbo Java
Instructions:
  1. Cut a piece of white cardstock 11,5cm x 18cm and distress the edges and ink with tea-dye distress ink.
  2. Cut a rectangle 10.5cm x 16,5cm of Peaceful 2 patterned paper and distress and ink the edges, with tea-dye ink.
  3. Stick down this Peaceful 2 rectangle onto the cardstock.
  4. Place the Twine stencil over the entire tag and again, using tea-dye distress ink, ink over the entire patterned paper, ensuring a fairly even coverage of ink.
  5. Cut an ornate circular die-cut, approx. 10cm in diameter, from the Peaceful 2 paper, using the dragonfly side. Cut another smaller circle die-cut from the Cherished 2 paper.
  6. Ink the edges of these circles with tea-dye and then stick them down, the bigger one top left, just so that the left hand side of the circle just overlaps the left hand side of the tag.  The smaller one, bottom right and slightly tucked under the larger one. The very small one, raise with 3D foam and tuck under the medium doiley, top left of the tag.
  7. Cut out the “Just for You” circle from the journal pack goodies and adhere, using the 3D foam to the centre of the larger doiley. Also add the crocheted doiley and secure with glue.
  8. Add the white lace, under the medium sized doiley and the cream lace for the tag holder, using the brown brad.
  9. Add brown pearls and layer blooms, as per the photo.
  10. Lastly stamp a “greeting” in the top right hand corner using Jumbo Java Pigment ink.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
I hope you have a super, scrappy day!

Celebrate Card & Create Magazine/BoBunny

Hello Everyone

I posted a few days back about the fabulous CREATE magazine that is so fabulous this month and has soooooo much BoBunny goodness in it.  It really is super creative and inspiring.

Here's the link again for the free download.

I created this card, with the beautiful Madeleine Collection.

The sketch was really great and so it was easy to create this card.

I made the flowers myself and I am so pleased with how well they came out.

They did take a bit of time..but I made a large number of flowers in one go, so now I have a little stash on hand, for when I need some! It is really economical too!
I will share a tutorial shortly, where I show you how to make these.

For now....keep the sunny side up!
Have a super day!

Scrap-a-Doodles Design Team 2014 Audition

Hello Everyone

I am applying for a DT post at Scrap-a-Doodles and so this is my audition post to show 3 of my projects and give Scrap-a-Doodles a little taste of what I am about.

My first project is one that I recently did for a DT project at Berry71Bleu and is a canvas - Marilyn. This is vintage style canvas.  You can click on the link and it will take you to the original post and the details on this project. This is one of my favourite projects over the last 3 months or so.

Second is a layout, which I really love as well, and is one about my little family - Today:Enjoy the Little Things. It's a mixed media page, using watercolours and love how it just turned out so perfectly here.

Lastly, I have a card to share - Many Thanks.  It is a thank you card and is a shabby chic/vintage style.

If you would like to see more information on the projects and the materials used, then please click on the links, which will take you to the original posts.

Thanks so much for popping by...
Wish me luck with this audition!
Have a super evening!

Scrap Africa Challenge no.30

Morning Everyone

I am back from my scrappy weekend and it was a blast! It was really nice to meet so many new people and also have a chance to share some of my scrappy styles with the class.

We had a class of 60 ladies...and believe me, it was quite a task to get round to everybody and also answer all the questions.  Luckily I had Wilna Cremer to help me and so we were able to "hopefully" get round to everybody.

I think we were also really lucky, in that, we had a lovely group of ladies and they were actually quite easy. No difficult ladies at all! ;-). So thanks to Cathy van Vollenstee...it was a super weekend!

I was absolutely shattered when I got home last night...but all for the good! ;-)

Scrap Africa has a new challenge up and hopefully you will join us.  It's a Scrap Your Stash challenge....and I KNOW that you ladies all have a stash....so come and play along!

I created this card, using one of the first collections I ever bought....Basic Grey Sweet Threads.

I did a lot if distressing and watercolouring and used rub-ons and chippies. Hopefully a new fresh, vintage look to some old goodies.

I really hope you will join us....

Thank so much for stopping by!
Have a super day!

Gift Box and Card - Primrose Collection BoBunny

Hello Everyone

Megan and I are up on the BoBunny blog today with some gift wrap and cards! It would be super if you could pop along and have a look.

I created a gift box and card for my sister, who has a birthday in 2 weeks time and so it was perfect for this theme.  I used the Primrose collection, which is such a beautiful and amazing collection.

Birthdays are such special occasions and so it's a great time to treat someone with a beautiful card and gift box.

The box is upcycled and was originally a perfume set box. The colors on the original box were luckily perfect for these beautiful Primrose papers.

For my card I used some intricate die-cuts which were layered, so makes this card soft and detailed.

This collection has such beautiful colours and has butterflies too, which are really great for adding those feminine touches.

I love re-using gift boxes, so hopefully my sister can find a use for it too!

BoBunny Supplies:
Patterned Paper: Joy, Time Washed/ Primrose
Cardstock: Sugar Dot
Noteworthy: Primrose
Jewels: Primrose
Stamps: Holiday Wishes
6 x 6 Paper Pad: Primrose
Mini Album: Autumn Song
Blossoms: Blush Daisy

Thanks so much for stopping by!
I hope you have a great evening!
