This is the start of an inspiration patch, where I hope that fellow scrappers and creators will come and find some inspiration, or even leave some inspiration for me.

Happy Birthday Card - Altenew Die and Stamp Set

Hello Everyone

I treated myself to an Altenew die and stamp set a few months ago.
I really love their sets and wanted to try the die-cut and stamp combo.

Here's the card I created.

To colour the small flowers, I used Paperartsy infusions, blackcurrant and then added pearlescent centres and white highlights.

To the big flowers I added some pearlescent to the pollen sacs.
The big flowers were easy to stamp.  The hard part was deciding the colours and tones.

The card of the base was created with distress oxides water. I then added some more stamping for the title and for the corners.

I will definitely be using this set often...all I have to do is find more time in the day!!!! ;-)

Have a fabulous day...
Thanks so much for the visit!

Always in My Heart Card - Penelope Dee - Rustique Collection

Hello Everyone

I was able to play some more with the gorgeous Rustique and Wanderlust collection from Penelope Dee and I created this vintage card. I really love how this card turned out.

I used oxides to colour the chipboard and then added some fixative, to give it a little shinier look. Not hugely so, but allowed the colours to show up better on the shiny chipboard.

I also added little bits of leftover lace around the edges of the card.

I used a new die-cut set to cut these leaves. I really love this little set.

Thanks ever so much for stopping by!
I really appreciate the visit.

Have a gorgeous day!

You are Awesome Tag - Denise van Deventer - Penelope Dee Wanderlust

Hello Everyone

School holidays are almost at an end, but I have really enjoyed not being rushed in the mornings and afternoons! ;-)

I have a mixed media tag to share with you today, using the gorgeous Penelope Dee Wanderlust collection! ;-)

I created a rusty background, using Gathered Twigs distress ink.
I then used a Penelope Dee stencil and some crackle paste, over some leftover paper strips.

I also used some Penelope Dee Colour Me flowers and chipboard pieces.
These were coloured using distress oxides.

I then used a Penelope Dee stamp for the sentiment.

I really love how this tag turned out! ;-)

Thanks so much everyone, for visiting and leaving some love!
I really do appreciate it! ;-)

Have a fabulous weekend!

Today is a Celebration Tag - Distress Oxides

Hello Everyone

I hope you had a good weekend and that Monday has been kind to you! ;-)

A few weeks back I was playing with my distress oxides and embossing powders.
I used an embossing folder over a distress oxide inked background and then added some white embossing over the raised edges.

I then also added some white spritz over the entire tag.  It gave it such a soft and gorgeous look.

I don't think I will ever stop playing with my oxides and inks.
There is just so much that one can do! ;-)

Lastly I added a bit of a burnt, dark edge to the tag, which I also love.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today!
I hope it inspires you to play, play play!!!! -)

Cheers for now

Embossed Tag - Distress Oxides

Hello Everyone

Apologies for being missing for a week. I have been rather busy creating and preparing for classes and so haven't had much time to sit in front of the PC.

I have an embossed tag to share with you today.
I also played with my distress oxides and love the result.

Here's a closer look.

I tried to only touch the raised edges with the embossing sponge and so these are the areas where the most heat embossing took place! ;-)

Thanks so much for popping in, for this short post.
I hope you have a fabulous day!

Thankful Mini Album - FabScraps Memory Lane Collection

Hello Everyone

I have another FabScraps project to share with you today!
It's a FabScraps overload at the moment...but all good I think! ;-)
I created a mini album with Memory Lane and I absolutely adore the end result.

I was able to fussy cut, to my hearts content! ;-)

I also had fun with my distress oxides and stamps to create the backgrounds.

Here is a close-up of the background.

To give you an idea of how I created this album, I also put together a tutorial.

For This Project You Will Need:
FabScraps Memory Lane Collection paper: MC105 001A – Card Kit
FabScraps Memory Lane Collection paper: C105 001, 002
FabScraps Chipboard: DC105 001 Album, DC105 006 Die Cut Word
Tim Holtz Distress Oxides: Iced Spruce, Worn Lipstick, Seedless Preserve
White Gel Pen
White pearls
Die-Cuts: Medium Oval, Medium Rectangle, BoBunny Flourish, Butterfly, Sizzix Small Tattered Florals, Sizzix Framelits Die Set 5PK – Labels Fancy
Crackle Stamp, BoBunny Sentiment Stamps
Liquid Pearls Dark Chocolate
Craft Mat

Instructions:
1. Die Cuts:
Cut 3x Medium Oval die-cuts from the patterned papers
Cut 2x Medium Rectangle die-cuts from the patterned papers
Cut 3x Medium Rectangle die-cuts from the patterned papers
Cut 2x Large Sizzix Framelits – Labels Fancy from the patterned papers
Ink all the edges with Iced Spruce
2. Album:
Dab lines of Worn Lipstick and Seedless Preserve on the craft mat. Spritz with water and then place the album pieces in the watery ink.  Keep moving the pieces round to soak up all the ink and also provide complete coverage. Allow this to dry.
Add more of the 2 colours separately, again, over the album pieces. Allow to dry.
Once completely dry, use the crackle stamp and Iced Spruce oxide to stamp over all the album pieces.
Ink all the album edges with Iced Spruce oxide.
3. Fussy cut various flower clusters and bits and pieces from the patterned papers, to use as decoration.
4. Adhere the various fussy cut pieces, die-cuts and bits to each album page. Layer and raise some of the elements.
5. Colour the chipboard word with Iced Spruce oxide ink and once dry, outline with a white gel pen.
6. Add sentiment stamping with Iced Spruce oxide ink.
7. Add Dark Chocolate liquid pearl centres to the fussy cut flower centres and to the butterflies.
8. Add white pearls to the cover and outline the chipboard design with a white gel pen.
9. Add white gel highlights to the branch die-cuts.
10. All Done!

I really love how this little album turned out! ;-)

Instructions:
1. Sizzix Big Shot Machine:

Make various sized flowers and assemble the flower layers with glue.
Tweak all the petal edges with a tweezer and then add gesso for highlights
Cut a doily with the BoBunny die-cut and stripey paper from the card kit
2. Using the Fabscraps stencil, an ink sponge and the distress paint, stencil 2 feathers on the manila tag. Dab the paint gently onto the tag, through the stencil. Allow this to dry.

4. Using the distress oxides, colour the manila tag, with the different shades. Use circular motions with an ink sponge. Spritz with a little water and allow to dry.
5. Cut away a 3rd of the doily and adhere it to the right-hand side, of the tag.
6. Fussy cut leaves, flower clusters and individual flowers from the floral, patterned papers and ink the edges with distress oxide ink. Add dimension to these flowers and leaves with a rounding tool and foam mat.

8. Add the handmade purple flowers to the central cluster. Add a pearl to the centres and highlight the edges with gesso.
9. Cut the “grateful” sentiment from the patterned papers, ink the edge with oxide ink and adhere to the tag.

Birthday Card - Distress Oxide Inks/ Tattered Lace Dies

Hello Everyone

Welcome to Tuesday.  I hope this week is treating you well! ;-)

I have another Birthday card to share with you, using the Forest Green distress oxide ink.
I just love this colour to bits! ;-)

I think the colouring and design, make it rather dramatic.
I love the result.

I really love these die-cut leaves too and the black, with white highlights are so pretty.

I used distress embossing powder for the chippie and again love the colour and texture.

This is one of my favourite cards, for quite a while!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
I really appreciate the visit!

Happy Birthday Card - Distress Oxide Inks

Hello Everyone

I had some fun last week at my scrap and chat evening and played with my distress oxide inks.
I made a Birthday Card.

I used the new Forest Moss green, which I know is going to be a favourite of mine.
I used it to colour the chipboard leaves.

I really love the colour combo on this card and those little red poppies just make it pop.

I hope my friend liked her Birthday Card and felt special in receiving it too!

Have a Blessed Monday...
Cheers for now

I kept it simple, but hopefully the layers kept it interesting.

Hello Everyone

I hope that you are having a good weekend! ;-)

Today I have a Penelope Dee mixed media layout to share with you, using the gorgeous Victoria collection.

I fussy cut so many bits and pieces, but it was really worthwhile in the end.

I also used punches, which I haven't used in ages! ;-)

I coloured the chippies with distress oxides and then used a white gel pen for the highlights.

I used a picture that I have had for ages, of myself, and one that I have wanted to use for ages too! ;-)

Thanks so much for stopping by!
I hope you have a gorgeous day!

Thinking of You Card - BoBunny Stamps

Hello Everyone

I hope that you are having a good week!
I am back with a "Thinking of You" card today, which was created with a whole lot of BoBunny stamps.

I used distress inks and distress oxides to colour the card, flowers and leaves.
I also used BoBunny pearlescent to add dimension to the flower centres.

I love my stamps and I would not be able to create without them at all.
They are definitely a crafting staple.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
I really appreciate the visit!

Kind And Tenderhearted Mixed Media Layout - Penelope Dee Victoria Collection

Hello Everyone

Today I have a mixed media page to share with you.  Wow, it has been ages since I last created a page. It really was so enjoyable and it turned out exactly as I wanted.
I used the fabulous Penelope Dee Victoria Collection.

This photo was taken a number of years ago, of my niece.  We were at the park and she was sitting at the end of the slide, very deep in thought.

I did a fair amount of fussy cutting and also used my favourite Sizzix die-cuts.

I used Penelope Dee stamps and stencils for the background too. I just adore that butterfly stamp.

I made use of my distress oxides too.  These are a staple for any of my projects! ;-)

Thanks so much for stopping by!
I really appreciate the love and comments!
Have a super day!

Birthday Card - BoBunny Stamps and Distress Oxides

Hello Everyone

My Mom turned 81 on Sunday and it really was such a lovely time, spent with the family and celebrating with her.

I made a card for her, using lots of BoBunny stamps and distress oxides.

I used a Martha Stewart punch to make the punched edges and coloured it with distress oxide.
In fact, the grassy bits were coloured with distress oxide too.

I used the gorgeous Dandelion stamp again too! ;-)

Sometimes one doesn't need too much just to make a pretty and elegant card.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Have a fabulous day!

Art Journal Page - The more you praise and celebrate life, the more there is in life to celebrate!

Hello Everyone

Today I have an art journal page or pages...should I say, to share with you.

I had some time this past weekend and I happened to start watching Marta's 30 Products Journal Collage using Mixed Media Techniques and I actually loved the look of the page and so decided to craft along. It wasn't over one sitting, but was probably over two days...and this is what I created!
Thanks so much Marta for the lovely inspiration!

Here is what I created.

I loved the result and I loved the sentiment too! ;-)

It was soooo good to use up some scrap stash and even some BoBunny packaging! ;-)

I used acrylic paints, distress inks and all purpose inks.  It really was so much fun.

Here are a few close-ups.

Thanks ever so much for stopping by!
Have a fabulous Friday!
Have a great weekend too!

Just Because - Mixed Media Tag - Copic Markers and Distress Oxides

Hello Everyone

Today I am sharing a mixed media tag with you.

I happened to see some Copic Markers on sale in October and had never tried them, so I ordered them on-line. Sadly the supplier over-sold on-line and so they did not have on hand anymore.  But they ordered more for me and I waited 7 weeks for them to arrive! LOL
I had to be very patient! ;-)

I watched quite a few YouTube videos and then gave it a shot to colour some hydrangeas for this mixed media tag.
Here is the result.

I used distress oxides for the background and then stamped and coloured the flowers, which I later fussy cut.

Here is a closer look at the flowers and my Copic work.

I think I can certainly practice some more, but I do love how it turned out.

I wasn't sure if Copic was really for me...but I have decided that they definitely are and the way they blend is just amazing! That was the deal breaker for me! ;-)
So I will probably be adding to my very small collection, in the near future! ;-)

I don't think anyone ever said, "I have enough craft goodies"!!!!! ;-)

Thanks again for stopping by!
Have a fabulous, fabulous day!
