This is the start of an inspiration patch, where I hope that fellow scrappers and creators will come and find some inspiration, or even leave some inspiration for me.

Art Journal Page - A Bird does not sing because he has an answer, he sings because he has a song

Hello Everyone

Welcome to Saturday and the weekend and welcome back to my blog! ;-)

Today I have an art journal page to share, that I created a while back and just love the vibrant colours of.

I used some Basic Grey goodies that I have had in my stash for years, along with acrylic paints, distress paints and inks.

The sentiment was also a rub-on that I have had for years and was so pleased that it still worked a charm.

I also used some Tim Holtz stamps, which are some of my favourite.

The colour combo surprised even myself and I was so happy with the way it turned out.

If you haven't tried art journalling, it really does give you the freedom to really play and experiment.

Well I hope you get some time to create and play over the weekend.
I hope to find some time too!

Have a great one!

Make Today Count - Art Journal Page

Hello Everyone

Today I have an art journal page to share with you.

I had an idea to create a botanical scrapbook patterned type paper from stamps and stencils.
I really had to much fun with this page.

Here it is.

I used the Tim Holtz Wildflowers stamp set and Going Somewhere stamp set.
This created the background. Then I used a hydrangea stencil and modelling paste.
I used distress inks to colour the stencilling.  I added paints for the centres.

Here are some close-ups.

The stencil was from a UK magazine, Simply Cards & papercraft.
It's just super! ;-)

Thanks so much for stopping by!
I really appreciate your love and comments!
Have a super day!

Art Journal Page - Tim Holtz & Penelope Dee

Hello Everyone

Today I have an art journal page to share with you all.
I reaaaaaallly love this one! LOL
I think the colour combo just makes it.

Anyways...you can decide.

There are a number of layers to this page, even though you might not think so.
At least five different layers of paints, inks, stains and gesso.

I once, again, used the gorgeous poppy stamp from Penelope Dee.

I so love this sentiment too.
It's a fabulous quote!!

Thanks so much for popping by my blog today!
I appreciate all the love and comments.
Have a fabulous day!

General Tag - Tim Holtz and Penelope Dee

Hello Everyone

I have been on a tag frenzy lately and I have had so much fun, playing and experimenting.

So here's my latest one.

I used the Penelope Dee poppy stamp, along with lots of Tim Holtz goodies and stamps.

The background was made with distress paint, which I dabbed over the wood stencil. Then I rubbed over with distress stains and inks.
The paint resists the stains and inks and makes for a gorgeous layer.
Lastly I used my flower/swirl stamp and created another layer on the background.

The poppies were stamped and coloured with acrylic paint and a sponge.
Then I fussy cut them all.
They really pop off the background.

Anyways...thanks so much for stopping by!
I hope you have a fabulous day!

Art Journal Page - Curiosity

Hello Everyone

I have really been enjoying my art journalling and have really tried to spend time experimenting and just playing! ;-)

One never knows how these pages will turn out and they certainly take on a life of their own! ;-)

So here's the one I finished.

I don't do many projects with bright and vibrant colours and so I very happy to try something different.

I was really lucky to be able to purchase some Tim Holtz stamps recently and so have been happily playing along with these.

This page is all about my art journey at the moment, which is one of curiosity, experimentation and just starting somewhere and seeing where the journey goes.

These pages do take a bit more time but are really so worth the effort.

Have you tried something different lately and what is your curiosity?

Hope you have a curious and inspired day!

Mixed Media Tag - Scrap Africa Mood Board no.77

Hello Everyone

There is a fabulous new mood board up at Scrap Africa here! ;-)

Please pop over and have a look at the inspiration from Valerie Ouellet and from the Design Team.

Here's the fabulous mood board.

I went for a very artsy tag with this mood board.
I really just wanted to try something very different.
So here is my inky result! ;-)

I used a Tim Holtz, Penny Black Inc. and Penelope Dee stamp, along with some Distress Inks and water. It was very good fun.

I did a lot of fussy cutting, colouring and then some more fussy cutting.

Here are some close-ups.

There was a lot of time and effort spent on this tag, but I was really pleased with the result.
Just some stamps and some inks!

It would be awesome if you could play along! ;-)
You have until the 31st August to play along!

Have a super evening!
