This is the start of an inspiration patch, where I hope that fellow scrappers and creators will come and find some inspiration, or even leave some inspiration for me.

Sing Lil Bird - Scrap Around the World October Challenge

Morning Everyone

It's so nice to be able to not rush this morning.  I am off for 2 days, as it's school holidays and so decided to spend some time with my son. A great way to start a week! ;-)

So he is sitting here eating his breakfast and I am just quickly doing this post.

I finished a page for the October Scrap Around the World Challenge....
The mood board is really super.

The inspiration from the mood board, was that picture of the girl with her eclectic shorts and I immediately thought of the Zip-A-Dee-Doodle collection from BoBunny, as well as the colouring.
The sentiment was also so gorgeous and I have had these photo's of Joe for a long time now and it fitted perfectly.  The puzzle pieces cam together quickly! ;-)

So here is the page.

These photo's were taken in 2012 when Joe was still at nursery school and they had a end of year concert.  He was dressed as a Macaw and had to sing and dance with his class.  They were all sorts of animals. He really did sing and dance and was not afraid to do his part.  It was really so precious!
So hence the title....Sing Lil Bird.

These little birdies at the bottom of the page just fitted in so perfectly with this theme.

I had to include this photo, which shows his little tail feathers.  He couldn't stop waving it around!!

This is a close-up of the journalling. Isn't that the sweetest little face?!

I did some gesso, stencilling, watercolouring and stamping on the background.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
I hope you have a super day!

You - Challenge no.27 Scrap Africa - Stars and Stitching

Hello Everyone

We have a new challenge up ate Scrap Africa and it's about Stars and Stitching.
We also have some super prizes up for grabs, so please pop along and have a look.

Here is my page for the challenge.

I used the fun and fabulous BoBunny collection Zip-A-Dee-Doodle Collection.

One Saturday afternoon Joe was playing in the front garden with Stella, our helper, and by the end of it, Joe and the dogs were soaked.  He came and sat down on the steps in the sun to dry off and I took this photo of him.  In that moment I was just thinking of where he might be in the future and where this cute boy might go. So this page was created...wishing him to Reach for the Stars - Do What you Love - Dream - Imagine and Create.

I did some sewing as well as hand stitching on this page.

I really love this page and how it turned out. Even the stars that are matt and shiny in some places, are perfect that way.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
I hope you have a super, scrappy day!

Beauty - Mix and Match - BoBunny

Hello Everyone

I am up on the BoBunny blog today with Gabi and Maryia, and we are "mix and matching" the BoBunny collections. Please pop over and have a look at their fabulous pages too! ;-)

It is actually quite fun doing this, and it's quite amazing how many collections you can actually mix and match together to create a page.

So here is my page.

I used a combination of Zip-A-Dee-Doodle, Pincushion, Head Over Heals,Woodland Winter and Fright Delight collections. Can you believe that?! I made sure that I incorporated black, as I needed to ground my photo on the various patterned papers.  The black also adds to the slightly grungy yet shabby feel!

I made some flowers with die-cuts and instead of using leaves, I used some wool, which was rather thready.
It added a different texture to the page, which I loved!

Since a large percentage of this layout was created with Pincushion, I thought it would be a nice touch to include some sewing and sewed my buttons to the page.

BoBunny Supplies:
Patterned Paper: Boyfriend/ Head Over Heals; Collage / Zip-A-Dee-Doodle; Pincushion, Doilies, Toile, Backstitch / Pincushion
Stickers: Cardstock Sticker / Woodland Winter
Noteworthy: Pincushion
Buttons: Pincushion
Jewels: Fright Delight
Chipboard:12 x 12/ Pincushion
Stamps: It is Written
6 x 6 Paper Pad: Pincushion
Blossoms: Harvest Orange Pansy

Thanks so much for visiting today!
I really appreciate your visit!

Enjoy the Journey - Mixed Media Canvas

Hello Everyone

I started a canvas about 5 weeks ago and it kinda sat on my desk, while I was doing other DT projects etc.  But last night at 9.30pm I had a little bee in my bonnet and finished it off! I was mighty pleased with the end result.

So here is my finished mixed media canvas.

This photo was taken at Salt Rock last year, and Joe was running and playing on the beach here.

I wanted to incorporate some real shells and pebbles.  These were collected by myself at Salt Rock about 30 years ago. It's quite a scary thought that so many years have passed already!!

I painted my chipboard grasses first, then lightly and randomly embossed them, and then added some more white paint for depth.

I used lots of gesso, paints, spritzes, stamps and gauze. All the papers, stickers and chippies are from the really cool Zip-A-Dee-Doodle BoBunny collection. The stamps used were also BoBunny.

Thanks for popping by!
I hope you find some scrappy time today!

Sorry for missing in action for a few days, but yikes, I had a busy week! I don't suppose that it's going to get any better as the festivities begin, but I will be sure to post a few projects over the next few days.

There's a new sketch up at Scrap Africa and is actually a sketch that I did! Not sure if I should be telling you...but I hope you like it! ;-)

Here is my take on it, using BoBunny Zip-A-Dee-Doodles.

I just love the holiday photo's of Joe and this BoBunny collection is so fun, so is perfect for the theme.

I hope you will pop over and check out our Special Guest Designers work - Riikka Kovasin...she is truly amazing. It would be super if you could play along too!

Beach Boy - BoBunny Zip-A-Dee-Doodle

Hello Everyone

I have had such a great start to the week, with 2 sets of happy scrappy news...firstly the Berry Bleu DT announcement and then secondly a publication email.

Then a little parcel was delivered to the house today and is was my birthday present from my husband! I asked him for some Gelato's and, man oh man, this girl is soooooo happy! I can't wait to start playing with them! My birthday is only on Saturday but he knew that I couldn't wait to have a look, so I have opened them and hope to play a little later!!!! This is one happy girl!!! ;-)

For the South African ladies out there, I thought I would share this info with you.  I really did not think we got Gelato's here in South Africa, but you can check this site here and their prices are really reasonable!

Okay, now to actually get to my new layout for BoBunny using the Zip-A-Dee-Doodle collection. Here is the page I created for the BoBunny blog today! You are welcome to click on the link above and you can go and see what Maryia created as well.

We had recently been on vacation to the coast and I thought that the Zip-A-Dee-Doodle Collection would be perfect for a "beach" page, as it has the lovely blues and greens! It is also such a fun collection and so is also perfect for this theme.

Fussy cut elements from this collection were layered and added to this page, which created texture, as well as interest on the page.

To add to this "beach" theme I added gauze and gesso, which gives one the feeling of the fish nets and also is a flowing element, which draws the eye across the page.

BoBunny Supplies:
Patterned Paper: Journal, Meow, Zig Zag, Authentic, Creative/ Zip-A-Dee-Doodle
Stickers: Dimensional stickers, Combo Stickers/ Zip-A-Dee-Doodle
Jewels: Fright Delight
Trinkets: Zip-A-Dee-Doodle
Chipboard: 12 x 12 Zip-A-Dee-Doodle
Stamps: Distressed Textures
Misc Me Stickers: Zip-A-Dee-Doodle

Thanks so much for stopping by!
I hope you have a super Monday!

A Day to Remember - MIX IT UP - Bo Bunny

Hello Everyone

I am so thrilled, my first Bo Bunny DT project is up on the blog here. Rhonda Van Ginkel and I were tasked with mixing up the collections to create a page.

Please pop over and have a look! ;-) These new collections are really gorgeous.

Here is my page that I created.

"This photo was taken quite a number of years ago, December 1995, when I was living in London and my brother and parents had come over to visit me. My brother and I are standing in Trafalgar Square, feeding the pigeons. It's such a wonderful memory!"

BoBunny Supplies:
Patterned Paper: Fright Delight Ghouls, Zip-A-Dee-Doodle Collage, The Avenues Shutters
Cardstock: Brilliant Blue Vintage Double Dot, Jade Double Dot
Chipboard: Silver and Gold 12x12, The Avenues 12x12
Brads: The Avenues
Jewels: Licorice, Zip-A-Dee-Doodle
Noteworthy: The Avenues
Blossoms: Denim Blue Zinnia, Denim Blue Daisy
Stickers: Zip-A-Dee-Doodle Combo

I added some gesso to my photo and to the edges of my torn pages, to soften them and allow them to merge into one another, and with the background!

I am a very stingy scrapper and like to use everything, and nothing goes to waste. So my other tip is to use the in between bits of the chipboards. You will see I used the beautiful Silver and Gold chipboard swirl, as well as the in between bits for embellishments.

Thanks so much for popping by!
Hope you have a super Sunday!
