This is the start of an inspiration patch, where I hope that fellow scrappers and creators will come and find some inspiration, or even leave some inspiration for me.

Be You Mixed Media Layout - Penelope Dee Meadow Collection

Hello Everyone

I am back today with a layout of my Mom.
These photo's were taken when she was in her 20's.
She is now 81.

I used the pretty, pretty Meadow collection from Penelope Dee.

I did some flower stencilling on the background. I added white highlights and contouring to the stencilling.

This collection really has such fabulous wording. I had to use them, they are just so apt.

I fussy cut bits, as I always do and then also used some die-cut leaves and chippies.
I coloured the chippies with distress oxides.

Thanks ever so much for stopping by!
I really do appreciate your visits.
I will be round your blogs soon for a visit.

Have a fabulous day!

Farewell/Retirement Card - Penelope Dee Rustique & Travel Notes

Hello Everyone

Penelope Dee really have had some great collections and I am still enjoying Rustique and Travel Notes.

I had to create a card for a colleague at work, who is retiring at the end of the month and so used these 2 collections to make a card, but also a little book of memories, all in one.

I went for the vintage look! ;-)

All the little flowers are handmade.

Here's a little look at the inside, that has quite a few pages for messages and signing.

I included some little messages etc.

Below you can see all the various pages and bits.

Lastly, just a pic of one of the little notes again.

I really hope it will be special and meaningful for Marianne.
I know that this is one of my favourite projects to date! ;-)

Wishing you a fabulous and enjoyable day!
Thanks for the visit.
Cheers for now.

Always in My Heart Card - Penelope Dee - Rustique Collection

Hello Everyone

I was able to play some more with the gorgeous Rustique and Wanderlust collection from Penelope Dee and I created this vintage card. I really love how this card turned out.

I used oxides to colour the chipboard and then added some fixative, to give it a little shinier look. Not hugely so, but allowed the colours to show up better on the shiny chipboard.

I also added little bits of leftover lace around the edges of the card.

I used a new die-cut set to cut these leaves. I really love this little set.

Thanks ever so much for stopping by!
I really appreciate the visit.

Have a gorgeous day!

Vintage Valentine's Cards - BoBunny Charmed Collection

Hello Everyone

I still have some vintage Valentine's Day cards that for some or other reason, I haven't shared yet.
I used the gorgeous BoBunny Charmed Collection.

I also handmade some flowers from BoBunny cardstock for these cards, using the Sizzix die-cut set listed below.

Here was my second card.

I did a lot of layers and added various textures to this card.

On both of these cards I had also used embossing folders that I hadn't used for ages. They really do add some gorgeous texture.

Thanks so much for popping by!
I hope you have a stunning day!

Special Love Mixed Media Layout - Berry71Bleu

Hello Everyone

Apologies for having dropped out of cyberspace for a little while.
It was school holidays and then Easter.  My brother was also here from the UK.
So sadly blogging took a back seat.

It was really quality and quantity time with my family! ;-)

I am back, however, today with a vintage layout for the Berry71Bleu challenge this month.

Here's the gorgeous mood board.

I created this mixed media page of my Grandparents.

I used the gorgeous Barn Market vintage papers from Riddersholm Design.

I did some intricate gesso stencilling around the photo too.

The gorgeous chipboard piece is a Blue Fern Studios piece and was aged, using gesso and all purpose ink.

I also did a fair amount of stamping on the background too.

I really love how this vintage page turned out. Vintage certainly does not have to be dark and dreary,

There is still time to play along.

Our wonderful Sponsor this month is:

Vintage Tag - Graphic 45

Hello Everyone

Today I have a vintage tag to share with you.
I really had soooo much fun with my inks and stamps and of course, some gorgeous Graphic 45 pieces, that are from some of my earliest scrappy stash.

So here it is.

I used a lot of BoBunny stamps and distress inks on the background.

These butterflies were just fabulous and so just had to be fussy cut! ;-)

Thanks so much for coming to see another of my tags today.
Hope you have a good evening!

In Good Company

Hello Everyone

My sister and I went on an adventure yesterday to Parkhurst, to find a shop of someone she knew from years back....only to not find the shop...BUT, we did find a treasure trove called "In Good Company".

This shop was a creators dream....with the most amazing vintage goodies, party goodies, Christmas goodies....we shopped up a storm.  So for the South Africans, there is one in Parkhurst and another in Claremont, Cape Town.  Do yourself a favour and visit them, you will be blown away!
Not only that, you will be bankrupt by the end of your visit too!!!!! ;-)

Here are some of the goodies I bought yesterday.

I bought some vintage mugs for my brothers 40th birthday and some other goodies, which were so kindly and beautifully wrapped, so I cannot show you them here.

I have also been scrapping up a storm in the background and will share lots of it, with you soon!

I hope your Christmas shopping is going well. ;-)

Have a super evening!

My First Book - CSI Case File no.109

Hello Everyone

Monday sure was a busy day! I hope you have had a good one.

I finished my page for the new case file at CSI...it is a goodie.

Here's my take on it.

Evidence: Books stacked, Mimic the architechural details
Testimony: The word read
This photo is about the first book that I have ever owned, one that I bought for myself.
My journalling is a tag in the little folder behind the photo that says Memories.
My journalling says this: This was the first book I ever bought for myself. It was bought at a fete or something but I remember how proud I was that I owned a book. I read it from cover to cover and many times over! It was the first of many books that I bought and loved! 1983

I used a combination of Prima School Memories collection and 7 Gypsies, along with some DoCrafts. Quite a mix match.

I wanted the page to have a bit of a vintage feel, as this book is quite old.

I love reading, and this was certainly the start of my love affair with books! This, however, is probably the only book that I for certain know the Title and the author...I am just horrid at remembering book titles and authors. BUT ask me any song title or artist and I could tell you. I wish I knew why that is! LOL

Anyways, thanks for visiting today!
I hope you have an awesome day!
