Snap Shot - Scrap Africa Sketch Challenge no.52

Hello Everyone

There is a great sketch over at Scrap Africa and the start of a new challenge. Perhaps it's really time to play along! ;-)

So here's my take on it.

This was Joe's first year in the swimming team and I was so proud of this boy! He really trained so hard and even though he was tired at the end of the season, he kept with it and was a great little athlete. I have a little envelope under the photo, where I have put some journalling about this past swimming season.

I used the BoBunny Pop Quiz collection, along with a little bit of Lemonade Stand.

There's really some super inspiration over on the blog from the Guest Designer and Design Team...

There's some yummy goodies up for grabs too.

Grade 2 - BoBunny Pop Quiz

Hello Everyone

I hope you had a good, scrappy weekend and that Monday has been gentle with you! ;-)

This weekend I had some time and went through some of my photo's and realised that I had not yet scrapped Joe's first day of school this year. So I pulled out Pop Quiz from BoBunny, along with my stickable stencils and created this page.

I created the background by first using some watered down gesso to create a central working area. Then I stuck down my stickable stencils alpha's and inked in and around them.

I then added some gesso stencilling and stamping, before adding my photo and other bits.
I kept some space under my photo for some journalling cards and so have documented the details of this school year there.

It really is scary how quickly these kids seem to grow!!!!

Thanks for stopping by!
I hope you have a super evening!

BoBunny - Teachers Gift

Hello Everyone

I am up on the BoBunny blog today with a shadow box for a Teachers Gift.

I decided on a shadow box, because I thought it would be really nice to have something that a teacher could hang on the wall and "look to" for some encouragement and inspiration at times.

I used the fun and cool Pop Quiz collection.

I double embossed the Kraft wood apple and just love how it came out! It really does pop off that white background.

I love this sentiment and really hope that teachers everywhere would remember why they love what they do and also remember that they really do have such a big influence on our children's lives.

The embossed chipboard corners came out really great too! After being double embossed, the blue had a nice texture to it. So that was certainly an added bonus.

I love and appreciate your visits!
Have a super evening!

Pencil Holder - BoBunny Pop Quiz

Hello Everyone

Today is voter's day here in South Africa and so I have had another chance to catch up with some scrapping and creating, Joe's homework in between, voting and just enjoying an autumn day at home.

After I created the Teachers Gift recently for a BoBunny DT project, my son was saying that he really wanted me to make something for him too.  So I decided to make a pencil holder, as his was a bit small for all his pencils and crayons. So I also used Pop Quiz.

Since this is going to be a very functional and used pencil holder, for a 6 year old, I kept it simple, with not too many embelishments, as these would make it difficult for him to handle.

I found this at our local hardware store, and was perfect for this pencil holder, as it has different heights.

At least now, all his pencils and crayons, glue, scissors and ruler can all be found in one place and his Mother won't have to pull out her hair every time Joe has to do his homework!!!!! ;-)))

Joe is really pleased with his new pencil holder and has already started using it! So that surely makes me happy too! ;-)

Thanks so much for stopping by!
I hope you have a super Wednesday.

Me and My Boy - BoBunny Mix it Up

Hello Everyone

BoBunny is giving away gorgeous prizes for 40 days, so if you haven't popped over yet to their blog, then it's a good time to scoot over, as they are already on day 7. There are so many chances to win! ;-)

I am up on the blog today with a layout that I really love and I really also had so much fun making it.

Out for Publication

I created this layout using 4 collections - Baby Bump, Pop Quiz, The Avenues and Modern Miss. I love that these collections are so versatile and can be mixed up to create a page, with such a great, finished look.

I went with a fresh and modern design, which compliments the 3 main collections nicely. In this design, I was also able to use the fabulous washi tape, which is my new "go to" BoBunny supply! I simply love it!

Since this page is about my son and I, I kept the flowers to a minimum. Here I  used BoBunny petals,  more of the chipboards and diecuts as embelishments, to keep the styling more general. I also used stamps on the background to add little touches of interest.

This little journalling chipboard was just perfect for my thoughts. It really tells the story of this page and photo! My son gave me the "thumbs up" on this page, so I was really thrilled about that!

BoBunny Supplies:
Patterned Paper: Great Expectations/ Baby Bump; Study Hall/ Pop Quiz; Authentic, Selfie/ Modern Miss
Cardstock: Jade Dot
Stickers: Cardstock Sticker/ Modern Miss
Brads: Baby Bump
Chipboard: 12 x 12/ Modern Miss; 12 x 12/ Pop Quiz
Stamps: It is Written; You're Invited
6 x 6 Paper Pad: Modern Miss; Pop Quiz
Petals: The Avenues
Washi Tape: Black & White Patterned

Thanks so much for stopping by!
I do so love your comments...
Have a super Saterday!

Teachers Gift Idea - BoBunny

Hello Everyone

I am up on the BoBunny blog today with a teachers gift, using the Pop Quiz Collection. This collection is really so super cute and I am still going to create some school pages for Joe with this collection.

I wanted to create something that would be really pretty but also functional.  So I decided to alter a clipboard and also a pen/pencil holder.

The clipboard holds a pad of sticky notes (the square just above the pencil) as well as the white little notes at the bottom and also the large paper clips. The bottom part of the clipboard is actually a little pocket and so really, a number of things can be held in there.

Here's a close up of the pocket.

I used the gorgeous new washi tapes to decorate the pencils and then I altered the tin. I even re-used a really cute little BoBunny tag that had been on the Kraft burlap pleated lace.

I will have to hide the pencils as my son has already had his eye on them. He says he loves the design on them and that they will come in very handy in his pencil box!!!

BoBunny Supplies:
Patterned Paper: Class Clown, Homework, Library, Study Hall/ Pop Quiz
Stickers:  Combo Sticker/ Pop Quiz
Noteworthy: Pop Quiz
Buttons: Pop Quiz
Brads: Pop Quiz
Jewels: Pop Quiz
Chipboard:12 x 12/ Pop Quiz
6 x 6 Paper Pad: Pop Quiz
Blossoms: Buttercup Daisy, Denim Daisy
Petals: The Avenues
New Kraft: Wood Shapes School
Washi Tape: Pop Quiz

Please pop on over to the blog to also see what Keri created.

Have a super scrappy day!
