This is the start of an inspiration patch, where I hope that fellow scrappers and creators will come and find some inspiration, or even leave some inspiration for me.

Live Beautifully, Dream Passionately Canvas - Make It Prima March

Hello Everyone

I found some time on the weekend to play along with the Make It Prima this month.

Here's the board.

March

I love the soft and pretty colours.

So here is my take...a canvas.

I really dove into my stash and used up a lot of different Prima goodies and collections.

Here are some close-ups.

Some of these Prima flowers are a good few years old! So I was really pleased to use them.

Thanks ever so much for stopping by!
I hope you have a super day!

Always Be Fragrant Art Journal Page - Graphic 45 Botanical Tea

Hello Everyone

So nice to just chill on a Sturday morning and just have a little bit of time to work on the pc and add a post here! ;-)

In the week I finished an art journal page, which I absolutely love.
The background is all watercolour effects and stamping, which is just what I so love playing with.

So here's the page.

I used Prima stamps and some 49 and Market stamps for the background.
Then I fussy cut some of my favourite Botanical Tea bits, from Graphic 45.

I just love the soft colours and feel of this page.

The watercolour effects always give a soft and blended feel to any background.

I love Roses and always have my nose in them to see if they smell. LOL

I love the sentiment too...Always be Fragrant...

Thanks so much for popping past my blog today!
I hope you have a super and creative Saturday!

Birthday Card - Prima CAT September Challenge

Hello Everyone

It is my neice's Birthday today and so I made 2 cards for her Birthday.  One is from us and the other from my parents.

The first one I used the gorgeous Rossi Belle Collection.

I used lots of textures paste, inks and stamps.

Here's a closer shot of the flower cluster.

I loved how it turned out.
My niece really liked it too and that is most important.

I played along with the Prima CAT September challenge.

Catseptcolor

I will share the other card with you tomorrow.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
I hope you have a super evening!

Hello Gorgeous - Prima BAP June 2015/ Take It Make It Challenge June

Hello Everyone

I hope that you had a super Thursday! It's another very cold day in Johannesburg and I can already feel that now that the sun is starting to disappear that the cold is creeping in! UGH!!!!

Being a summery, African girl, I hate the cold and Johannesburg being so high up, really does have extreme temps.  So the mornings we freeze and by the afternoon it's quite warm and then by the evenings we are wrapping up again! LOL....the winter blues! ;-)

Okay enough moaning about the cold....I have something VERY hot to share with you today! I made a canvas for the Prima BAP as well as the Take it Make it June Challenge, which is all about texture.

To explain the HOT...this man has caught my eye for a while now and when he opens his mouth to speak, I am weak at the knees! LOL...He is really one, hot dude and so decided to do a canvas, about this hunk! Gerard Butler.

Here was the Prima sketch.

June 2015 BAP keren

Here's my canvas.

I had used up my chipboard pieces from the Engraver collection and was left with a chipboard shell, which I decided to use as my background and create the texture.

Prima_Engraver_Chip

This is what it looked like before.  I cut off some bits around the edges and then stuck this down onto the canvas.  I then added lots of gesso and colour, along with my new Prima stamps, which I absolutely love.
I mixed Gathered Twigs Ranger Distress Paint into my gesso and lathered it in and around the chipboard.  Then I went and coloured the edges with some Esperesso pigment ink and also stamped on it too, with various Prima stamps.

I used up lots of Prima bits and pieces and just added layers with them.
I kept the canvas very masculine and so kept the flowers to a minimum, and the styling also simpler, along with metal cogs and accents.

Thanks so much for stopping by to check out my eye candy!!!! LOL
Hope you have a super day!

Sisters - Prima BAP February

Hello Everyone

I finished a page for the Prima February BAP.  I kinda struggled with the sketch, but eventually I was able to put my own spin on it and think it turned out okay.

February-sketch-2

Here's my take on it.

I used the All About Me Collection, along with some Blue Fern Studios chipboard pieces and Prima blooms and Petaloo blooms.

I wanted to keep the styling light and fresh.

I used some of the squares around my title and sub title, to pull everything together.

Here is a close-up of the journalling.

I used some shimmer sprays on the background with a stencil and so when photographing the page, it was a little difficult.  I guess this is also why the writing does not appear sharp.

"Being a sister myself, I know that it's not always easy to agree on everything and always get along! But I love seeing the two of you enjoying each others company and really having fun together Dec 2014"

These two girlies are my neices and it's really scary to know that they were babes just yesterday and today they are young ladies!!

Thanks for stopping by!
Have a super evening!

Remember - Scrap Around the World November Challenge

Hello Everyone

From a cold and miserable Johannesburg....!!! We are having such strange weather, it is just untrue!
I hope that summer will return very shortly! ;-)

I am sharing my entry for the Scrap Around the World November challenge.  The mood board is really amazing by Zuzia.

I love the vintage feel of this board, the music sheet, the wood boards and the purples and pinks in the beautiful bunch of flowers.  So these were the inspiration seeds for the canvas I created.

Here is my canvas.

This is a Christmas gift for my sister.  She is such a "nosy parker" though and so already caught glimpse of it, on my table on the weekend. In any case, I did not tell her who it was for.

The photo of this beautiful lady, is my Aunt, Berendina (Dina for short) and she was also my sisters God Mother.  She was a really special lady in our lives, as she was like our second Mother. I will type up some journalling, which will go on the back of the canvas.

I used old music sheet and then bits and pieces from the Kaisercraft Art of Life Collection. I did a lot of fussy cutting, and used it in between the flower clusters and around the page. I also used the wood grain paper from the BaseCoat collection.

I did gesso, stencilling, stamping, watercolouring and painting to create the background.

Here is side on of the cluster.....which gives you some idea of the depth.

This was a really special project for me and I really went through a range of emotions while creating it, from sadness to sorrow and grief and then happiness and fun memories. I am sure that my sister will feel the same and I hope she likes it as much as I do.

Thanks for stopping by!
I hope you have a super evening!

Enjoy Every Minute of Everyday - Scrap 365 July Sketch

Hello Everyone

Wow...I can't believe it's the 01st August! The time is just flying!

It's my Dad's birthday today as well, and so wishing my Dad a super Birthday!

I completed a page for the Scrap365 July Sketch.

I turned the sketch on it's side and this is what I came up with.

I used Fancy Pants Collecting Moments collection.  Along with that I also used some Enmarc chippies, some Basic Grey chippies and the Kaisercraft Love card.

I did some watercolour drips over my stickers strips, along with some gesso stencilling and then stamped.

I love this page of my 2 boys! ;-)

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Hope you have a super weekend!

13 - Prima PPP

Hello Everyone

I hope that you are having a restful weekend and that perhaps you have also found some scrappy time.
I am just pleased that after so much rain and overcast weather, we have finally had a few patches of sun here and there. It's raining for now, but it means I can scrap and hopefully get ahead with some DT stuff too.

I have a Prima page to share with you for the Prima PPP this month. I loved the colours and so was very eager to play along.

2014 March ppp

Here is my take on it.

I used a Prima stencil which I have had for ages for the background. I spritzed it with some Enmarc Dazzles.
I actually used a combination of Prima collections, it was kinda using up scraps for this page.  The background is from a very old collection Reflections - Shamlimar, along with a new colletion page from School Memories, with some Lifetime, Songbird and All About Me thrown in too. A Prima mix! ;-)

My niece turned 13 2 weeks ago and this photo was taken on her birthday.  I have some journalling inside the folder, behind the photo. It was pretty windy when I took these photo's, so it was a little difficult to keep some of the stringy bits from flying around.

Here's a close-up of the stencilling and stamping on the background.  I also added some gesso dabbing for added texture.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Have a great Sunday!

Zeus and Zoe DT Layout / CSI Case File no.75

Hello Everyone

The week is steadily moving along and hope that at the half way mark you are still doing okay! ;-)

I am sharing a layout with you today, using Donna Salazar Designs papers and the Zeus and Zoe DT kit. I must admit that I really loved working with the Donna Salazar papers, they were thick and beautiful!
It was my first time working with Donna's papers and I would certainly recommend them! ;-) The aplha chipboard stickers were gorgeous too!

So here is the page that I created.

I first used a Prima stencil for the background painting, and then outlined the painting with a brown marker. I added some splats and then added the paper circles, stamping, chipboards and flowers, kitty cat and buttons.

This photo is of my 3 neices, being flower girls at another cousins wedding! They really looked so beautiful and were truly little angels!

You can find Donna Salazar Designs on this link and the super Zeus and Zoe etsy goodies here.

I am also using this page for the CSI Case File no.75, which consists of this.

Supplies used:
Prima Stencil, stamp and flowers
Donna Salazar papers and alpha chipboards
Petaloo flowers
Zeus and Zoe buttons and kitty
Enmarc Chipboards

Hope to see you back soon!

Isn't she Lovely - Prima PPP

Hello Everyone

I hope that you have been having a good weekend!

I have had quite a busy one actually, and really had to prioritise, to find some scrappy time! ;-)
I had my neice's 1st birthday party yesterday and it was quite quite a distance away and then also had my in-laws stay over last night, and they only left this morning.  So yes, I only managed to get a few hours in this afternoon.

I finished my Prima PPP layout. This was the colour scheme.

2013 May PPP

Here is the page I created.

I used the Prima Song Bird collection papers and accents, with chippies from Enmarc and Celebr8.  The title is Celebr8 and the other 2 chippies Enmarc. I also used some some Enmarc Dazzles to colour my gauze.

You might think that the young girl looks vaguely familiar and you would be right if you guessed it was me! I was 23 here and this was my wedding day back in 1994, November 26. I was living in London and this photo was taken in Ealing, at the house where we lived, before getting into a London taxi and making our way to the church.

This is the first time I have ever scrapped this event and it was quite nostalgic for me, while creating this page! Seems like a lifetime ago. Such a happy and beautiful day it was!

I had recently also purchased the Prima Mixed Media 7 border stamps and I used one here, which I thought was so very pretty.  I loved this lace border stamp.

Well thanks for stopping by to have a look.
I hope you have a super evening!
