This is the start of an inspiration patch, where I hope that fellow scrappers and creators will come and find some inspiration, or even leave some inspiration for me.

You're a Star - Sketchbook365 Dec Challenge

Hi Everyone

I am wondering if you are all as hectic as I am? Trying to get everything done before Christmas....
Ah well, I guess that's part of the festive season too! ;-)

I have played along with the Sketchbook365 Dec challenge and this is the sketch.

Here is my take on it.

I kept pretty much to the sketch, and even did some sewing! ;-)  I used the Smarty Pants collection from Simple Stories!

My journalling pretty much tells the story and yes, this is a really proud Mommy! ;-)

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Hope you have a great day!

Summer - Sketchbook365 November Sketch Challenge

Hello Everyone

I hope that you are having a super Saturday and hopefully finding a little bit of scrappy time too.

This morning we went to Joe's Grade 1 Information Day. I cannot believe that my son will be in Grade 1 next year.  It seems like a moment ago he was still a baby and now he will be starting school. The time just seems to pass so quickly!!!

Anyway, I have a page to share with you for the Sketchbook365 November Sketch challenge.

Here is my version of it.

I used the Palm Beach collection from Websters Pages, along with a Prima stencil for the gesso embossing, Fabscraps,Enmarc and Sassafras chipboards and an Upikit stamp, along with some My Minds Eye washi tape and enamel dots.

I did some gesso dabbing on my chipboard piece with a sponge and then spritsed it with some Enmarc Dazzles. I love the grainy, sandy texture that this effect gave.  Here's a close-up below.

I really tried to keep this page simple, and really had to keep myself from adding anything more.

This is another photo from our recent holiday by the sea. Joe was swimming in a tidal pool, and I sat on the side and took photo's of him! He was rather chilly here and I kept telling him to get out, but trying to get him out of the water was pointless.  He still swam for another half hour or so, and by that time the sun was already setting. It certainly was such a fabulous time for us both! ;-)

Thanks for stopping by!
Have a super Saturday!

Millstream - Sketchbook 365 September Challenge

Hi Everyone

Hope you are having a great start to the week and that your Monday has been a good one.

I have made a page for the sketchbook 365 September challenge.

So here's my take on it.

I did some gesso and crackle on the background and love the rustic feel that it added to this page.

I did the same crackle technique on my lettering.

It took quite a bit of time cutting all the little bits, but think the effect was worth it in the end.

I really wanted to scrap this beautiful photo and is one of the stunning cottages that overlooks one of the trout dams at Millstream in Dullstroom.  We went fly-fishing there in the beginning of July! This was taken in winter time, so I can just imagine how beautiful it must be in the summertime. Peaceful, serene and beautiful is what Millstream is all about.

Supplies used:
Heidi Swapp Vintage Chic papers and die-cuts
Celebr8 fence chipboard
Various cutting dies
W&M chipboard alpha's

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
Hope to see you soon!

Not All Who Wander Are Lost - CSI Case File #83 / Sketchbook365 August Sketch Challenge

Hello Everyone

Well I am soooo happy to say that my weekend has started, as tomorrow is a public holiday! So I have 3 days to relax and hopefully lots and lots of scrappy time.

I have a page to share with you today for the new CSI challenge here and the Sketchbook365 challenge here.

So my page incorporates the CSI themes and colours, and the sketch used is the one above.

Evidence: Stripes, Ledger Pattern, Stamps
Testimony: Journey, Place
I have put my journalling on the back of this page:

This is Joe standing on the top of Schneeberg, the highest mountain in Austria! It is such an awesome place, where you can stand and look for miles and miles! It literally feels like you are standing on the top of the world.

Instead of Joe turning the telescope down and looking into the valleys, he preferred to look up and see the sky, clouds and birds that were flying overhead.

He had to reach up on his tip-toes, to get his eyes to the viewer. It was so cute to watch him and he was enthralled.

The journey up the mountain is also a magnificent train ride, that takes you to the edge of your seat! It is a steam train that is helped up by a chain, as the angle is so steep! It is the best train ride we have ever had!

Schneeberg, was certainly one of the high-points of Austria! ;-)

Supplies used:
Teresa Collins Far Away Collection
7 Gypsies Stamps
Enmarc Chipboard Frame
Wilpro Chipboard Arrows
Stencil and paints

Thanks for stopping by!
I hope you have a super evening!

Gone to the Beach - Scrap Africa Sketch no.19 / Sketchbook 365 July Challenge

Hello Everyone

I hope you had a great weekend and a great Monday!

There is a new sketch over at Scrap Africa here, and it would be awesome if you could play along.  Here is the sketch.

Here is my take on it.

I did a lot of cheesecloth, gesso and spritzing on the background and also added some sand gesso too!

I used DoCrafts Papermania Ahoy There collection and it was perfect for these little photo's of Joe, on the beach at Umhloti Sept 2011.

The sanded gesso and cheesecloth added lots of texture.

I am also entering this page for the Sketchbook 365 sketch challenge, which is remarkably, a very similar sketch.

So thanks for stopping by.
Your visits are truly appreciated.
Have a super evening!
