This is the start of an inspiration patch, where I hope that fellow scrappers and creators will come and find some inspiration, or even leave some inspiration for me.

BoBunny Brads and Handmade Flowers

Hello Everyone

Apologies, for being missing in action for a few months. Life has been crazy, as you all will know, but hopefully we are getting back to some new normality!

Today I am going to share some cards with you and also have some fun with brads.
These are little bits that we often forget about and yet are really versatile and cute.

Time and Place_Brad Flowers_Denise_29 May 01

So to start off, I made flowers and leaves by using BoBunny Stamps. I embossed them and then watercoloured them and added brads to the centres. This really was so much fun and I created a whole lot more than I actually needed.

Time and Place_Brad Flowers_Denise_29 May 02

Time and Place_Brad Flowers_Denise_29 May 03

I then went about making the cards, using these flowers and leaves, some lace and other Time & Place bits and bobs.

I also used brads to create and secure the bows for these cards.

I cannot tell you how many brads I have in my stash and I can tell you that I am really excited to get stuck in and use even more for flowers and cards.

How many brads do you have in your stash, just waiting to be used?

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today and we really hope to see you back tomorrow.

Have a beautiful day!

Adventure Layout - Penelope Dee PostCard Collection

Hello Everyone

This layout really took me back a few years, to before I was even married and Johann and I were still dating. That is a lifetime ago....LOL

Anyways, I used the Penelope Dee PostCard collection for this adventure layout.

We had taken a trip on the steam train from Pretoria to Cullinan and then had a picnic there for the day and then travelled back again on the train.  It was a fabulous day.

I layered up lots of fussy cut bits, from the patterned paper, behind the photo. I love the vintage envelopes, tags etc. from this collection.

I used lots of stamps to add to the postage, vintage feel.

I handmade the little blue flowers and then added touches of brown to the edges.

I still have lots of plans for the remainder of this collection but just need time to play some more.
Soon..... :-)

This was a fabulous walk down memory lane and I loved creating with these papers. They made me very nostalgic! ;-)

Have you had a walk down memory lane lately??

Have a super day!

Chin Up Buttercup Mixed Media Layout - Penelope Dee Utopia

Hello Everyone

I love the name of this collection....Utopia!!! Such a fun and fabulous collection from Penelope Dee.

I had this photo of my niece and thought that this collection would be perfect for it.

I fussy cut the artsy bits and then also cut circles for the background. I then did some water colour techniques and splashes with distress oxide. It gave a lovely and soft effect.

I also fussy cut flowers which I layered up and used for my embelishments.

I love the retro,whimsy feel! :-)

Free Spirit Mixed Media Layout - FabScraps Free Spirit

Hello Everybody

I am back today with a FabScraps layout, using the gorgeous and beautiful Free Spirit Collection.

This layout is of my beautiful niece. She was at the beach when this photo was taken, in the morning sunlight.

I used a palette knife and pink paint to create the splashy and artsy background.

As per usual, I also did a lot of fussy cutting for most of the leaves and some of the flowers.
The rest of the flowers were handmade from FabScraps cardstock.

I also added some more blooms to the dream catcher on the patterned paper and gave them dimension.

I love this colour combo and this collection is definitely one of my favourites.

Thanks so much for popping in today!
I really appreciate all the love and visits.

Have a fabulous day!

Beloved Aunt - Penelope Dee - Be You Collection

Hello Everyone

I have a new Penelope Dee page to share with you and this is such a special page for me.
This page is devoted to a special Aunt of mine.

I used lots of the Penelope Dee stamps on the background and then fussy cut the gorgeous hexagons.

The photo I used was of my beautiful Aunt under a flowering plum, right at the beginning of Spring.
I think this photo is just perfect, as she blooms in every single way and has been such an inspiration to me.

I fussy cut the letters for the title and then stamped Aunt. I wanted the title to flow with the design element on the page.

I coloured the Colour Me Flowers with Fired Brick Distress Oxide and love how they turned out, along with lots of die-cut leaves.

I also handmade little pink flowers and filled the centres with Nuvo drops.

Thanks ever so much for stopping by!
I hope you had a great weekend and good Monday.

Cheers for now.

Farewell/Retirement Card - Penelope Dee Rustique & Travel Notes

Hello Everyone

Penelope Dee really have had some great collections and I am still enjoying Rustique and Travel Notes.

I had to create a card for a colleague at work, who is retiring at the end of the month and so used these 2 collections to make a card, but also a little book of memories, all in one.

I went for the vintage look! ;-)

All the little flowers are handmade.

Here's a little look at the inside, that has quite a few pages for messages and signing.

I included some little messages etc.

Below you can see all the various pages and bits.

Lastly, just a pic of one of the little notes again.

I really hope it will be special and meaningful for Marianne.
I know that this is one of my favourite projects to date! ;-)

Wishing you a fabulous and enjoyable day!
Thanks for the visit.
Cheers for now.

I love Coffee the Daily Grind Layout - CSI Case File 255 FabScraps

Hello Everyone

I hope that you are having a super weekend! ;-)

FabScraps is sponsoring CSI this month and so I was asked to create a page for the new Case File.

EVIDENCE
  • solid white background
  • scallops
  • stripes
  • hearts
  • dots
  • rhinestones
  • ribbons/bows
  • circles
  • donut (or other food accents)
  • decorative border
  • seal or other animal
  • glitter
  • stars/starburst/ asterisk
  • texture paste
  • heat embossing
  • people embellishments
  • crown
  • mimic the sprinkles on the donuts
TESTIMONY (JOURNALING IDEAS)
  • Topic: Document something about food or a meal.
  • Prompt Idea: Get inspired at Three Word Wednesday (inspired by the 3 donuts in the air). Be sure to scroll down or use the archives to get the words.
  • Presentation: Add your journaling to a circular journaling spot or tag.
  • Writing Format: Write a haiku (inspired by the 3 donuts in the air).
  • Inspiration Words: sparkle, playful, juggle
THE SCHEME
  • 86.144.158 – teal
  • 185.226.212 – pale turquoise
  • 255.255.255 – bright white
  • 211.149.174 – pinkish purple
  • 90.75.108 – dark violet

So for the evidence, this is what I used:
Solid White Background
Stripes
People Embelishments

Testimony: I documented about food or a meal - I documented about coffee and a Chelsea bun.

And lastly, I used all the colours.

So here's my page.

I used FabScraps paper and chippies, along various stamps, diecuts and I also used a FabScraps stencil on the background.

I handmade the purple flowers from cardstock, using the gorgeous Sizzix diecut set, small tattered florals.

Journalling:
There is nothing better, than a cup of coffee and a Chelsea Bun.
Coffee is a daily...a few times daily and the Chelsea an added bonus, every now and then!
Coffee starts the day and the coffee aroma, as one makes it, just signals the start of the day and indicates that I have to get my butt into gear and get ready for the day ahead.
Coffee is also the inbetweener, when I need a little break at work and I can take 10 mins to go off to the kitchen and have a change of scenery and perhaps a little chat.
Coffee is also sometimes the last action for the day, where I can reflect on the day gone past and it warm my tummy before I get into bed!
It is pure medicine for the soul!

Perhaps you can play along this month! ;-)
Pop over here for all the details.

Anyways, hope you have a fabulous day!
I am just about to go and have another cup of the medicine brew!!! ;-)

Cheers for now!

Mixed Media Christmas Cards

Hello Everyone

I still have some Christmas Cards to share and I hope that you won't get bored of them, now that Christmas is past and the New year has begun, with a bang! ;-)

Here is the first one.

I used some ScrapBerry papers, along with die-cuts and coloured, fussy cut stamped items.

The centre circle was created by using the resist technique with acrylic paint and distress inks.

I really loved the colours of this card and this was definitely one of my favourites.

Here is the second card.

I really loved this craft card too and the little red flowers are handmade. Here's a closer look below.

I love how the colours pop against this kraft background. I really think I must use kraft more often.

Thanks so much for popping by my blog today!
I always so appreciate your visits and comments!

Have a fabulous day!
